Scrapy Land Challenge #80 ~ Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are getting ready for the holidays...they're almost here!! I'm taking a short blog break, so this is a scheduled post. It's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land and the theme as always is Anything Goes Plus a Brand of Die Scrapy Land carries...there are over 55 to choose from. You could be one of two winners of a $10 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land.

Several members of the design team participated in a Christmas card exchange and I drew my dear sweet, long-time friend Sherrie of Sherrie Scraps With Passion!! I created this card / Christmas ornament for Sherrie using papers from Maja Designs.

I layered Sizzex Tim Holtz Tree Line dies in the background. The poinsettias are Sizzix Pillow Box Poinsettia dies, with stamens from Wild Orchid Crafts. Tucked under the flowers are Impression Obsession Pine Branches and Impression Obsession Pine Sprigs.

A Memory Box Snowflake Swell die was added to the bottom half of the card. The sentiment is from Altenew and it was stamped on a Sue Wilson Pierced Flag die. I added Prills for texture.

A Memory Box Snowflake Wire was adhered over the lace. The base of the ornament is a Spellbinders Star die. Memory Box Star of Wonder dies were covered with glitter and added to both the card and ornament.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

1) Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
2) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes

Die-Versions Christmas Gift Set

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away??!! Yipes!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a Christmas project to share with you using several Die-Versions dies.

I love making ornaments using Die-Versions dies cut with vinyl. For this ornament and card set, I used Alcohol Inks for the base. I put together a quick tutorial on how to stamp the ornament.

I started with a white ornament, Alcohol inks in Botanical and Poppyfield, a stamping tool and pieces of felt.

Squirt random drops of the inks across the felt and then you just start stamping on the ornament.

Keep stamping and building up layers until you achieve your desired look.

This is what it looked like when the entire ornament was covered. Gorgeous, isn't it??!

I had the hardest time photographing the ornament so I apologize for the light glares. I used the Whispers Regal Reindeer die (not currently in stock). Christmas is from the Compliments Holiday 1 set. Whispers Holly Branches (not currently in stock) were added under the poinsettia from Wild Orchid Crafts. The beautiful ribbon is Pure Love from DL.ART's Valentine Bundle.

I used the same dies for the card, and the same technique for the background, using Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper for the Alcohol Inks. The Regal Reindeer die was covered in Shabby White Frantage.

I had so much fun with the technique, I made another ornament using the Whispers Delicate Deer die (not currently in stock).

Die-Versions Christmas Ornaments

Happy Monday!! I hope all of your holiday preparations are going well!! I still don't have all of my shopping done or cards made - ugh!! Time's running out one me. It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a Christmas project to share with you today. If you use the code lisa15 you'll receive 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

I made ornaments last year using Die-Versions dies and vinyl and I just loved how they turned out, so I made more this year. You can see last year's version HERE.

I started with clear ornaments and then removed the top. I poured about a tablespoon of Future Floor Polish inside and rolled it around until it coated the entire surface. Then I added the glitter and rolled the ornament until the entire surface was covered. Isn't the sparkle gorgeous??!! The Whispers Christmas Word Tree was cut in green vinyl and then adhered to the front of the ornament. If it doesn't lay flat or bumps appear, you can just use a heat gun to flatten the vinyl.

For this one, I used the Whispers Angels of Peace, cut in red vinyl. The dies cut the vinyl perfectly. The beautiful crinkle ribbon is Christmas Red from DL.ART's Traditional Christmas Bundle and the green is Christmas Green from the same bundle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

DL.ART Thankful Thursday #171 - New Years

Happy Thursday and Happy Christmas Eve!! Christmas has finally arrived!! Santa's going to need to borrow Noah's Ark to deliver presents here...we've had strong storms and non-stop rain with temps in the high 60's. It totally doesn't seem like Christmas.

It's time for a new Thankful Thursday at DL.ART and the theme this week is New Years. I created a couple of cards and an ornament to celebrate 2016 using gorgeous Cabernet Ribbon from Diana's Vintage Vineyard Bundle.

For the ornament, I used the same technique I used for the Southwestern Bison ornament HERE. I also added some of Diana's beautiful Twine to the Poppystamps Stitched Button.

For the cards I used papers from my favorite Bo Bunny's Altitude stack and stitched it to heavyweight cardstock. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. A Spellbinders Curved Borders 1 die was used beneath the flowers, which are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Cherry Lynn Flourishes, Memory Box Chloe Stems and Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves were also tucked under the blooms. The happy die and new year stamp are from My Creative Time, with some Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves Distress Ink along the edges.

Now it's your turn...head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your New Years project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

I won't be around blogland until after the first of the year. I'm headed down to my sister's house in Kentucky as she's having surgery. I'm not sure that I'll be able to get online so I will catch up with all of you when I return. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!! Merry Christmas!! Big hugs :)

Southwestern Bison Ornament

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a project to share with you using one of the newest dies from the November Release. If you use the code lisa15, you will get 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

Isn't this Southwestern Bison die awesome?! I cut it out in vinyl and it cut perfectly. The gorgeous ribbon is Christmas Red from the DL.ART Traditional Christmas bundle. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die.

To create the sparkly ornament, I poured about a tablespoon of Future floor polish into the ornament and rolled it around until it coated all of the inside, then discarded the extra liquid. Then I poured in glitter and rolled it around until it covered the inside surface, tapping out any extra. I let it dry before I added the topper back on. I love the look of these sparkly ornaments so you will probably see more projects like this in the next few weeks ;)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday - A/G
2. Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Christmas Joy

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
