Happy Monday and happy first day of summer!! I can't believe it's here already...spring flew by :) This has been such a crazy-busy month for me. I've hardly had a chance to get into my craft room at all and I've pretty much neglected Facebook and I apologize.
I had to find time to participate in Tim's Tag Challenge of 2016. I made the resolution to play along every month and so far I'm 6 for 6 :) I struggled with this month...I didn't have many of the materials Tim used at all. I had to improvise pretty much the whole tag. I decided to make mine a Christmas tag since it will be here before we know it!!
For all the details on Tim's Tag, click HERE. I'm entering this in Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge.
I haven't had time to work on capturing hummingbirds as I would like, but I do have a few shots. Almost overnight, my hummer population exploded and I can barely keep three feeders full. I love the colors of this one but you can't even see the best part...
His beautiful ruby-colored throat. This shot isn't too clear, but you can really see the color.
I love this one because if you look closely you can see her (I think it's a her) tongue sticking out :)
I captured another butterfly but I couldn't figure out what this one was. If there are any Lepidopterists out there, I'd love your help :)
And I'll end with a snap of my favorite tiger lily. Aren't the colors gorgeous??!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Wonderful that you are keeping on target with your goal. Only six more moths to complete. Love seeing what you are doing with his tags and seeing how you make it your own. Fabulous as always.
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous Lisa! I did not know about Tim Tags! Very cool blog. I will have more time now that summer is here, I think I will try to join in! Love your hummingbirds too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your photos and especially the hummingbirds! I love them so much! We had a hummingbird explosion last year and had 6 feeders that we had to fill every day - they only hold a cup each - it drove us crazy, but we loved every minute! So far we only have 2 feeders out this year. You really took some fabulous photos! We have not been successful with photos yet this summer. But about your tag... it's gorgeous! So many wonderful details to admire!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post full of gorgeous eyecandy!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Lisa, you are so sweet to post your amazing photos!!!! I fill my eyes with the beauty, here!! :) LOVE these birdie!!! The hummingbird is a delight, he is my favourite for his colors and the dimension. And you are a lovely "mum" to feed them, very well done my friend!! And love your adorable tag, you have improvised so well and it's amazing also without Tim's items!! The writed paper with the stitching look fabulous with the colourful tree! Pretty embellishments, too!

Oh Lisa, your tag is gorgeous and such a great idea to make it a Christmas one - love that idea, the tree looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the cute little hummers, how incredible to get such a close-up view of them, they are so, so beautiful. Sadly we don't get them over here... I am no expert on American butterflies (you have so many!) but if I had to guess I would say it is from the Skipper family but I can't be sure! Whatever it is, it is beautiful! Hugs, Anne xx
o wow, incredible tag, I love your colour combination and all the details, the tag is stunning!
ReplyDeleteand your lily is amazing - I love lilys, my parents have so many of them at their home ..
awesome Christmas tag Lisa, love all of the awesome details. Great job staying on task with your goal! I love your other photos also, hummingbirds and butterflies are always a joy to look at. Tiger lily's are one of my fav's!!!
ReplyDeleteSo smart of you to start Christmas crafts! I should get on that boat as well. Wonderful plaid look and gorgeous background, the metal 25 is a wonderful finishing touch. Now your birds and butterfly are awesome sauce. I can see the little tongue! How fun is that and probably a one in a million shot. Applause to you for getting it! Your lily is gorgeous! I have wanted a lily but my cat is more important and keeping her away from plants is hard enough, especially poisonous plants. Lol! I will just have to enjoy yours. Hugz to you muffin ~Niki
ReplyDeleteOh say it isn't so, Christmas will be here before we know it!! ha ha, great tag and I love your pictures, especially that beautiful hummingbird!! My husband has bird feeders all over our yard!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you for keeping your promise to do Tim's tags each month. Lisa, you're SO VERY amazing with all that you have going on! ReplyDeleteOh boy Lisa, this is just what I needed this morning!! What a beautiful tag! I just love that you used a Christmas tree for that technique, and good for you that you've gone 6 for 6. Beautiful version of the original!!
ReplyDeleteI think your photos have stolen the show for me today. I so long for some hummingbirds to come and visit my feeder, but so far no luck! I'm so jealous of getting to see these gorgeous creatures in person, and WOW, your photos are amazing!! Not sure about that butterfly, I haven't seen any of those yet these year either. Sending hugs my friend :)
Fabulous improvisation! Beautiful Christmas tag. Gorgeous photo and lily.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag. and love the pretty colors of it..maybe next year I can play, I still have all my ones form the early years and I still love them all! Your bird, flower and butterfly pictures are beautiful as well. Yesterday I was taking the trash out and heard a commotion in the garage so I went in and there was a hummingbird stressed out at the picture window in the garage (yes My husband has a picture window in his garage/man cave..lol..) so I had garden gloves on and was able to pick it up and set it free...wish I had my phone on me so I could of gotten a photo of it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas tag! The colorful Christmas tree is so very pretty! Your pictures just blow me away! I love hummingbirds and I can never get any close up pictures of them. Yours are gorgeous! You are such an amazing photographer! Love seeing all your nature pictures!

Lisa, you have created such a unique version of Tim's tag, and I love your yummy plaid! You've really put on your creative thinking cap with this! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fabulous, and I've pinned your butterfly for future creative use--at least I can try to make one so beautiful! The hummer shots are amazing; I never knew they had a tongue! The things you can learn from blogging! Ha! Ha! That lily is gorgeous! You must have an amazing garden! Big hugs!
Your tag is fabulous Lisa and I think it is so awesome that you are 6 for 6!! You go girlfriend!!! I love that you made it into a Christmas tag, but I'm not ready to even think about Christmas yet. lol I love your photo's of the hummers. My hummers look like your second little one. I'd love to see one like your ruby throat one! But they are all beautiful in my opinion. I also love the butterfly, kind looks like a month butterfly-they usually have some unusual markings on them. And the tiger lily, oh my, it is just beautiful! Love the colors of them! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tag! I love all that texture and I love the background.... and your photos are so beautiful! You capture the most beautiful bird photos!
