Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend so far. I still have relatives in town that will be here through tomorrow afternoon, so I won't be able to get around to visit blogs until tomorrow evening. I sincerely apologize for that. I may try to sneak in some quality dashboard time tonight when everyone is asleep, but I will probably be so tired, I'll crash too :) I have this post set to upload automatically - first time I've done that so I hope it works! If you are reading this, I guess it did :P
This is a tri-fold shaker card, representing the sun, sand and sea. Shaker cards are so fun to make! If you would like to know how, click HERE for an awesome video from Erika of Crafty Sprouts, or HERE for an awesome tutorial from Georgiana of Carson's Creations. Both are easy to follow and will show you exactly how to make your own shaker card.
To represent the sun, I used gold glass beads, for the sea I used clear glass beads and a seahorse and starfish, and I used real sand for the sand. I cut the circles in the DCWV Tahiti Stack paper with my Gypsy and punched the edge with a EK Success punch. The trees are from Life's a beach and there were two palm trees but I just used the base of one and added the leaves of the other to the top with foam tape to give dimension. I flipped the image and made one for the other side. Sun, sea and sand were cut from Plantain Schoolbook, and I welded the shadows together on my Gypsy. The Aloha is a stamp from K Andrew's Splashtastic Summer set (click HERE to purchase your own set). The tag is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die.
I am entering the card in the following challenges:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be around to see all of your amazing creations as soon as I can and I look forward to it! Have a great weekend :D
