Decorate to Celebrate #66 - Snowman/Snowflake or Birthday

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! For those of you that are feeling the effects of the bitter winter storm, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Gah, it's cold, isn't it?? The temps are so brutal, it literally hurts to go outside. Perfect excuse to say indoors and craft :)

It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! We are changing things up a bit in 2014...we will have a theme that the design team follows, and you can either link up a project with the theme or submit a birthday party project - it's your choice!! Also, we have a new sponsor!! Our fabulous design team member Norma of Pink Bling Crafter, an Independent Stampin Up! Demonstrator, will be sponsoring the even numbered challenges!! How exciting!! You can still win an awesome mini from the amazing Rhonda of Scrap Happens With Rhonda on all the odd numbered challenges :)

Our theme this week for Challenge #66 is Snowman/Snowflake or Birthday!! Let's celebrate EVERYTHING WONDERFUL about SNOWY NIGHTS, SNOWBALL FIGHTS, FROSTY the SNOWMAN or BIRTHDAYS  with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!  :)

For my Snowman party, I created snowman snacks!! I saw different versions of these on Pinterest and mine didn't come out anything like those :/  Hey, it was really just an excuse to buy some of the powdered donuts ;) M&M's were added and dark chocolate drops for the eyes. Chocolate sprinkles were used for the mouths. For the marshmallows, orange Tic Tacs were used for the nose. The hats were dipped in chocolate and then put into the freezer.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. Craft It Up & Link It Up - Winter
  2. DL.Art - January Linky
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - January Linky
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Snowman/Snowflake or Birthday projects...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Decorate to Celebrate #38 - Over The Hill Party!!

Happy Hump Day!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about getting older with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my Over-the-Hill Party, I made treat boxes!! Okay, they're a little insensitive, and I would probably bawl if someone gave this to me, but I thought it was perfect for this challenge :) The box was cut from Wrap it Up at 10". The papers are from my stash, except for the shiny silver cardstock, which is from DCWV's Immortal Love stack. The sentiment is from Gypsy Font, and I used my Gypsy to weld the shadows together. The grass was embossed with the Cuttlebug Branches embossing folder.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. Sunday Funday #3 - Linky Party
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Over-The-Hill decorations...I can't wait to see what you create!! Plus, you could be our next featured designer!! Have a great day :)

Decorate to Celebrate #37 - Surprise Party!!

When witches go riding
and black cats are seen
the moon laughs and whispers
'tis near Halloween

Happy Halloween!! It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #37, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a surprise birthday party Let's celebrate everything wonderful about birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my surprise party, I created a party banner. It's actually very sparkly in person but I couldn't get decent pictures because it was overcast. The paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane stack...and it sparkles. The shapes of each individual banner is a Spellbinders Creative Book Pages die. I thought the shape was perfect to add crystal gems in the corners and decorative beads hanging off the bottom.

The letters for party are from Base Camp, cut on Core'dinations Core Couture paper and popped up with foam tape. Surprise was cut from Everyday Pop Up Cards and also attached with foam tape.

The white ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I added a strip to each banner and then a bow at the end to tie all the panels together.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Linky Party
  2. Sunday Funday #2 - Linky Party
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your surprise birthday party decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Book of Spells

My thoughts and prayers today are with everyone affected by Sandy.

I have a quick project to share with you...my last Halloween project of the year. But I will have a Halloween card to share on Friday for a DT post.

I used an old free book from the library for the Book of Spells. The paper is from K&Company. The black ribbon on the spine is from my stash. The label is a Spellbinders Grand Labels Four. Book of Spells is from A Frightful Affair, the letters welded together on my Gyspy.

I can't remember who made the sticker bottles...I picked them up at Michaels and threw away the packaging.

Surprise when you open the book...the inside holds a secret stash of candy corn!! I mod-podged the pages together. Once they were dry, I cut a hole in the center of the paper, which was much harder than I thought it would be. I tried so many things and ended up using a craft knife...it took forever!! The frame is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle, with a Classic Rectangles Large for the cutout.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Linky Party
  2. Sunday Funday #2 - Linky Party
Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

(I felt disconnected from the world!!) I have an appointment at 8am, so I don't have time to do the tutorial or find the link. If anyone is interested, I'll post the tutorial either later today or tomorrow.

These were so fun to make, although I ruined some cheesecloth before I figured it out :)

Decorate to Celebrate #34 - Birthday Party For a Grown-Up!!

Happy Wednesday!! It's challenge time at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #34, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a Birthday Party (for a grown up). Let's celebrate everything wonderful about climbing that hill or going over it with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

I'd also like to welcome our newest design team member, Nana of My Crafting Channel!!

I have a quick and easy project for today. The inspiration for my hanging decoration came from a set of party lights. I would have loved to make a set of these with lights, but I was short on time. So I recreated the design without the light. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fancy Flight dies. For the hanging elements, I cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside and attached the butterflies and pearl ribbons, then glued the cardboard inside. "Happy" is from K Andrew Designs Fall-O-Ween stamp set, and "Birthday" is from K Andrew Designs "Sweet July" stamp sets. Click HERE to purchase these sets.

If I had made these with the lights, I would have put clear plastic behind the butterflies. I didn't have time to write down the instruction for the box element. This will be my last post before I leave for two weeks, but I can post them when I get back.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art 1,000 Post Linky Party
  2. Sunday Funday - Linky Party
Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Birthday Party Decorations (for a grown up)!! I can't wait to see what you create!!

After tomorrow, I won't be able to stop by your blogs, but I will definitely catch up when I get back!!

Decorate to Celebrate #31 - Any Party Theme!!

Happy Wednesday!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #31, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration for an ANY PARTY THEME!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about whatever you are celebrating today with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my party celebration today, I chose a House Warming Party, so I created this decorative birdhouse.

Everything was cut in cardboard first and the Brenda Walton K&Company papers were adhered with Mod Podge. The shape is a Spellbinders Grand Labels 4. For the center piece, I measured the length and then scored it at 1/2" on either side to hot glue it to the front and back pieces. The shingles are Spellbinders Banner Basics 3 dies.

The decorative trim along the roof line is a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents die. The hole was cut with a Spellbinders Standard Circles die, and then a Spellbinders Fancy Labels Three die was used to decorates the hole.

The banner is a Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements die, inked with New Sprout Memento Ink. "Home" is from K Andrew Designs All About Family stamp set:

I am entering this in Joyful Stamper Inspire Me Fridays #70 - Anything Goes.

Decorate to Celebrate #28 - Block Party/BBQ!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #28, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a BLOCK PARTY or BBQ!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about neighborhood get-togethers, reunions and pool parties with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my block party decorations, I created an invite, coasters, napkin rings and drink umbrellas :)

The paper is from K&Company Around the World stack, and it was Mod Podged to cork coasters I picked up at Goodwill for $.99. I should have taken a before picture...the flower design was hideous!!

The napkin rings are rosettes attached to a strip of paper, with a Spellbinders Lacy Circle in the center. "BBQ" is from K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set.

The drink umbrellas were made of Mod Podged circles and lollipop sticks.

The invitation is a Spellbinders Lacy Doily Accent die with the same rosette as the napkin rings. "You're Invited" is also from K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set!!

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my Design Team sisters have created for today's challenge, then link up your Block Party/BBQ project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)
