Little Drummer Boy and Design Team Announcement

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Wow, I can't believe how fast this year is flying by! How can we be a week into December already?!

Is anyone else as hooked as I am on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas?? I look forward to them every year and I am so inspired by the ideas and techniques he uses! I always have a huge list of must-have items by the end of the 12 days! I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to copy his tags this year, but I did squeeze in a bit of time in my craft room today to make a tag for a couple of challenges with favorite Christmas songs themes.
The Little Drummer Boy is one of my very favorite Christmas songs :) I cut a tag at 6" from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More, and cut the little drummer boy from A Child's Year at 4". I cut him several times to get the different colors and attached him with foam tape. The background star is from George and Basic Shapes and I cut "pa rum pum pum pum" from Kate's ABC's at .5" and the music notes from Gypsy Font at .5". I used an EK Success punch for the top and bottom of the tag and added silver studs. I distressed the edges of the tag and inked it with Fired Brick and Walnut Distress Ink. The stamp is from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set, and I embossed it with very fine black embossing powder. Look at all the awesome sentiments on this stamp set:
And they are mix and match so you can create your own holiday greeting! To purchase your own set of these fabulous stamps or to see all of the K Andrew Designs stamp sets available, click HERE!

I am entering the Little Drummer Boy tag in the following challenges:
  1. Cooking With Cricut Challenge #73 - Sounds of the Season
  2. Cardz TV Challenge #97 - A Caroling We'll Go
I am so proud to announce that I have been asked by my dear friends Amy and Rhonda to be a Design Team member for Decorate To Celebrate!!
Decorate To Celebrate is one of my very favorite challenge blogs! I seem to get to a rut making cards only, so this challenge forces me to get creative and think outside the card box :) I am so super-excited to be designing with Amy and Rhonda and the rest of the design team: Brenda, Norma and Jean! Please stop by Decorate To Celebrate, follow the blog if you don't already and join in the fun challenges!! :)

Congratulations, my sweet friend! :o) Your work will be such a blessing to them, as it is everywhere. So excited for you! :o) This tag is absolutely gorgeous, Lisa. I love all the details, from the dotted music notes to the embossed sentiment to the gorgeous backgrounds. Love the snowflake star and the sheet music! Lovely work as always, my friend. You sure pack a punch into one gorgeous tag. :o) (And this is one of my fave songs, too!)

Hugs and blessings!

Lisa this is one of the most creative tags I have seen thus far! It is amazing, I love when you tell us what carts you use because I always learn about something on a cart I didn't know was there.

I love that you will be designing with Amy, she is one of my favorite people, and so are you. You two just kinda go together. She , like you is so creative and comes up with amazing things. You both are so wonderful, as all of the other gals, I just know you two so much more.

Thanks for stopping by my blog too. I am feeling better, not 100% yet, but better.

Hugs, Pam

Wonderful tag. Especially like the edge punch & the silver studs. My hubby's fav song is The Little Drummer Boy. I like the version of the song that is a mix of 2 songs Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy sang by David Bowie & Bing Crosby. It's a wonderful duet version. There's another challenge you can enter this in: Robins Creative Cottage Ch#2 Ribbons & Bows. I just found Robins blog thru Carri today.

Congratulations on your new DT. How totally fun!

I think you are in good company with the tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. I am seeing them posted in a lot of blots.

Yours is so wonderful. Little Drummer Boy was my all time favorite Christmas special every year. Sadly I have not seen it aired in a very long time.

It sounds like this tag took a lot of time with switching the cartidges and all. I have had my cricut for to long to be admitting that I have not used it yet. It seems so complicated to me, lol. You did a terrific job!!!

Hooray! Congrats on the new DT! You are just so super-talented. :) LOVE this tag. You always include so much detail in your creations, and this one is so festive. Your little drummer boy looks like he's dancing, just like I'm sure the one in the song would have been, given that he's playing for baby Jesus! Such a beautiful tag - thanks so much for sharing it with us at CWC this week. :)

Yoo hoo...Lisa...it's me! (Waving hand in air) Congrats on your new DT status! Hope all is going well. What a great tag! I love the song too but I'm torn between the Bing/David or Bob Seger version. However, my fav has to be Santa Claus is coming to town by Bruce & the E. St. band. I also liked the little gift box you did for FCCB, so cute! You may be burning the candle at both ends but your creativity is still shining bright my friend! I have some new blogs to check out it seems! Take it easy and enjoy this crazy holiday season! ;)
