Die-Versions / Operation Write Home Blog Hop!!

Happy Friday and welcome to the Die-Versions / Operation Write Home Blog Hop!! We are so happy to have you join us today!! Die-Versions New Release this month will be featuring new sets of dies that will be a fundraising product for OWH:

You should have arrived from Paula's blog. If not, you will want to start at the beginning at the OWH Stars & Stamps blog. You don't want to miss out on all of the fabulous projects, plus the chance to win blog candy!! Be sure to leave a comment for each post along the hop for your chance to win. All the details can be found at the OWH blog.

Operation Write Home's mission is to support the men and women of our armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as "AnyHero" cards of gratitude to encourage them. You can find more information HERE.

If you would like to participate, you can find all the details and guidelines HERE. The basic details are an A2 sized card that can be mailed easily, no very lumpy embellishments and definitely no glitter, which is a safety hazard.

Now on to the hop!! We hope you are inspired by the projects!! By purchasing any of these dies, you will also be supporting our armed forces!!

I was very inspired by this release, so I have a few cards to share with you today :)

For my cards, I tried to incorporate a few flat layers while still staying within the OWH guidelines (my regular followers know how much I love layers)!! I used the sunburst technique for this card with papers from My Mind's Eye. The edges were all inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The scalloped border is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die. The new Sweet Phrases Miss You die was popped up with a thin piece of foam tape.

I used the same Sunburst technique, but horizontally instead of vertically. MME paper was used for this card, too and the edges were inked with Walnut Distress Ink. I embossed the white layer with an Argyle embossing folder for a bit of texture. The Lacey Dots and Sweet Phrases Miss You dies were used as well.

For this card, the MME paper does most of the work. I used the new Sweet Phrases I Adore You.

The Sweet Phrases I Adore You was used for this card as well. The paper is from Prima. A Express Edge XOXO Edge die was used along the bottom. The banner at the top was created from cut pieces that were left over from the XOXO Edge die.

A Hexagon Background die was used to accentuate the shape of the Sweet Phrases I Adore You . I used the the Express Edge XOXO Edge die along the side. A Wee Petite Heart Button was added to the bottom of the card. The paper is from Prima.

For my final card, I used the new Whispers Eagle Badge die. I wanted the background to look embossed, so I cut several of the badges in the same heavyweight white cardstock and glued them down.

Your next stop along the hop is Marlene.  Here is the entire list in case you get lost along the way:

I now have some great ideas to incorporate the dies on my cards so the servicemen can send messages to their loved ones at home to tell them they miss them.

I REALLY enjoyed the blog hop!!! I was SO inspired and anxious to make many new cards.

Thanks you Lisa, and the entire design team for all your hard work for our servicemen! I’m proud to participate.
