DTC #81 - Back to School or Birthday

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. The theme this week is Back to School...I can't believe it's that time already. The summer just flew by. So let's celebrate everything wonderful about teachers, apples, education or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my back to school project, I created a colored pencil vase. I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was adorable :) I had some old pencils that I have never used so I wrapped them around a glass jar. The gorgeous flowers are my beloved Hibiscus. I've had it for over five years. I bring it inside in the winter and then put it out on the deck in the summer. It blooms like crazy!!

Here's a shot without the flowers.

The tag is a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva's School Zone stamp set. The ribbon is from my stash.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - August Linky
  2. Doubleclick - AKA ABusyBee - Back to School
  3. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DTC to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your school zone or birthday projects!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

  8. What a clever idea for a back-to-school project, and if this is being gifted to a teacher, she will just adore it. It's so unique, and your hibiscus is stunning. We had red & yellow plants along our fence in Fla., and ours never looked so brilliant. You've evidently got a green thumb, and good for you at keeping one surviving in the cold winter climate. TFS & Hugs

Life is still a bit crazy! We are all heading out of town for an extended wknd for my niece's wedding Saturday. It should be a blast:) We are finally getting down to just a couple wks from my sons wedding to. Yesterday all of us had a makeup/ hair trial yesterday which was a lot of fun! My daughter also treated myself and my DIL to be to an overnight at the hotel at the mega mall last week. She treated us to a spa day-message and pedicure...Oh man, was that amazing and I was SO ready for a message! Loved it~she is always so thoughtful!
