Each of us on the Design Team, along with some very special guests and friends, are so pleased to have you here with us!! We have a special surprise for you at the end of the hop, so be sure to visit each blog along the way... You'll end up at Kristal's blog where you'll get to JOIN the FUN!! So let's get HOPPING to show you some of our "Favorite Things" about Kristal's stamps!!

I'm the first stop, so your are in the right place to begin hopping!!

For my project, I'm featuring the Splashtastic Summer stamp set. This was the first K Andrew Designs stamp set I purchased and it's still one of my favorites!!

The paper for this card is from Kaisercraft's Seaside Collection. The base is a Spellbinders Labels Eight, followed by a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight, and then one more of each die for the next two layers. The edges were inked with Old Paper Distress Ink. The ribbon is from May Arts and the flower was cut from the DP and covered with Glossy Accents.

The label is the smallest of the Decorative Labels Eight dies, adorned with crystals. "Lazy Days" is from Splashtastic Summer.

Spellbinders, summer, Kristal's stamps...some of my favorite things :)

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art 1,000 Post Linky Party
  2. Sunday Funday - Linky Party
Now you can hop on over to your next stop: the fabulous Heather of Heather's Crafty Blog Space!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Summertime!!

Happy Sunday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! It's time for another super-fun Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky!! And starting this month, we are rolling out a new format. The challenges will now be monthly...you will have a whole month to link up your project!!

The challenge theme for June is Summertime!! So fun!! For my Summertime project, I created a beach bag and matching card :)

I know the colors are a little bold, but I love this paper from K&Company Happy Trails paper stack. Some of the pages are glossy and embossed, like the wave paper on the front of the beach bag. It's really beautiful!! I didn't get the chance to write out the instructions on how to make the beach bag, but it is similar to THIS bag, I just added a top flap that snaps closed. The bag is made with Spellbinders Creative Book Pages dies (thanks again, Shirl!!). The trees are from Life's A Beach, the flip flops are Spellbinders Surf's Up dies inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. The flower is a Spellbinders Rose Creation die using Core Couture paper from Core'dinations, and the gem swirls are from Recollections. The tag is a Nested Pendant die, inked with Spiced Marmalade. "Enjoy the Summer" is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set.

The base of the card is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped square with a Grand square on top. The next three layers are Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents, inked with Spiced Marmalade and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The flower is a Rose Creation in Core Couture paper. "Sending You Sunny Thoughts" is also from Splashtastic Summer:

Kristal also has several awesome new sets available now and she has TWINE!! 100 yards for $5.00 in several beautiful colors!! What a bargain!! Check it out here:

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Getting Cricky to see the amazing projects my talented Design Team sisters have created, and then link up you Summertime project!! You have a whole month...no excuses!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Decorate to Celebrate Beach Party!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #26, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration or party supply for a BEACH PARTY!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about surf, sand and sunshine (my favorites!!) with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my Beach Party, I created a lei, beach ball votive holder and splashtastic party invitation.

The lei was created with flowers from Spellbinders Daisy Flower Toppers dies and DCWV cardstock. I punched holes through the centers of the flowers and used heavy duty brads to anchor the flowers to stretch cord. The center circles are from a small punch and I ran them through the Xyron and glittered them.

The tag is a Tim Holtz die, glittered and stamped with K Andrew Designs "aloha" from the Splashtastic Summer stamp set.

The beach ball votive holder was constructed with one inch strips of paper, hole-punched on the top and bottom, and then woven together and secured at the ends with brads.

The base of the invitation is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle, with a Grand Rectangle on top, embossed with the Plum Blossoms embossing folder. The surfboards are from Spellbinders Surf's Up set, with the top sanded to bring out the design (and make it look like the surfboards are well-used ;) The flowers are Spellbinders Daisy Flower Toppers, with glittered centers to match the lei.

"Beach Party" is from Base Camp, cut at 1". The tag is from Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants. "Splashtastic" is also from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set:

I love just about everything about summer...the sun shining, being outdoors, long days, trips to the beach, camping. And during the summer (and okay, Spring, Fall and Winter when possible ;) I live in flip-flops!! I have sporty ones, dressy ones and everything in between :) So for my project, I created a gift box to hold a summery surprise (I know I still owe a tutorial on making a box and I will get to it soon!!) I embossed the box with the Sizzix Flower Clusters embossing folder...they look like hibiscus. I cut a hibiscus from Life's a Beach three times and pop-dotted between layers to give it dimension. The paper is from Core'dinations Core Couture. I used a Spellbinders banner tag for the sentiment "Enjoy the summer" from Splashtastic Summer.

