DL.ART Thankful Thursday #174: Pink, Red, Hearts or All

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!! Lent started yesterday, which means I have to give up salt for 40 days...ugh. It's time for another Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART. Valentine's Day is just a few days away and the theme for this challenge is fitting: Pink, Red, Hearts or All :)

I decided to use all for my cards...pink, red and hearts :) The papers are from my current favorite paper company, Lemoncraft. This beautiful crinkle ribbon (my all-time fav) is Sweet Love from The Valentine Bundle.

I started by distressing the edges and stitching the background paper to the base. This gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Red Hot Love from The Valentine Bundle. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Tucked among the flowers are Memory Box Chloe Stems, Poppystamps Viola Leaves and baby's breath. Some cheesecloth and lace from my stash were used as well.

A stitched heart from My Creative Time was used for the heart cut-out. Liquitex Modeling Paste was applied through a The Crafter's Workshop 'Art Is' stencil (my go-to stencil) and then I added the other two stitched hearts, popping each layer up for dimension. The sentiments are from Justrite Stamps Elegant Celebrations set. They were stamped on Stampin' Up!'s Designer Botanical Vellum and cut with a banner from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. Frilly and Funkie - Love is in the Air
2. Live and Love Crafts -  Love is in the Air
3. 2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes
4. Pause, Dream Enjoy Linky - Anything Goes

Love

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! Another month that is just flying by.  I have a card to share with  you today using several Spellbinders products.

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White cardstock and the next layer is pink vellum. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The next layer was created with a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Rose Medallion Die. I cut several of the dies and adhered them to a cardstock that had been covered with a double-sided sheet of adhesive. I then adhered the Rose Medallion dies, staggering the design each line. Since the background was sticky and there were spaces in between, I covered the sheet with Doodlebug Sugar Coating so that it glitters. I then lightly brushed Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the top. The button on top of the ribbon is a Spellbinders Pagemaps Whimsy die.

A Spellbinders Gold Labels Four was cut with Neenah cardstock and adhered with foam tape for dimension. Another Gold Labels Four was cut in pink vellum and attached on top, followed by white tulle that was also cut with the Gold Labels Four.

For the focal point, I used a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Large Heart Bezel. I sanded it quite a bit to remove most of the color and then covered it with white acrylic paint. Once the paint dried, I added crackle medium. Once that dried, I covered it with Raw Sienna and Burnt Umber acrylic paint, wiping most of it off, leaving it in the cracks to accentuate them. For the inside of the bezel, I used a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Heart Die to cut a piece of Spellbinders Media Mixage Iridescent Translucents in pearl. Love is from JustRite Stamps Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels 2 stamp set. It was heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The bezels come with a clear plastic top, so I added some iridescent sequins inside and adhered the cover with Glossy Accents. Gems were added to the top.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourish die. It was covered with Sugar Coating.

The flowers are Spellbinders Rose Creations dies. A touch of Spun Sugar Distress Ink was added to the edges, as well as some Sugar Coating. The leaves were cut in pink vellum and inked with Spun Sugar.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - August Linky
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
  5. PDE Linky Party #17 - Metal Dies or Punches
I have a couple more projects for the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest that I will post in the next couple of days. Thanks so much for stopping by!! :)

Bonjour!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful Easter and that the Easter Bunny brought you lots of yummy goodies...or crafty supplies!! It was such a beautiful weekend here - sunny and high 70's. The sunsets were vibrant and gorgeous. The trees are budding, the grass is green...spring may finally be here to stay (knock on wood ;)

I have a springtime in Paris tag to share with you today :) The base is a Prima Mixed Media Tag Pad. The papers are from Prima's En Francais paper stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All and inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

I used a Julie Nutting Priscilla w/Top Hat Doll stamp. She was stamped on old book paper. Her black lace was created with heavyweight black cardstock and a stamp from Tim's Floral Tattoo stamp set that was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Tulle was used for her skirt. The sentiment banner is a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Flag Die. Smooches is from JustRite's Ooh La La French Frills stamp set.

The adorable Poodle is a CottageCutz die. She was covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating Lily White Glitter and given a collar of crystal gems from Prima's Say It In Crystals.

The flowers are a mixture of Prima and The Paper Studio. Copper wire was twisted and added among the blooms.

The Eiffel Tower is a CottageCutz die and it was adorned with crystals. The larger butterfly is my favorite Memory Box Butterfly die, also covered in Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The smaller butterfly is a punch. The banners are Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 dies, adorned with Prima Say It In Crystals. The side tag is a Spellbinders Address Book die. Ooh La La and Bonjour are from the JustRite Ooh La La French Frills Stamp set.

Make a Wish

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! Only two days left in February...I hope March is much better to us weather-wise :)

I wanted to enter a couple of challenges so I created a springy birthday card to add to my stash :)

The papers are from Ruby Rock-It's Arcadia stack and were attached with Score Tape. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All and then inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Two sizes of Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Large were cut with papers from my stash. They were sanded with a TH sander and each layer was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The tag is a TH Tiny Tabs and Tags die. The pearl swirls are from Want 2 Scrap and I snipped and manipulated them along the side of the card. The ribbon is from May Arts and the Chalk White Seam Binding was colored with TH Spun Sugar Distress Stain. Make a Wish is a TH Remnant Rub - I am addicted to these right now...I'm rubbing them on everything :)

A Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die was used for the sentiments from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set. It was stamped with Versafine in Black Onyx.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die. It was stamped with the coordinating stamp from the JustRite Grand Sentiment set in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The antennae were created with beads from my stash. The top layer was attached to the base with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen along the center, leaving the wings unattached.

