Happy Birthday Mobile

Happy Saturday and October 1st, everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a project to enter into one of my very favorite challenge blogs, Decorate to Celebrate! Amy and Rhonda have such a fun and fabulous blog and it really challenges me to think outside the box with no cards! Eek! Cards are my comfort zone! But that is one of the reasons I love this challenge so much. The other is that Rhonda and Amy are so awesome and I just love seeing what their creative minds come up with each challenge!

The theme this week is Baby's Birthday. First I have to apologize for the bad pics -- it was so overcast here today and I couldn't find anywhere to get a good shot, so the lighting is really bad.
For this recycled project, I salvaged some bad/corrupt cd's that were destined for the trash heap. I used George and Basic Shapes to cut paper circles at 4 3/4" to cover both sides of the disks. All of the paper is DCWV. I threaded 6 lb monofiliment fishing line through the hole in the middle of each cd to attach them the base of the mobile before applying the paper. The cupcake and happy birthday at the top of the mobile are from Sweet Treats and the crown and balloons from Birthday Cakes, all at 3". I attached all with foam tape and decorated both sides the same. I used my iRock to attach crystals to each cut and added Hobby Lobby ribbon. I used 50lb monofiliment fishing line to hang the mobile.
I used stamps from four different K Andrew Designs stamps: "Sweet" from Food for Thought, "Happy" from "Fall-O-Ween", "Birthday" from Coffee and Tea for You and Me, and "Today is Your Day" from Positive Thoughts! Click HERE to check out the entire fabulous line of K Andrew Designs stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day :)
