Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! I will announce the highest bid of the Blogs 4 Boobies Blog Hop at the end of this post!! But first, it's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land and the theme this week is Masculine, plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from!!
It seems I've been making so many masculine cards lately, which means no flowers and ribbons and bling :) And I have to apologize for some of the pictures...it's so hard to photograph the shiny aluminum.
For the background, I adhered aluminum tape to heavyweight cardstock and embossed it with Tim Holtz embossing folders. A Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 die was added next.
On the Impression Obsession Happy Birthday die, I covered it with Hammered Metal Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek. I love this stuff...it's think and really does look like metal!!
I also covered the Impression Obsession Classic Truck with it as well. I finished the cards off with a Taylored Expression Banner Stacklets 1 die...I cut it halfway and then flipped the die over to cut the fishtail on both ends.
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Scrapy Land to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your project using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries!! I can't wait to see what you create :)
And now to announce the winner of the card and matching gift box I had up for auction!! Thank you all again for stopping by and supporting the Blog 4 Boobies Blog Hop!!
Dee, you will receive a Paypal invoice from Skipping Stones Designs (Heather Engebretson) and she will collect the money, 100% of which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation on July 1, 2016. Once Heather notifies me of payment, I will get your card and gift box in the mail :) Thank you again for your generous support in helping to stamp out cancer!!

Very cool masculine birthday card. You always have such creative ideas when it comes to making your cards. I am starting to try other techniques since I have the time. I also need to build up my die collection. They are so much easier than using the machine. It sure is overwhelming when I go to Scrappy Land since they have too many choices!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, you rock all the styles Lisa!! Masculine can tough for us shabby girls, but you seem to pull it off with ease and style! I just love the metallic pieces you used. The silver and copper really add something extra to the background when you emboss it like that, love it!! The trucks are wonderful and I adore the curved banner across the front! You never skip a beat my friend. Hope you have a lovely day. hugs :)

ReplyDeleteI hear you about going to the stores and seeing Halloween and Christmas stuff out. Geeze, let us enjoy some summer please?! Crazy, but I do think some people actually start as soon as they see stuff out. I mean, I saw a lady go out of the store with some and couldn't believe my eyes! I try not to even think about it until after Halloween. Although...I really should start my cards since I am ALWAYS behind, lol!

ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Lisa.....great designs, love the metallic look, perfect for masculine cards. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your sweet winner! Your metal tape covering looks splendid with the way you've used on this perfect guy card. The truck is just fabulous, and works terrific with the gears embossing. The photos look good to me, and although you don't have your lush ribbons and bling, you've still got some great layering, texture and loads of color & shimmer with the metallics. Wonderful cards, and this is a new EP I'll have to check into! TFS & Have a super week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt is unusual to see you making masculine, rather than feminine cards but you've done a wonderful job again. I may have said this before but I really like the silver and black combination. The die cuts and embossing folders work together beautifully and the sentiment has such wonderful dimension. Crafty hugs, Sandra X