Inside the box is a pair of flip-flop earrings!! The flip-flops are from Spellbinders Surf's Up dies. The tag is a Marvy Uchida mega-punch, also embossed with Flower Clusters. I added eyelets with my Crop-a-dile. "Sole-sister!" is from Fashionable Friends.

I colored in the white parts with Ranger White Enamel Accents and used platinum Liquid Pearls for the rest. Once they dried, I covered both shoes with Glossy Accents. The black flower is a little cheapy punch and I attached a Paper Studio crystal.

I lightly stamped the back of the earrings with Barn Door Distress ink and then stamped "Aloha" from Splashtastic Summer on both.

I have BLOG CANDY!! I am giving away a set of Pirate Tales and Fish Scales stamps!!

You are sun-sational!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I was hoping to get out today and enjoy the outdoors but thunderstorms are rolling through the area...and it seems they have settled in for the day. Looks like I'll have to head down to my craft room instead ;) I have been having so much fun using Spellbinders for projects, my poor Cricut was getting lonely :( So I decided to use him for this project.

I made this thank you for my parents for the family vacation last week...they paid for everything for all of us :)

The paper is from K & Company Happy Trails stack...love it!! I cut the lighthouse from the same stack, inked the edges with Shabby Shutters Distress ink, and popped it up with foam tape for dimension. The lounging couple are from the Fun in the Sun cartridge, and while that totally could be my Mom wearing a hat and reading a book, I don't think my Dad will truly appreciate the bald man with a little padding around the middle ;) But they are so cute and I love the fun summery images on this cart :) I wanted the sand to stand out a bit, so it's embossed with Swiss Dots and inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The lounging couple are popped up with foam tape as well. I added a green crystal to the top of the lighthouse.

So I obviously couldn't go without using a Spellbinders!! I used a Nestabilities Label 10, and inked the edges with Shabby Shutters. The twine is from The Twinery, and the button from my stash. "Thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set, and "you are sun-sational" is from Splashtastic Summer:

Spring in Manhattan

Happy Friday, everyone!! Can you believe another weekend is upon us?? And March is 2/3 gone. Wow, time flies. I have a card to enter into a few challenges today, and I used the Tony Bennett song "Spring in Manhattan" as my inspiration. I haven't lived in New York for a few years, but I still consider myself part Hoosier, part New Yorker :) I lived upstate, but visited the City as often as possible. There is nothing like Spring in New York City :)

I used the Cricut Craft Room for the first time and I'm not sure about it yet. I purchased the New York set and really wish I could have used my Gypsy. I'm so much more comfortable with it. This cut is of Central Park. I had to cut the layers out so many times because I wasn't sure what they were going to look like with different colors. Plus, the suggested height to cut it out so that it would cut cleanly was 5", so the length is like 10"! This is a big card!!

There is a ton of embossing going on!! I used the Tim Holtz Rays folder for the background; Swiss Dots for the trees, Swirls for the bushes, and Tim Holtz Bricked for the bridge. All of the layers are attached with foam tape for dimension. The tulips hold up the easel card, and are from Walk in My Garden, cut at 1.25". The grass is a Fiskars punch.

"Spring" is from Base Camp, "In" is from George and Basic Shapes, "Manhattan" is from Gypsy Font, and I welded the shadows together with my Gypsy.

The scallops are cut from 3 Birds on Parade. "Sending you Sunny Thoughts" is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set!!

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. Cooking With Cricut #78 - Spring Song Inspired Challenge
  2. DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge - Spring Flowers
  3. My Craft Spot #49 - Spring Scallops
  4. Aud Sentiments Challenge #50 - Song Title - Inspiration
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Getting Cricky Promo Week - Day 5

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday!! Today is the last day of Getting Cricky Promo Week leading up to our Cabin Fever Blog Hop tomorrow night at 9:00 pm EST. My feature cart of the week is Wall Decor and More. One of the benefits of only using one cart all week is finding cuts that I didn't realize were on there!!

I knew about the Eiffel Tower, but I didn't realize the ticket or the film strip were on this cart. The background shapes are Spellbinders Grand Calibur Nestabilities Labels 4. I embossed the black label with the Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder.

I cheated a little and used another cart (shhh, don't tell!!) I wanted 3D flowers for this project so I used Flower Shoppe to cut these three beauties!!

I love film strips!! I have wanted to purchase the Tim Holtz die but haven't gotten around to it. Now I'm glad I didn't :) "Dream" and "Faith" are from the K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set. "Hope" is from Splashtastic Summer:

And "You are the weaver of your own dreams" is from Positive Thoughts:

Click HERE to purchase your own set of these stamps or to see the entire fabulous line of K Andrew Designs stamp sets!!
