DL.ART Thankful Thursday #169 - Christmas

Happy Thursday and a I want to wish a very safe and happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends!! I hope you enjoy the turkey and pumpkin pie...or whatever yummy food you celebrate with :) It's time for another Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART and the theme this week is Christmas.

I seem to be on a white-on-white card kick :) I wanted to use more of the tree dies I've been collecting, so I pulled these two Marianne dies. The one on the left is a Marianne Fir Tree and the right is a Marianne Pine Tree die. The hills are Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border dies. I just love the Moose and baby...they are Marianne Elk Moose dies.

The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Chalk White from Diana's The Newspaper Bundle. I also used her White Twine. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions. It's stamped on a Taylored Expression Banner Stacklet die.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. LSP Show It Off Saturday - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Christmas project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

In this season of thanks, I want to tell you all how thankful I am for your friendship!! Big hugs :)

Disco Fever Part 2

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a couple of cards to share with you using dies from the October Retro Release. This is such an awesome release and if you use the code lisa15, you'll get 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order :)

I am having so much fun with these dies...disco music plays in my head as I cut them out :)

I used the Whispers Retro Disco Ball for this card. I cut it out first in Core Couture paper from Core-dinations and then black craft foam for dimension.

The Whispers Retro Dancers adorn this card. I found the papers in my stash...possibly old DCWV? They had the retro feel I was looking for. Disco is from the Whispers Retro Disco Ball die.

I just had to share this picture of the sunset a few days ago...the colors were so vibrant!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #30 - Monochromatic

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week :) It's time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land!! The theme this challenge is Monochromatic plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from.

For my cards, I went totally monochromatic with all white for a winter wonderland scene. This also gave me a chance to use some of the tree dies I've been collecting...I have a slight obsession with tree dies :)

I started with a Die-Namites Winter Forest die in the back and popped it up with foam tape for dimension. Each successive layer is popped up with foam tape. The next layer is a Memory Box Evergreen Landscape die, and over that is a Memory Box Country Landscape die. I interspersed some Impression Obsession Fir Trees among the layers.

The deer family are Impression Obsession Deer Trio dies. Joy is from Memory Box. It was covered with sugar coating for sparkle. The stars are Memory Box Star of Wonder dies, and they were covered with sugar coating as well.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

1) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Christmas

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Scrapy Land to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Monochromatic project using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Mixed Media Christmas Ornaments

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! They're just flying by, aren't they? Christmas will truly be here before we know it. I should be working on Christmas cards but instead, I have a couple of mixed media ornaments to share with you today :)

I picked up the chipboard ornaments for this project from Hobby Lobby.

I covered this one with Golden Crackle Paste in a thick layer. Once it dried and cracked, I covered it with red acrylic paint, waited a few minutes and then wiped the paint off so that it just filled the cracks. The snowflake on the bottom is a Memory Box Alipine Snowflake die and it was covered with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I cut the Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight die in grungeboard and painted him with brown acrylic paint. Once he dried, I covered him with Deco Art Crackle Glaze. Once the cracks appeared, I used Viva Inka Metallic Gold to highlight the cracks. The Tim Holtz Pine Trees were covered with Stampendous Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel.

The poinsettia was cut from a Spellbinders Poinsettia die. Every other layer was embossed with Shabby White Embossing Enamel. The berries in the center are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This ornament was first covered with black gesso and then red acrylic paint. Deco Art Crackle Glaze was applied all over and once it dried, white acrylic paint was used to bring out the cracks.

The pine branches are Impression Obsession Pine Branch dies. They were covered with Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel and with Liquitex Glass Beads. Texture Paste was applied through a Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil. Joy is a Memory Box die and it was covered with the Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I'm entering these in the following challenges:

1) Anything But Cute - It's Ornamental
2) LSP Show it Off Saturday - Anything Goes
3) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
4) Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
