Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! It's the first Monday of the month so it's time for another super-fun Delicious Die Cuts Challenge at Paper Playtime!!

I'm not a fan of bugs...in fact, I usually run screaming in the opposite direction!! But, I will admit that some bugs are cute, and I've always loved the beauty and delicacy of dragonflies :)
For this card, I used paper from K&Company Specialty Stack. For the base of the card, I used a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square and then two Grand Squares. The next layer is a Lacy Square.
The frame was created from two Fair Isle Pendant dies, and popped up with foam tape. "Blessed are those who persevere" is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. Click HERE to purchase your own set. I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the sentiment and to ink all of the edges. The dragonfly is from Picturesque, and I covered him with clear micro-beads.

Absolutely gorgeous! The dragonfly is beautiful with the tiny beads and does mimic the real thing. Again, I so admire your eye for the delicate layers you create. Happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteYour cards are just awesome I love dragon flies (on paper) because I am the wimpiest when it comes to insects I will run and scream like a three year old while running as fast as I can to out run the little insect. My sweet and talented friend, this is exquisite! (You make me use that word an awful lot.) The colors are so serene and full of nature's essence... why do you always make me add paper to my wish list? ;) This is gorgeous. Of course I love all of the Spellbinders, fluffy bow, and sparkly flourishes (best things ever), but my favorite parts are the sentiment and that stunning dragonfly. You know I adore microbead work and your usage here is phenomenal. Not only the placement, but the paper you used beneath it is perfection. Can't sleep so I thought I would visit. Lisa you card is gorgeous...I starting collecting dragonflies after the death of my nephew and this is truly lovely! The micro-beads and bling are beautiful and I think this is the prettiest bug I have ever seen...as far as a bug can be pretty!!
