DL.ART Thankful Thursday #172 - Penguins or Black, White, Yellow

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's been a chilly one here with snow and ice and wind. Ugh. I'm so ready for spring. It's time for another Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART. The theme is perfect for the frosty temps..penguins!! Or you can use the colors black, white and yellow if you prefer. If you used the code l01210 you will get 10% off your order at DL.ART!!

I had the perfect stamp/die set...these adorable penguins from Hampton Art that my dear friend Sherrie sent to me last year!! Thank you again, Sherrie!! Aren't they the cutest??!! I thought I'd have my little penguin couple taking a stroll through a snowy forest :)

I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder. The trees are a Sizzix Birch Trees die. I popped them up with foam tape for some dimension from the background. The hills are a Lawn Fawn Hillside Border die. They were given an dusting of snow with a DecoArt Snow Writer. The penguins shine from a Wink of Stella pen. The gorgeous ribbon is Midnight Black from The Newspaper Bundle.

I am entering this in following challenges:

1. Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have come up with for this challenge. Then link up your penguin or black, white and yellow projects. I can't wait to see what you create :)

Craft It Up & Link It Up #21 - Christmas

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's time for another Craft It Up & Link It Up challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. The theme this week is Christmas. Our sponsors are KaDoodle Bug Designs with a $15.00 gift card and Cardz TV with a set of CTV stamps.

For my Christmas card, I used paper from K & Company. The base was cut with a Sizzix Label Window Pop n Cuts die. The deer are Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight dies. I cut them once in black and then in music note cardstock, offsetting the black for a shadow. The matching Sizzix Butterfly and Label die was used for the pop out lables. The three wise men are from TH's Mini Holiday #4, as are the trees in the background. Merry Christmas is from TH's Old Fashioned Christmas and the 25 is from Mini Holidays #3.

I needed this to be flat (a rarity for me!!) enough to mail  so instead of ribbons or gems, I used the Sizzix Edge and Scroll die. The banner is a TH Tattered Banners die and Merry Christmas is from Mini Holidays #4.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes Linky
  2. DL.Art - December Linky
  3. Sunday Funday - December Linky
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - December Linky
  5. 2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter
  6. An Inky Situation #20  - Cherry Cobbler
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Craftin Desert Divas to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Christmas project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Here's what I have created for this hop:

I am so in love with this Sizzix 3D Accordion Flip Album die. So many amazing possibilities!!

The background paper is from K & Company. The tree is a Tim Holtz Branch Tree die. The owl is from TH's Mini Halloween 3 stamp set, and was fussy cut. The bats are from the TH Bewitching Hour die, and they were covered with Rock Candy Distress Stickles. The stars are from TH's Crescent Moon and Stars die, the edged inked with TH Antique Lined Distress Ink.

The whole premise for the card was this stamp from My Craft Spot's Spooky Treats stamp set. I just love this quote :) It was stamped on a Spellbinders Labels One die and embossed with Zing Vanilla Embossing Powder.

Here, the witch is riding and the black cat is seen :) The witch is from TH's Bewitching die set. The cat is from his Raven and Scaredy Cat die set. The fence is a TH On The Fence edge die, and it was sanded.

This panel completes the quote...'tis near Halloween. The moon and stars are from TH's Crescent Moon and stars die. The quote bubble is a Spellbinders Snapshot die.

Every Day is an Occasion Turns 1 Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the Every Day is an Occasion Turns 1 Happy Birthday Blog Hop!!

Jill from Every Day is an Occasion is celebrating her one year blogaversary!! Today you will be hopping from blog to blog gathering birthday inspiration. If you are just stopping in or joining me from your dashboard, you will want to start at the beginning with our awesome hostess Jill of Every Day is an Occasion. If you are following along with the hop, you should have arrived from the sweet and talented Shelly of My Paper Love.

I am just loving my new Sizzix Accordion die!! So many possibilities!! For this card, I was inspired by Karen Burniston's use of clear plastic for the die (HERE) and this amazing card (HERE).

For the clear plastic, I recycled Spellbinders die packages. The papers for this card are from Prima's Fairy Rhymes stack. I wanted my birthday card to be a bouquet of flowers, so I cut several from Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals and Tattered Florals Garland with Core'dinations paper. The swirls are TH Elegant Flourishes dies. The fairy in the corner and the bird in the top inside corner were fussy cut from the Prima paper. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies.

The banner along the top and the fairy in the corner were also cut from the Prima paper. The sentiment banner is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die. "Make a" was stamped from a Hero Arts alphabet set. "Wish" was cut with a Spellbinders Opulent Opals die and a TH Wish Movers and Shapers insert.

The crystal gems in the center of the flowers and on the butterflies are from Recollections.

A Cheerful Heart is Good Medicine

For my challenge and giveaway at Do More With Less, click HERE
For the Prima Doll Blog Hop Week 3, click HERE

Happy Friday!! I can't believe the weekend here already. Summer is flying by so fast, I can't keep up. I hope you are having a great week :)

I have wanted the Sizzix Bigz Accordion 3D Album die for so long but I could never find it in stock. I finally did and was so excited to pick it up, along with the Sizzix Bigz Frame and Label Bracket die, which coordinates with the Accordion Album. You will be seeing lots of projects using these dies from me...I hope you don't get tired of them :)

My first attempt was put together quickly because I want to get it in the mail to a friend who is going through a rough time right now. I kept it at two panels and didn't over-embellish because I wanted to be able to mail it relatively flat. The papers are from Heidi Grace's Daydream stack. The butterflies are Spellbinders In Flight dies. The flowers are Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies. The small labels are Spellbinders Labels 1 dies. The front was inked with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw distress ink, the left panel with Shabby Shutters and the right with Spun Sugar. The flower images in the background are from Tim Holtz's Nature's Element stamp set, and they were stamped with the same color as the background for a subtle effect. The front sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. Thinking of You and Sweet Friend are from JustRite Stampers Grand Sentiments stamp set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin' Desert Diva's #13 - Anything Goes
  2. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will enter my challenge at Do More With Less...you could win some Spellbinders goodies from me!! Have a great weekend :)
