Decorate to Celebrate #83 - Fall or Birthday

This is my first post of three...please scroll up for Day 3 of the My Craft Spot Sneak Peeks and the first Scrapy Land Challenge

Happy Wednesday!! It's a busy day on my blog today...this is the first of three posts :) It's time for a new challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. For Challenge #84, we are asking you to create decorations for Fall or Birthdays!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about falling leaves, crisp evenings, autumn harvest or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my fall project, I collected twigs from around the yard to make a decorative candle holder. You could use a glass candle holder but I used a can that held crab meat. I painted it black and then adhered the twigs with hot glue. The ribbon is from my stash. The tags are layers of Tiny Doilies dies from My Craft Spot. Fall is from an old K Andrew Designs stamp.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - September Linky

Now it's your turn...head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Fall or Birthday project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

DTC #81 - Back to School or Birthday

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. The theme this week is Back to School...I can't believe it's that time already. The summer just flew by. So let's celebrate everything wonderful about teachers, apples, education or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my back to school project, I created a colored pencil vase. I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was adorable :) I had some old pencils that I have never used so I wrapped them around a glass jar. The gorgeous flowers are my beloved Hibiscus. I've had it for over five years. I bring it inside in the winter and then put it out on the deck in the summer. It blooms like crazy!!

Here's a shot without the flowers.

The tag is a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva's School Zone stamp set. The ribbon is from my stash.

It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! The theme for this week is a Swim Party or Birthday. For my project, I created a beach themed mini album. All of the papers are from Fancy Pants Down By The Shore paper stack. The surfboards are Spellbinders Surf's Up dies.

The awesome sentiment is from Paper Wings Productions Sea Melange stamp set.

It's actually been a while since I created this so I'm not sure I remember everything I used. The flip flops are also from Spellbinders Surf's Up die set. This Very Moment is a TH Remanent Rub. The banner was made from Spellbinders Pennant Banner dies. The scalloped circle is a My Craft Spot Tiny Doily Dies. The stamp is a My Craft Spot Stamping All Around Summer stamp set.

Decorate to Celebrate #79 - Outdoor Party or Birthday

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For challenge #79, we are asking you to create Outdoor BBQ or Birthday Decorations!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about neighborhood get-togethers, reunions, and grills or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my outdoor party project, I created a lighted arrow to guide guests to the party :) I had so much fun with this...and I will definitely be making more of these!! It's one of my favorite projects!! My Dad had a huge hand in this. I outlined the arrow on 1/4" plywood and he cut it out with his table saw. We then marked off the holes for the lights and he used his drill press to drill the holes...I did do the last hole, though :) Once he sanded it smooth, I decopaged paper from Colorbok's Under the Boardwalk stack with ModPodge, poking the papers through the holes. Once it was dry, I pushed the lights through the holes and hot glued them into place. "Party" was cut with my Cricut. Yes, I said Cricut!! I did have to dust her off and sweet talk her since it's been so long :) Plus, I had to try to remember how to use my Gypsy :) The font is from Base Camp and I cut it in LG Orange Vinyl and Black Vinyl for the shadow.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin Desert Divas - Summer
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Start From Scratch (made the entire project from a piece of plywood :)

Decorate to Celebrate #77 - For Dad or Birthday!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! This week we are celebrating Fathers!! We want to see you celebrating everything wonderful about Dads with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!

For my Father's Day gift, I created a fishing vest gift card holder. My Dad doesn't actually fish and he doesn't hunt (thank goodness - I'm an animal lover!!) but he loves to camp so I thought this would be a fun gift card holder for him :) I found a big book of fabric swatches at Goodwill for $.99!! Actually, there were about three and they all had amazing swatches of fabric. I cut the vest first in Kraft paper and then I chose a fabric that would work for a vest. The die is from the newest Die-Versions release - Vest Card. It cut through the fabric perfectly!! I thought the frayed edges added a bit of flair. The pin on the pocket is supposed to represent hand-tied fishing lures :)

I added a fabric pocket inside to hold the gift card. Velcro circles hold the vest closed. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die cut in vellum. Happy Father's Day is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations stamp set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - June Linky
  2. ePlay Challenge - Fabric

For my project, I created a Thank You candle gift for a teacher. The strip of butterflies is a Die-Versions Butterfly Punch Border die. The edges are Die-Versions Loopy Lace dies, adorned with crystal gems. Thank You is from Die-Versions Everyday Compliments set. I found the tutorial for this basket HERE. The solid paper is from The Paper Studio. I can't remember where the flowered paper is from, but I think it's Basic Grey. The tag is a Spellbinders Tags and Flags die. The bunny is a Spellbinders Easter Fun die. It was colored with TH Distress Markers in Victorian Velvet, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans and although it looks pink in the picture, the carrot was colored with Spiced Marmalade and popped up with foam tape (so it is orange!!). Decorate to Celebrate #71 - Spring Decorations or Birthday

For my 3 Year Blogaversary Giveaway - Click HERE!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Spring??!! It's still chilly here and the flowers haven't started peeking through yet, but the birds are chirping away :) Speaking of Spring...it's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate, and for Challenge #71, we are asking you to create Spring Decorations or Birthday Party Decorations :)

For my spring project, I created a wall hanging. I picked up the frame at Goodwill for a couple of bucks. After removing the glass (and darn it, breaking it!!), it was covered with white acrylic paint and then lightly sanded when it was dry.

All of the papers are from Fancy Pants' Park Bench stack. The tags are all Spellbinders Labels 17 and all of the edges were sanded. I picked up the small clothes pins from Hobby Lobby and then cut strips of the paper to cover them. Believe it or not, I used my Cricut!! Poor thing was so dusty and feeling neglected :( The letters are from Gypsy Font and I welded them together with my Gypsy.

I used Spellbinders D-Lites One and Three, as well as tags from Nested Lacey Pennants. The circles were punched from the paper. The smaller tag is a Spellbinders Tags and Flags die. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Life's Possibilities stamp set.

The larger circles were cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles Small dies. The smaller ones were punched from the paper. The rosettes are Tim Holtz Mini Paper Rosettes dies. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies...cut in black cardstock for the base.

Spring was also cut from the Gypsy Font cartridge. The bird is a Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary die, and it was covered in glitter.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - March Linky
  2. Every Day is an Occasion - March Linky
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - March Linky

I made this a couple of months ago and forgot to write down the measurements on how I made the hat box and I've already sent this off. I do remember it was made with strong cardboard and covered with paper from Heartfelt Creations.

The stamp on the top is from Heartfelt Creations Moments With You stamp set. It was cut out with a Spellbinders Standard Circles large and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The circle of gems is from Want 2 Scrap. The flowers are Spellbinders Tattered Blossoms, stamped with the coordinating stamps from Heartfelt Creations.
