Getting Cricky Flashback Post - Time to Read

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn for another Flashback post at Getting Cricky :)

I chose this card from last November because I just love the image of the little girl reading (and the MME papers)!! (Click HERE to see the original post with project details.) As a writer, and an avid reader, this card speaks to me :) And I just love the sentiment...since books are made from a lot of paper, I thought it was fitting!! Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

Getting Cricky Flashback Post - Woof You

Happy Tuesday!! The Getting Cricky Design Team is taking turns flashing back to some of their favorite past projects. It's my turn today and I choose a bag I made for my niece in March.

My niece adores dogs, and she loved this bag. I gave it to her before our trip to the beach and she wanted me to make them for all of her friends!! Thankfully, she has a short attention span and forgot she asked by the end of the trip ;)

Click HERE to see the original post with all the project details.

I used K Andrew Designs All About Animals stamp set:

Joy Hallelujah!

Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope your week is starting out fabulously!! I had some unexpected time in my craft room today and wanted to use some materials I recently won, as well as enter a couple of friends' challenges.

Even though all the craft stores around here already have their Christmas decorations out, I had a hard time getting into the spirit. I'm enjoying summer too much!! But I did manage to create a Christmas card today :)

The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The shape of the card is a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle die. I didn't have a rectangle die to fit inside, so I hand cut the paper and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye. The banner is made from Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennants and Nested Pennants, also inked with Tea Dye. The letters in JOY were cut with Spellbinders Donna's Alpha's on corrugated cardboard, then painted with an Adirondack Snow Cap Paint Dabber and sanded once it dried to bring out the ridges. You can't tell in the picture, but I spritzed Tattered Angels Silver Sugar Glimmer Mist for some sparkle. The gems are from Recollections.

The Aqua Splash ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam, which I recently won from Jessica of Jessica's Craft Shaque, and the double bow was made with the 3 Girl Jam Bowmaker (so fun and easy to use!!) I recently won from Gloria of Oma's Crafts!! Thanks again, Jessica and Gloria!! The banner tag is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die. The button is from my stash, and the hemp fiber from Joann. Hallelujah is from K Andrew Designs Southern Sayings stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase this stamp set or to see her entire fabulous line!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Thankful Thursday - Christmas in July
  2. Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Christmas in July
  3. Jaihart - Sundays are Lovely #11
Also, I am planning on a blog candy giveaway soon, so stay tuned!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

www.touchedbyabutterfly.com

I am so honored to be asked to be a part of Link Up for Pink’s first hop promoting breast cancer awareness. It's a cause near and dear to my heart. My cousin was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has recently endured a double mastectomy. I made this digital card to send to her.

I used a digi from Scrapbook Stamp Society and papers and embellishments from Touched By A Butterfly's Breast Cancer Awareness digital/printable kit:

There were so many awesome images and papers, I had a hard time choosing!! I ended up using all of the papers to make the bottom banner.

I used Photoshop Elements to put the card together, as well as to color the adorable digi.

"Brave is beautiful" is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. I love this sentiment...so true.

So make sure you leave a comment on each stop. So let’s get hopping, celebrate courage and strength, and most importantly spread some Pink Hope. Your next stop on the Pink Hope Blog Hop is Melissa. Here is the entire line-up in case you get lost along the way:

So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help! K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store: K Andrew Designs:

Kristal's stamp sets are perfect for cards, layouts, and so much more...

For my "Celebrate This" project, I used the Sweet July stamp set, which has quickly become one of my favorites:

Click HERE to purchase this set or to see the entire fabulous line of stamps!!

For my Celebrate This project, I'm celebrating summer and my niece, Lexi. She loved to collect seashells when we visited the beach earlier in the year. We called her the "Seashell Queen of Surfside Beach", so I made her pail to collect her beloved shells :)

The paper is from DCWV Tahiti Beach stack. I cut a strip of paper and attached it to the canister. The frame with the sandcastle, seashells and strip of waves are Spellbinders Nautical Accents and Frames dies. The edges of the frame were sanded and all of the dies were inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink. The sea blue ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, with the ends left long to represent waves. "Summertime and the living is easy" is from K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set.

I added a pinwheel for her to play with at the beach :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Now you can hop on over to your next stop:Shawn of Crafty Chics!!

Getting Cricky Flashback Post

For my IBSIC Guest Designer post, scroll down

Hi everyone!! We are doing something fun the next few weeks at Getting Cricky!! Each DT member picked out favorite projects and we are flashing back to revisit them. I picked out three of my older projects to share :)

My first flashback project is a Love plaque I made for my parent's anniversary last year. I created this for a guest designer spot at Cutting Up With Class. Click HERE to see the original post with all the details.

You can't tell in the picture, but the white background paper from Fancy Pants has little bits on it that sparkle like diamonds :) I varied the sizes of the letters so there is a ton of dimension to the plaque.

"Wind beneath my wings" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set:
