Scrapy Land Challenge #52 - Halloween

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land. The theme this week is Halloween PLUS a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from!! You could win a $15 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land :)

The papers are from Echo Park's Chillingsworth Manor stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA and lightly inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.

To frame the scene, I used a Paper Artist Lacy Rectangle Frame die for the layers. Tucked along the edge is a LaLa Land Seaweed die. I know, I know, a seaweed die is a strange choice for a Halloween card, but I thought it looked creepy enough to add :)

The spider and spiderweb are Impression Obsession Spider Web dies. The spider was covered with Onyx glitter for a little added menace ;)

The tag was cut from the paper and then adhered to a Wild Rose Studio Gilded Tag die. Spooky Greetings and the skull and crossbones are from an old K Andrew Designs stamp set.

The witch is an Impression Obsession Witch Brewing die. I thought the cauldron was a little plain, so I cut another one and used a Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes die. The bats fluttering about are from Impression Obsession's Halloween Hill die.

My favorite part of the card is the potion bubbling from the cauldron!! I used Finnabair 3D Gloss Gel and some neon green Prills to create the bubbling brew.

I love this creepy quote from William Shakespeare's Macbeth: "By the pricking of my thumbs.."

"...something wicked this way comes." The quote was cut from the Chillingsworth Manor paper.

A Spellbinders Curved Borders 1 die was used for the inside of the card.

  1. Oh how I missed all your shabby goodness! Only you could take neon colour and Halloween images and created a shabby-licious treat! Wonderful layering, so much to draw the eye in. The accents are brilliant, love the tag tucked in there, and that spider web with the spider... but I think that my favourite bit is the bubbles in the cauldron. Freaking genius my friend, it looks so real! Beautiful and spooky, love love love!! Sure is great to be back. hugs :)

  14. I just love Halloween. I haven't always. I dreaded going from house to house to collect candy and then having to go through the candy to make sure it hadn't been tampered with. But since that part of Halloween is past I love it. The decorations and colors. Love it. This card is great. I am with you my favorite part is the bubbling cauldron. And the saying. :-). Have a ghoulish day. ;-). April
