Happy Friday everyone and happy first day of fall (or spring, depending on where in the world you live :) Gosh, this year is flying by so fast!! It will be Christmas before we know it :) I wanted to share some photos of the beautiful hummingbirds that have spent the summer here. I've taken a ton of pictures, but I haven't had the chance to look at most of them.
I just realized that I didn't process any of the photos of hummers with gorgeous ruby throats. I'll post them soon.
We had an incredible amount of hummers this summer. This isn't the greatest video...it was taken through a screen, but this is just one of four feeders and you can see how many there are (you can really see them if you click full screen). It was a swarm :)
I am going away on vacation today and I won't be able to visit you while I'm gone. I don't want you to forget me, so how about a giveaway??!!

Your pictures are AH-MA-ZING!! Fantastic shots of the humming birds! and the video.. omgoodness.... it reminded me of bees swarming the nest! How cool to see this all outside your back door! ReplyDeleteLove your hummingbird photos, Lisa! Yours are a different color than ours, and ours tend not to play well together, so at most, there will be two hummers at a time on our feeder. After the hurricane, most of my flowers were gone, so the hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies did not have much to munch on. We quickly put our feeder back out. Fortunately, it only took 3 days for many of my flowers to begin blooming again! Hope you enjoy a great vacation. I am leaving a much dreaded copy-and-paste phrase on my friends' blogs. Trying to get back into the groove of normal, everyday life. The recent events in Florida caused circumstances which triggered exacerbations of my diseases. Hoping that my hands heal, and strength returns soon - the rest of it can be coped with easily enough. Amazing pictures of the hummers Lisa, you can see all their feathers! You certainly had a lot of them in that video, that was fun to watch! ReplyDeleteEnjoyed these splendid pics of the jewel like hummers. Their feathers really sparkle. Yours look just a bit different from the ones we see, and we get some of the ruby throats too. We have to hang our feeders out of sight of the other, as our hummers are extremely territorial and get feisty if another bird seems to want a sip.
