Decorate to Celebrate #79 - Outdoor Party or Birthday

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For challenge #79, we are asking you to create Outdoor BBQ or Birthday Decorations!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about neighborhood get-togethers, reunions, and grills or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my outdoor party project, I created a lighted arrow to guide guests to the party :) I had so much fun with this...and I will definitely be making more of these!! It's one of my favorite projects!! My Dad had a huge hand in this. I outlined the arrow on 1/4" plywood and he cut it out with his table saw. We then marked off the holes for the lights and he used his drill press to drill the holes...I did do the last hole, though :) Once he sanded it smooth, I decopaged paper from Colorbok's Under the Boardwalk stack with ModPodge, poking the papers through the holes. Once it was dry, I pushed the lights through the holes and hot glued them into place. "Party" was cut with my Cricut. Yes, I said Cricut!! I did have to dust her off and sweet talk her since it's been so long :) Plus, I had to try to remember how to use my Gypsy :) The font is from Base Camp and I cut it in LG Orange Vinyl and Black Vinyl for the shadow.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin Desert Divas - Summer
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Start From Scratch (made the entire project from a piece of plywood :)
  3. DL.Art - July Linky
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday
  5. Sisters of Craft - Anything Goes
  6. Crafty Girls Challenge - Anything Goes
  7. Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes
  8. Altered Eclectics - Anything Goes Mixed Media
  9. Rhedd's Creative Spirit - Altered Art
  10. All Crafts Challenge - Anything But a Card
  11. Anything But a Card - Anything Goes
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Outdoor BBQ or Birthday Party Decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

  7. My sweetest friend, your sign is AMAZING! Wow! It must be so satisfying to begin with the blank canvas of plywood and turn it into this! :o) (And I love that it was a father-daughter project!) The papers are fantastic and your font choice is perfectly festive, too! Cricut?! Gasp! Hehe! It would have been fabulous just like that, but then you added lights! Such a unique and marvelous project, my dear Lisa. I hope your day is filled with blessings and sunshine. :o)

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen

  24. Oh my gosh Lisa! You always come up with the most creative idea's! What a fun project to do with your Dad! I really want to steal that sign...haha! I love the fun papers and really..the lights, what a great idea! LOVE it!!!

Have a great day..hop your having wonderful weather! It's been pretty nice here~in the high 70's! Arya is loving the outdoors and gets so upset when it's time to go inside! She loves going for bike rides, going to the park and playing in the pool. I took her to the park the other day. Oh my gosh, she was hilarious. She goes down this long, curly slide and stops at the end and says, Nanny..I jump..1, 2, 4 jump. Her foot got caught and face planted on the ground. Of course she cried but I think she was more upset about the mouth full of gravel more than anything. I felt bad but at the same time, it was so funny the way she was so confident and wipes out. 5 minutes later, she was doing it again, kids!
She keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!
