Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! It's a chilly one here with a light dusting of snow. Ugh. So not ready for winter :(
I want to thank you all for the advice on my decision to purchase an SVG cutting machine. I was all set on purchasing a Silhouette. But after hours and hours of research I had actually switched my decision from a Silhouette to an Explore. ALL of the side by side comparisons I read gave the edge to the Explore. I really thought I was done with Cricut and sold all of my cartridges (over 120!!), but I kept my Gypsy. One of the things I liked about the Explore was that I could still use the images from the cartridges I had purchased. So to make a long story short, last week my sweet friend Diane of Nellie's Nest emailed me about a fantastic deal from Joann Online. It was an offer I couldn't refuse so...
I bought one!! I haven't had time to figure out how to use the Design Studio, but I'm excited to actually cut an SVG file :) It may be a while before I get the chance to use it, so any advice, guidance would be appreciated!!
Thanks again for all of your comments and advice!! I appreciate it so much!! Have a great weekend :)

yeah, ok I too am looking to get a cutter. what things did you like this better for doing? I am looking for something that can scan and resize and cut out the shapes. do both do that? if you have a little info on the ones you compared, I would love to see/hear about it. I am very inexperienced in this area and don't want to get something that will be obsolete before I learn to use it. thanks for any info. have fun playing with yours!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lisa, so Happy for you... I am wanting this machine but with all of the machines I currently have I am going to wait on it a bit. Looking forward to hearing how you like it and all of the great new projects you will be making with this beauty.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lisa!!! So looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous projects!!!

Yay! I'm so excited for you! I returned the one from Amazon that my hubby got me and then my mom surprised me with the purple one from HSN! I did my test cut yesterday and it worked like a charm! I will be playing all weekend and learning the ropes. I hope you have a good out of the box experience. :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Lisa, I was tempted to sell my carts to and be done with Cricut. But I have so much invested in my Cricut stuff, that I just couldn't bear to part with it. And I do love my Cricut just was unhappy with the way the company was doing things, so I just didn't guy like I used to. Plus God knows with over 200 carts, I don't really need to buy!!! But since the Explore has come out, I'm really wanting one!!! So Congrats to you for getting one!!! I'm sitting here green with envy. lol Can't wait to see what you make with yours, I know it will be some cut files from My Craft Spot! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!!!! I can't wait to see what you make with your new explore. I am hoping to get one for Christmas. Wahoo my dear friend hope you enjoy the explore and please let us know how you like it.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new toy! (I've been getting into trouble at JoAnn's lately too! Ditto at Blitsy). Can't wait to see how you like this new plaything - and know you'll be exercising it a lot more than I do with my Cameo & Cricut. Glad that you still have the Gypsy to incorporate with the new fun. Happy wkend, and hope it's not too cold up your way. Much colder here today though, but sunny. TFS & Hugs

Congrats you are going to love it I got mine in April -- I was one of the few that could not link my cartridges from my gypsy I kept getting an error message, but I love it. I also have the cameo I like that one for my svg cuts it just works better because my files from svg just will not download into the explore, but as far as all my cartridge- PC has fixed the glitch and now that my subscription has run out I can use all my synced carts over 200-- Any way I know you are going to love it and I am so excited to see what you are going to create-- A whole new you.. hugs Diana
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! super exciting and I can't wait to hear more about it. I've debated about getting the cameo and I always seem to wait:) Have fun playing with your new toy my friend:)
