Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Let Freedom Ring

Happy Friday!! I hope you had a great week!! Sorry I haven't had a chance to post this week...summer is always so busy for me. And if someone can tell me where June went, I would appreciate it :)

Friday means a new Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces!! Our theme this week is in honor of Independence Day in America. So we want to see your projects that Let Freedom Ring :)

The base of the tag is manilla cardstock die cut with the Tim Holtz Tag & Bookplate die. A background stamp from Stampabilities with the lyrics to America the Beautiful was stamped in TH Antique Linen Distress Ink. The rays stamp from TH's Psychedelic Grunge set was stamped with Faded Jeans and Fired Brick Distress Inks. The stars are from the same set, stamped with the same two Distress Inks. The stars and rays were outlined with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen. The sentiments "Home of the Free," "Because of the Brave" and "God Bless America" are from K Andrew Designs Freedom Isn't Free stamp set stamped with Versafine Onyx ink. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend and our challenge hostess Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

The stars were punched out and then stamped with the stripes stamp from Wendy Vecchi's It's More Flower Art set in Faded Jeans and Fired Brick. The edges of the tag were inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

Celebrate Your Day!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had wonderful weekend!! I managed a little time in my craft room this weekend when I wasn't outside. Late afternoon storms drove me inside so I made use of the time to make some card and get some DT commitments done :)

I have a birthday card to share with you today, using gorgeous Nature's Garden paper from Prima.

The base of the card and the bottom layer are Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles dies, the edges lightly inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink. The bottom layer was cut in half and the lower half attached on three sides, leaving the top open for the tag.

The center layers are from the Radiant Rectangles, with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small in between and inked with Antique Linen. The flower is a Spellbinders Bitty Blossom die, the edges rolled and inked with TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

The two layers of the tag are from the Radiant Rectangles set. Both sentiments are from the JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments set. They were stamped first in Victorian Velvet and then Versafine Onyx ink. The ribbon is from my dear friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - Anything Goes Linky Party
  2. Sunday Funday #10- June Anything Goes
  3. My Sheri Crafts #113 - Happy Birthday America (any birthday card)
  4. Pause, Dream, Enjoy - Anything Goes

Get Well Soon!!

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are enjoying this first weekend of summer!! It's been hot here and stormy. I'm not complaining...with all of the heat and rain my plants and flowers have never looked better :)

I have a quick card to share with you today that was necessitated by events that happened yesterday. My mom went out on her deck and was stung by a wasp on her upper arm. She went inside and put toothpaste on it (takes away the sting) and came back out and was promptly stung again, this time on her eyelid!! Now her eye is swollen shut and red around the entire eye. She says she's never going outside again :( So I made her a quick card to cheer her up :)

The base of the card is kraft paper cut with a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels 8 die in Canvas Corp heavy duty cardstock, inked with Memento New Sprout ink. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink. TH Peeled Paint was dabbed through a Crafters Workshop Chicken Wire stencil for the background.

I have been wanting to use this Wendy Vecchi Layered Flower stencil for a while now. It has two designs that fit over each other so you can get two colors - so awesome!! The first color is TH Bundled Sage. For the second, I mixed Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste with TH Metallic Gold Alcohol Ink for a deep gold color. I tried to get a picture so you could see the texture of the embossing.

The stem is Bundled Sage through a Wendy Vecchi Fresh Flowers stem stencil. The wasps are from Wendy's Busy Making Art stamp set, inked with Coffee Archival Ink. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner, inked with Antique Linen. I'm not sure where the sentiment is from.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Kraft
  2. DL.Art - Anything Goes Linky Party
  3. Sunday Funday #10- June Anything Goe
  4. Docerela Creations Challenge #40 - Use Kraft
Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Summer Luvin'

Happy Friday and first day of summer!! Ahh, I love summer :) And for the first Friday of summer, our challenge this week at Little Scrap Pieces is "Summer Luvin'"...any card, layout or project celebrating summer :)

I was afraid I wouldn't get my post done in time today...I spent the morning shopping for my other passion besides crafting...books. Half Price Books holds an annual clearance sale at the Indy Fairgrounds. Paperbacks were 50 cents!! I stocked up!!

The base of the card is a Spellbinders Grand Labels 1 die, inked with Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink. It was then flicked with water. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels 8 die. The beach huts are from Artistic Outpost's Boardwalk stamp set (love it!!). They were stamped with Ranger Coffee Archival Ink. The Labels 8 was then inked with Salty Ocean on the top and Gathered Twigs on the bottom for sand, and again, flicked with water. The girl was stamped with French Ultramarine Archival Ink. Her umbrella was colored in with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and a TH waterbrush. She was cut out and popped up with foam tape.

The waves are a Spellbinders Nautical Frames and Accents die, inked with Salty Ocean. The sentiment is from the Artistic Outpost Boardwalk set, stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on a Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics A die, the edges inked with Salty Ocean. The Atlantic City stamp was stamped with Jet Black Archival ink on a Spellbinders Standard Circles small die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Artistic Outpost June Referral Program - Anything Goes Using Artistic Outpost Stamps
  2. DL.Art - Anything Goes Linky Party