I used the Classy Cards 'n Such color palette for this card:

Wishing You Happiness

Happy Saturday!! And happy February 1st!! How can it be February already?? At least it means we are that much closer to spring :) I have a couple of cards to share with you today. I have made more cards this week than I have in like two months!! The stencil class really motivated me to find time to craft. I'm sure it won't last, but it's been fun :)

The base of this card is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight die cut in heavyweight cream cardstock from The Paper Studio. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels Eight die. The rest of the paper is from Prima's Fairy Rhymes paper stack.

The Labels 8 was cut twice and the top layer was cut in half to make the pocket for the tag. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink. The border along the edge is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die. The image was fussy cut from the paper.

The tag is a TH Sizzix Tiny Tabs & Tags die. It was cut once with the Prima Paper and then in vellum. The circles are Spellbinders Beaded Cricles and Standard Circles Small dies. The stamps are from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set. The burlap ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

The ribbon is from TH's Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon. The tag is a Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure die. Wishing You Happiness is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 1 stamp set. The button is a Spellbinders Whimsey die.

  2. My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #124 - Polka Dots

The card was then inked with TH Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. It was then flicked with water. The sentiment is from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set. Strips of tissue paper and white thread were added behind.

More Stencil Projects :)

Happy Thursday, everyone!! Are you getting tired of my stencil projects yet?? I have a couple more to share with you today :) Before I get to them, I want to tell all my friends in the south that are now getting hammered with snow and ice that I am thinking of you and praying for your safety.

For this card, Tim Holtz Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks were sponged through a Crafter's Workshop Harlequin stencil. The tag was cut with a TH Tiny Tabs & Tags die in vellum. The sentiment is from JustRite Stamps Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels 2 set. It was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Pink gems from The Paper Studio and a clear sequin were added, along with pink and white twine.

For this card, Tim's Rays stencil was inked with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Then his Clockwork stencil was inked on top with Iced Spruce. Finally, Tim's Stripes stencil was inked with Peeled Paint and Mowed Grass, some of the stripes masked off. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping, using Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media ink in Jasmine on vellum. A Spellbinders Classic Heart was cut out and the panel was adhered with foam tape. A Dylusions Around The Edge stamp was stamped on the bottom panel in Iced Spruce and blue gems from The Paper Studio were added.

Stenciled Day 4 - Part 1

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!! I have a few more cards to share with you that are inspired by the online class Stenciled. There is a class gallery where you link your projects so I have to show each card in a separate post. Sorry about that and you don't have to leave a comment on each post!! So this is the first of three for today :)

For this card, I used colored pencils to fill in the stars in a random pattern from the Tim Holtz Stars stencil. Happy Birthday is from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments. The stamp is vertical, so I taped off each word to stamp them separately (did that make sense??!! It did in my head ;) The black paper is heavyweight cardstock from The Paper Studio. The edge was cut with a Spellbinders Classic Postage Stamp die. It was then embossed with a Sizzix Diamond embossing folder. The cream base is heavyweight cardstock from The Paper Studio.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - January Linky
  2. Just B Creative Crazy - January Linky
  3. 2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes

Stenciled Days 1 & 2

Happy Sunday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I have been taking an awesome online class called Stenciled. I have so many stencils that are just sitting in a drawer needing to be used so I thought this class would get me motivated to use them and it has. I am loving it :)

You all know how much I love layers and dimension. These cards are not my usual style...they are flat enough to mail without extra padding or postage!! This card was inspired from Day 1 - Inking and Masking. The paper is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. A section of the paper was masked to leave room for the sentiment. I used a Crafter's Workshop Chevron stencil and inked it with Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I then flipped the stencil and inked it with TH Fired Brick. A circle stencil was used to add the dots of TH Picked Raspberry. Fired Brick was inked along the edges. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Encouraging Quotes stamp set.

This card was inspired from Day 2 - Template Techniques. I had so much fun with this one!! The sentiment is from JustRite Stamps Live, Laugh, Love Stamp set. It was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. A Tim Holtz Splatter Stencil was used to stamp the honeycomb stamp from Tim's Mixed Media stamp set in Spiced Marmalade. The Spiced Marmalade was then inked around the splatter stencil. I then rotated the stencil and stamped the circles from a Joann dollar bin stamp in Fired Brick, which was then inked through the splatter. The stencil was rotated one more time and inked with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Squeezed Lemonade and Fresh Mowed Grass Distress Inks were randomly added through the stencil. With a baby wipe, I wiped off the sentiment and then used a TH Pumice Stone Distress Marker to give the letters a shadow.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - January Linky
  2. Just B Creative Crazy - January Linky
  3. 2 Creative Chicks - Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Sending Love at Christmas

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful first week of December!! We are under a winter storm warning, with it expected to hit tonight with lots of snow and ice. We are in the area with a strong possibility of losing power, so I may not be able to visit you for a few days. I'm trying to get in a quick post before I head to the store for supplies, just in case :)

I have a Christmas bag to share with you today. I started with a Copper Foil Engraving Blank from Royal Langnickel...this stuff is so awesome!! It really makes the embossing pop. I also have silver, gold and rainbow blanks, so you will be seeing lots more projects with it from me :) A Spellbinders Roman Romance M-Bossibilities embossing folder was used and then sanded to bring out the copper and awesome texture.

The ornament is a Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments 2011. The stamp is from JustRite's Deck the Halls stamp set. A Spellbinders Classic Circle Small was used for the inside sentiment, which is also from JustRite's Deck the Halls set. The stamps were stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with copper embossing powder. The sparkly copper ribbon is from my stash.
