My Sheri Crafts Guest Designer!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I am so excited and honored to be the guest designer at My Sheri Crafts today!!

The Challenge this week is to create a project with a Father's Day theme...card, layout, altered art, etc.

For my Father's Day card, I used paper from 7 Gypsies Venice stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square, followed by a Grand Square. The next layer is a Fleur de Lis die, adhered with foam tape for dimension. The next two layers are Twisted Metal Tags and Accents dies. Although they look like crystals, the gems are actually silver studs...more appropriate for a guy card :)

On top is a Nestabilities Label Twenty, adorned with a JustRite Fleur de Lis Label Twenty stamp in Versafine Onyx Black, the edges inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. The top banner is a Ribbon Banner die, inked with Spiced Marmalade. "Happy Dad's Day" is from K Andrew Designs Guy Talk stamp set:

  4. Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Father's Day
Head on over to My Sheri Crafts and see the projects the amazing design team has created for today's challenge and then link up your Father's Day card!! Also, two of my older projects using K Andrew Designs Freedom Isn't Free stamp set are featured on Getting Cricky today!! Here's a sneak peek at one...from almost a year ago!!

Stop by Getting Cricky to see my other oldie project, and I will have two more new projects to showcase tomorrow, featuring Sweet July!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

  7. Like the use of the Spellbinders for layers. Discovered the other day that the Grand Spellbinders are too wide for my Sizzix Bigkick. Was at Michaels and I got to see a pkg of the Grand Spellbinders dies and they are too wide for the Sizzix Bigkick. Saw the Spellbinders die cutter that the large ones work with but I'm not buying another machine.

  11. Oh Lisa! I was having fits over the first card! I just love the color combination that you used, but then I saw the 2nd card...we just found out that our daughters boyfriend (who is like a son to us) is going to Korea. He has already done two terms in Iraq, we were hoping he would stay home for awhile. Your owl card really touched me. Thank you for the information on the Spellbinders.

    Hugs,
    Chriss

P.S. stop by my blog and see what I made if you get a chance.

  17. Lisa,
First of all a big CONGRATULATIONS for being our Guest Designer this week at My Sheri Crafts. I was so excited when I found out you were the one, my friend.
Your card is as amazing as ever!! The wonderful papers and many layers just raise it to a level higher than high. I love the stitching around the background. And the way you used Kristal's stamps on that banner is just perfect. You just gave me a great idea doing that.

Your owl card is adorable too. I just love all the embossing on it. It just brings the card alive. This is one of my favorite stamps of Kristals's. I just can't figure out how I missed this one a year ago. Well, I am glad I saw it today!!

  32. My sweetest friend, congratulations on your Guest Designer position! So deserved and so exciting! :o) Could you have selected more perfect patterns and colors for a masculine card? (The answer is no!) I love the gorgeous layers (or should I say ruggedly handsome layers?) and that fantastic stamp. The silver studs are a marvelous accent. Isn't it funny how in photos the studs look like crystals, while crystals look like studs? Conspiracy! Phenomenal design and creation as always, Lisa. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Can't wait to see your new projects!

    Hugs and blessings!
