Happy Sunday, everyone! Wow, we have had the most gorgeous weekend. Perfect temps, high 70's and no humidity. I spent part of the weekend again with the volunteer search teams trying to find any sign of the missing IU student, who I mentioned a few weeks ago. She has been missing since June 3rd, and the cops know nothing more today than they did three weeks ago. She just disappeared.
I did get to spend a bit of time in my craft room today and I have a card to enter into the Birthday Sundaes Challenge #15 - stars and stripes birthday.
I went for a little different take on the stars and stripes theme. I used paper from My Mind's Eye. The stars were cut from Indie Art at 1". Happy Birthday was cut from Paper Lace and the woman from Forever Young at 4". My thought was to make this a kind of an optical illusion card, so I placed all the cuts so they lined up with the stripes on the paper, with the black background and foam dots giving it the illusion of dimension. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the gems in the stars and down the left side from my stash.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great evening!! :D

Gosh Lisa, I love this sweet, orangey card! The first thing I noticed was how you lined up the pop-dotted images with the background... you are just genius. (I don't think I've told you that in a day or two, so I figured it was time.) ;) Such a great idea and you executed it flawlessly, as usual. Fabulous!
