Happy Easter!!

Just a few hours left to enter my
Blogaversary Giveaway!!

Happy Easter, everyone!! I hope you are having a blessed and happy day with your families!!

I'm home from my trip, albeit a bit injured. I was playing in the ocean with my niece and holding her hand while we jumped the waves (all day...I couldn't get her to leave!!). I didn't realize it at the time, but all that yanking on my arm tore something in my shoulder. It's incredibly painful and I can't even begin to lift it above my head. So, I'm one handed until it heals (hopefully without surgery). I hoped to catch up with all I've missed since I've been gone but that will be delayed a few days...I will stop by when I can. I wanted to get this posted so I wouldn't miss deadlines, but I will be short with the descriptions.

The bunny is from Noah's ABC Animals and I used paper from First Edition Spring Feast and cotton for the tail.

I used a plastic egg and covered it with all different flowers from Flower Shoppe, cut at 2".

The card base is a Spellbinders Label 4, embossed with the Plum Blossoms folder. The strip along the middle is a Spellbinders Lotus Borderabilities Petite, inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. The lacy deign is a Spellbinders Lace Doily Accents. The top label is a Spellbinders 23, embossed with Plum Blossoms and inked with Spun Sugar. The quote is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set:

Woof You!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! I have a puppy bag to enter into a few challenges today. I made this for my niece, who adores dogs. She's 10 and volunteers at a rescue shelter...a future vet we hope :) This puppy looks a little like her dog, Lady.

I used Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels 23 for the foundation of the bag. The solid paper is from Core'dinations, the brown checked paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 Rosy Stack, and the tan polka dot paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 Blush stack. To make the box in the middle, I used a piece of 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" paper, and scored the 10 1/2" side at 4 1/2" and 6"; and the 6 1/2" side at 1 1/2" and 5".

I wanted it to look like the puppy was inside a picture frame, so I used Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles. Once the rectangle cut, I used the paper the rectangle was cut from and trimmed the edges and then popped it up with foam tape for a little dimension. I lightly inked the outside of the frame with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress ink and then darker on the deckled rectangle. the adorable puppy is from Four-Legged Friends (the cart I am giving away...click HERE to enter!!) cut at 4". I attached all of his layers with foam tape and added googly eyes.

The tag is a Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 10, inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The heart is a charm I picked up at Hobby Lobby. "Woof you" is from K Andrew Designs All About Animals stamp set:

  3. Made Especially For You - Distress Ink
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I will have another post on Saturday so I can thank some friends for blog awards before I leave for a week-long vacation at the ocean. I have a few posts scheduled while I am gone, but I won't be able to stop by and see all of your amazing projects. I promise to catch up when I get back :)

Spring in Manhattan

Happy Friday, everyone!! Can you believe another weekend is upon us?? And March is 2/3 gone. Wow, time flies. I have a card to enter into a few challenges today, and I used the Tony Bennett song "Spring in Manhattan" as my inspiration. I haven't lived in New York for a few years, but I still consider myself part Hoosier, part New Yorker :) I lived upstate, but visited the City as often as possible. There is nothing like Spring in New York City :)

I used the Cricut Craft Room for the first time and I'm not sure about it yet. I purchased the New York set and really wish I could have used my Gypsy. I'm so much more comfortable with it. This cut is of Central Park. I had to cut the layers out so many times because I wasn't sure what they were going to look like with different colors. Plus, the suggested height to cut it out so that it would cut cleanly was 5", so the length is like 10"! This is a big card!!

There is a ton of embossing going on!! I used the Tim Holtz Rays folder for the background; Swiss Dots for the trees, Swirls for the bushes, and Tim Holtz Bricked for the bridge. All of the layers are attached with foam tape for dimension. The tulips hold up the easel card, and are from Walk in My Garden, cut at 1.25". The grass is a Fiskars punch.

"Spring" is from Base Camp, "In" is from George and Basic Shapes, "Manhattan" is from Gypsy Font, and I welded the shadows together with my Gypsy.

The scallops are cut from 3 Birds on Parade. "Sending you Sunny Thoughts" is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set:

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. Cooking With Cricut #78 - Spring Song Inspired Challenge
  2. DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge - Spring Flowers
  3. My Craft Spot #49 - Spring Scallops
  4. Aud Sentiments Challenge #50 - Song Title - Inspiration
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Time 2 Read!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week :) I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges today. The first is Cooking With Cricut and the challenge is Dr. Seuss or a reading themed project. I sadly have nothing Dr. Seuss-related so I went for a reading theme. The second is Frosted Designs and the challenge is to use numbers.

I couldn't wait to use my new Spellbinders Book Pages dies that I won from Shirl at Creations By Shirl!! I absolutely love them...thanks again, Shirl!! The red, white and black paper is from The Paper Studio and the pretty flowered paper is from DCWV...I picked it up as an individual sheet and I wish I had grabbed a few more. It's thick and has a nice texture and the design is so beautiful :) I stitched it to the red cardstock. The clock is a Tim Holtz die and I cut the girl reading a book from A Child's Year three times and attached each layer with foam tape for dimension. (Hum...I used Cricut, Spellbinders and Tim Holtz dies on this card...I should have pulled out a Sizzex die and covered all the bases ;)

I cut "time2read" from Base Camp, and welded the letters together with my Gypsy. I attached the words with foam tape and added a double layer under the "2".

I've used this stamp before on a card about reading...I think it is the perfect sentiment for books since they are made from lots of paper :) It's from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set or to see her entire line of stamps.

The border along the bottom is a Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents die and I added rhinestones, ribbon and a button from my stash.

My blogaversary is only five days away, so be sure you stop back by...I will have candy!! Have a great day :)

Child's Valentine Card and WINNER!!

Hi everyone and happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a great day!! I have a winner to announce for my Cricut cartridge giveaway!! But first, I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges...and since I'm giving away a Space Party cart, I thought I'd make my card a space theme!!

The challenge this week at Cooking With Cricut is to make a Valentine card for a child and use the colors red, white and pink. All of the paper is from Core'dinations. The rocket is from Just Because Cards, and I welded the shadows together to make the base of the card. I embossed the red with Swiss Dots and the gray with a folder I have no idea what it is called. It has groups of three dots.

The cute little astronaut is from Life's A Party. I cut him at 2". He is embossed with the Sizzex Diamond embossing folder. I used my Gypsy to cut a hole in the mask so I could stamp the adorable Peachy Keen face, from the PK-754 Critter Faces set. I added a heart from George and Basic Shaes and popped it up with foam tape.

I attached the little astronaut with a homemade wobble or wiggle wire! The inspiration for this was from my dear friend Amy of Love to Crop! If you haven't seen it yet, Amy created a fabulous tutorial on how to make your own wiggle wires! Click HERE to see the tutorial! And then, after you make your own, she has a challenge going on right now on her blog...click HERE to link up your wiggle wire project!!

I used Tim Holtz Fired Brick distress ink. "I love you all the way to the moon & back" is from K Andrew Designs It's Valentines stamp set! I just love this set...there are so many great sentiments and not just for Valentine's day!! You can use this set all year long!! Aren't the lips awesome??!!

Click HERE to purchase your own set or to see the entire line of K Andrew Designs stamps!!

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
