Becca's Birthday Bash Link-Up

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I'm posting two days in a row - woohoo!! I had to find time in my craft room to participate in my sweet friend Becca of The Damsel of Distressed Cards Birthday Bash celebration!!


Becca has a mood board of her favorite things (see below). I tried to incorporate as many as I could into these cards (except clean and simple cards - ha!! What's that??!! :)


I started with Becca's favorite color pallet of purple and teal...though my teal is a little more blue. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concorde and Mermaid Lagoon (maybe I should have used Peacock Feathers for a more teal look...hindsight...) She loves polka-dots and I tried to incorporate several different sizes here. She also loves typography, so I used two of my very favorite My Creative Time sentiment stamps and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.


She loves distressed, vintage cards full of texture. I added texture with Wendy Vecchi Crackled Texture Paste through a Crafter's Workshop Punchinella stencil and distressed the edges with a Zutter DIA. The edges were then inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

    Awesome cards, Lisa! You have all sorts of coolness incorporated from the crackled texture paste to the zutting to the Mermaid Lagoon. Fabulous!

    Holy mother of pearl Lisa, this might be the most gorgeous card set I have ever seen! I am so in love with these colours together, wowsers, what a brilliant, vibrant, summery palette!! The laces and flowers just add an extra soft touch, which is the perfect compliment to the crackled texture background!! Dusty Concord and Mermaid Lagoon, mental note on that one!!     Wow! I am loving these two cards Lisa! I think you have hit the nail on the head with all the things that Becca loves! Your color combo is beautiful, I love the way you have used MCT's products, the distressing, inking and texture paste is fabulous.     I was reading through the comments and Donna said, "Becca is going to flip when she sees these cards". I think that is incredibly accurate! Two somersaults and an attempted cartwheel - I must now go see the doctor. ;) Seriously, though ---- to echo Pamellia -- HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL! These are stunning, incredible, amazing, divine, perfect and all the other good adjectives! I love that you combined almost every element and I think that blue definitely counts as tealy. :) THANK YOU for being such an amazing friend and helping me to celebrate my birthday!

    Wow...lovin' those pretty bright colors and all the fancy details...pretty~pretty!!!     Purple and teal are powerful colors together...beautiful, yet very dramatic. Created a lovely background for all the lovelies that you've layered on this beauty...love the crackle, love those gorgeous roses and ribbon that complement this card so nicely and the way you've added in the die shapes too.     I hope you are having a great week! We have been busy..ha ha, what's new?! Little Arya has been sick for about a week with a stomach flu and I HOPE I do not get it!! That would stink!
    I am hoping to get in my craft room some this week and get it cleaned~man, it's like a tornado went through it, lol!
    It is staying pretty hot here and the humidity is getting heavy! How about you? any vacay's in the future? We will be heading to Mexico in Sept on our yearly trip again! I am looking forward to getting away some!
