Getting Cricky U R SO SWEET Blog Hop!

Welcome to the "U R SO SWEET" Getting Cricky Blog Hop!!

We're so happy you could join us for this month's Getting Cricky Design Team Blog Hop!! We have an EXTRA SPECIAL hop for you this month -- All week long, the Design Team has been featuring many of Kristal's stamp sets in anticipation of the hop... If you've missed out on any of the week, be sure to check out our previous posts for MORE THAN 100 CREATIVE IDEAS and PROJECTS using Kristal's stamps as well as giveaways, promotions, tips, and tutorials!!

If you've hopped along from the fabulous Shawn, then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Kristal's blog (you'll want to catch up on all the FUN!!)...

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America. For my project, I created a Valentine wall hanging! When I decided what I wanted to make and went to Michaels to pick up a canvas, they had a sale on a bundle of ten so...you will be seeing lots more wall hangings from me in the near future!! Plus, I had so much fun doing this one :)
I used Mod Podge and attached an old sheet of music to the frame. Once it dried, I sponged on white paint and then burnt umber. The letters are chipboard and I colored them with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then stamped over them in black with a music note stamp. The border behind the frame is a Spellbinders Borderabilities. The frame is two sizes of Spellbinders Lacy Squares and attached with foam. I embossed the white paper with the hearts Cuttlebug folder.
The heart and wings are Spellbinders dies, and I cut them out three times and attached the layers together with foam for dimension. I added glossy accents to the heart and a piece of organza behind the frame. The flowers are Spellbinders Sprial Blossom One, and I cut them out in eco-friendly white felt and then dabbed over them with Worn Lipstck, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink. "I'll always love you" is of course from Owly Hoo!

I am entering this in the following:
  1. Getting Cricky - Link Up Love Party
  2. Whimsical Designs - Anything Goes
I have BLOG CANDY!! If you have followed along with my project all week, I offered several ways for you to earn extra entries! For this hop, all you have to do for an entry is:
  1. Be a follower
  2. Leave a comment with a way to contact you
That's it!! I will combine all the entries from Sunday - Thursday, plus the entries from this hop and announce a winner on Wednesday, January 25th!
Now you can hop on over to your next stop: my dear friend Amy @ Love to Crop!!

  25. My sweet and talented friend, this is absolutely gorgeous! The longer you stare at it, the more beautiful it becomes as you take in all the subtle details. Wall hangings are one of my favorite things to make and own, so my heart pitter-pattered when I saw that's what you had made! :o) The stamped chipboard is truly beautiful. The dimension is gorgeous, the flowers sweet, and the heart/wings so heartfelt. And if you can stand a wee more gushing, I'm in love with the sheet music background (and how you tweaked it) and the touch of organza. (And of course the sparkles!) Blog hop projects are worthy of a gush, but I'll make myself stop there. ;)

Fabulous work, my sweet friend! I was wondering all day what you had cooked up and it is every bit as marvelous as I anticipated. (Maybe even more! Because you're that amazing.) Thank you for playing along with us at Whimsical Wednesday! Hugs and blessings!

Wow! This is so "Tim Holz-ish". You have really outdone yourself on this one. I love that you have 9 more canvases, so I will be seeing more of these. Love your painted sheet music background...such a cool effect. That organza banner behind your center frame really pulls the eye in. Beautiful work, my dear.
