Scrapy Land Challenge #54 - Give Thanks

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land and the theme this week is Give Thanks Plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from!! You could win a $15 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land .

I feel bad, but I can't give you very specific instructions on how I made these cards. I worked ahead before I left on vacation last month and as I sit here trying to do the write-up, I can't remember all the products that I used!! I will try though :) For the background, I created a mask of the moon with a Memory Box Stitched Circle die. I then added layers of Distress Ink (not sure of the colors...I know there was Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade). I then flicked drops of water onto the ink. The tree line stamp is from Stampin' Up.

Along the side, a Poppystamps Leafy Sprig Border was layered over a Sizzix Tim Holtz Mixed Media Thinlet die. The gorgeous ribbon is from DL.ART. A Memory Box Circle Die was used for the sentiment, and leaves from Impression Obsession Small Leaf set were added.

The button on the ribbon is a Poppystamps Stitched Button die. Burlap was added behind the scene for added texture.

I totally can't remember at all how I created the rough bark texture on the Sizzix Tim Holtz Birch Tree Thinlet. I wish I could. I actually planned on doing a tutorial and it irritates me that I can't remember the steps. I know there was DecoArt Crackle Paste involved, but the rest I just can't recall.

The deer are Impression Obsession Deer Trio dies. They were popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Anything But Cute - Inspired By An Autumn Day

This is my 2nd post...for the Scrapy Land Challenge, click HERE.

{Scheduled Post} Happy Wednesday!! It's time for a new challenge at Anything But Cute!! The theme this month is An Autumn Day.

The sweet and amazing Autumn from sewpaperpaint is our fabulous hostess this month and what a fitting theme she's chosen :) Here's what she had to say about the theme:

I could not help but chose October as my month to hostess here at Anything But Cute. This month, we want to see your creations inspired by An Autumn Day. Anything goes mixed media with an fall color palette, or Autumnal elements. Be inspired by nature with the sights, smells, and sounds of this beautiful season. We cannot wait to see the amazing artwork you turn out!

For my card inspired by an Autumn day, I started out with watercolor paper and my Dylusions sprays.

I just started spraying, with the lightest colors first. Lemon Zest...

Pure Sunshine and Squeezed Orange...

Some Postbox Red. I just kept spraying until I had a mixture I was happy with. I don't have pictures of the rest of the process. I wasn't really sure where I was going with this at the time :)

I added texture paste through a The Crafter's Workshop Believe Script stencil. The birds in the top left corner are a Tim Holtz Remnant Rub.

The tree is a Frantic Stamper Medium Bare Ash die, cut in black sticky-back foam.

The leaves were all cut from the sprayed papers with Cheery Lynn Fall Leaves dies. I love the texture the swirls give to the leaves. Memory Box Grove Branches were added among the leaves, as was a Leane Creatief Pine Cone die.

The frame was made with a silicone die, air dry clay and crackle paint. Once it dried and cracked, DecoArt Raw Umber Antiquing Cream was rubbed into the cracks. The stamp is a Stampin Up stamp and you can't tell in the pic, but crackle glaze was added. Grateful is a My Creative Time die and the beautiful crinkle ribbon is from DL.ART.

I added some sisal for fall texture and inked all of the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Anything But Cute to see the amazing projects created by my talented design team sisters. Then link up your project inspired by an Autumn day. I can't wait to see what you create :)

Thanks So Much

Happy Monday!! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!! I'm still trying to get caught up from being away from blogging last week, so if I haven't stopped by to visit, I will soon :)

I couldn't wait to use the Oh, Hello Clear-Mount Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! that I won from my super-sweet friend Norma of PinBlingCrafter!! Thanks again, Norma - I absolutely love them!!

The paper for the card is from My Mind's Eye's Bloom stack. The ribbon is from May Arts and the button is from my stash. A Spellbinders Floral Oval die was used, followed by a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large. The layers were popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The top layer was cut with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small on heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The chevron stamp from the Oh, Hello set was stamped with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink. The rose was stamped with TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The sentiment was stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in jet black.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
