Fabric Flower Hair Accessories for Wild Orchid Crafts

Hello, everyone and happy Monday!! It's my turn to post on the Wild Orchid Crafts blog and I'd love for you to stop by if you have time :) This month, the designers were challenged to step outside of our crafty box and create projects that were different from our norm.

For my projects today, I created hair accessories using gorgeous fabric flowers.

For the headband (that could be used for a wedding) I used Almond Blossom, Almond Blossom and Babies Breath Flowers.

I also used Pearl Drop Trim, Flat Back Pearl String, Pearl Spray, White Stamens and Bead Berry Sprays.

Let me introduce you to my model...this is Francesca, or as I call her, Franny :)

Isn't she beautiful??!! Franny was a birthday gift from my parents last year :) One of my favorite things to do is dress her for the holidays.

Here she is, in all her patriotic glory, celebrating the Fourth of July :)

For this barrette, I used Autumn Blossom and Babies Breath Flowers.

I adhered the flower to a piece of grungeboard that is sturdy but malleable. I then glued it to the barrette.

For this barrette, I used Autumn Blossom and Babies Breath flowers, as well as Bead Berry Sprays, Skeleton Leaves, Mulberry Leaves and Pearl Sprays.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a great day!!

I also used Skeleton Leaves, White Mulberry Paper Leaves, Green Rose Leaves in two sizes, Pearl Sprays and Self-Adhesive Pearls in two sizes. I also used Prills for added texture (my current addiction). The white frame is a Yvonne Creations Rectangular Frame with a Memory Box Stitched Circles die on top. Birthday is a Poppystamps die.

DL.ART Thankful Thursday #207 - Summer Fun

Hello, everyone and happy Thursday!! It's time for a new Thankful Thursday Challenge at DLART and the theme this week is Summer Fun!! If you use the code l01210, Diana will give you 10% off your purchase at the DL.ART shop!!

For my summer fun projects, I created these surfing themed cards using papers from Authentique's Utopia collection.

To frame the surfers, I used a Die-Versions Smile Sweet Frame die. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have a slight...okay, a huge obsession with beach-themed dies :) The palm trees are Gina Marie dies and the surfboards are My Creative Time, as are the waves and sentiment, stamped on a Spellbinders Address Book die. This beautiful crinkle ribbon is St. Tropez Gold from the Tropical Summer bundle.

Salt Life is an Impression Obsession die. Beneath the WOC flowers are Kaiser Craft Tropical Leaves. This gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Aruba Blue from the Tropical Summer bundle.

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land and the theme this week is Embossing (either heat or dry) PLUS a brand of die Scrapy Land carries...there are over 55 to choose from!! And now there are TWO winners!! Yes, 2!! One will be selected by the DT and the other randomly!! So you have two chances to win a $10 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land!!

For my birthday cards today, I used papers from Maja Designs. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The crinkle ribbon is from DL.ART.

For the base of the cards, I used Spellbinders Grand Labels 1 dies. I dry embossed the second layer with a gorgeous Anna Griffin Embossing Folder sent to me from my dear, sweet friend Sherrie :) An X-Cut Doily die was added next, followed by a Sue Wilson Peony Diamond die.

The butterflies are Memory Box Pippi and Memory Box Isabella dies. The sentiment was heat embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle White Embossing Powder on vellum cut with a Sue Wilson Pierced Flag die.

Tucked among the blooms are Paper Smooches Foliage 2 dies and Elizabeth Craft Curvy Leaves dies.
