Getting Cricky Design Team Post - Of Mice & Lil' Men

To Enter my 1,000 Follower Giveaway, Click HERE

Happy Wednesday!! I hope the first part of the week was awesome for you!! It's my turn to design again at Getting Cricky. The stamp set I am featuring today is Of Mice & Lil' Men. The sentiments on here are perfect for Disney-related projects, but I wanted to show that they can be used for so much more :)

All of the paper used for this project was heavy-duty white cardstock. The base of the card is a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle die, followed by a Spellbinders Labels Eight die, embossed with a Spellbinders M-Bossabillity Whimsey folder, sanded and inked with Spun Sugar, Festive Berries and Fired Brick Distress Inks. The ribbon is from May Arts. Recollections gems were added to the corners and the middle label.

The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels Twenty One die, also embossed with the Whimsey folder. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five die, inked with Spun Sugar, Festive Berries and Fired Brick. Once the inks dried I placed a stencil over the label and used something that I completely forgot I had in my craft room...stencil paste. It's probably been like five years since I used it last and I was sure it would be dried out. Thankfully it wasn't :) So it was slathered it on for a cool textured look.

The base of the center label is a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three die, inked with the same three distress inks as above. The middle tag is a  Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large die, inked with Spun Sugar. "Dreams do come true" was stamped in Festive Berries and is from K Andrew Designs Of Mice & Lil' Men stamp set:

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge - All About Disney

Happy Sunday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky!! Today's challenges is a special one...Getting Cricky is the last stop on the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!!

For my card today, I used one of my all-time favorite Disney charterers...Ariel, the Little Mermaid :) (Shocking, no??!!) I just love this cut from Disney Dreams Come True!! But....I cut it at 5" and still had to draw on the eyes because they wouldn't cut cleanly. Sigh. The Disney cuts are the hardest for me.

The base of the card is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle, cut with sparkly cloud paper from DCWV's Paper Playtime stack. I layered a smaller Grand Scalloped Rectangle with Ivory cardstock from my stash, and the adhered a Grand Rectangle on top.

I fell in love with this cut the first time I saw it on the Disney Dreams Come True cartridge!! I used a mixture of Core'dinations Core couture for her tail, red paper from the DCWV Metallic stack for her hair, and the rest from my stash.

The heart is from K Andrew Designs I Heart You stamp set, stamped in Barn Door Distress Ink. I added crystals from The paper studio around the edge. "You're my Hero" is from K Andrew Designs Of Mice & Lil' Men stamp set!! This is one of my favorites...such fun sentiments you can use for a wide variety of projects!!

Click HERE to purchase your own set of K Andrew Design stamps!! And make sure you check out the three newest sets available for preorder!!

I used George and Basic Shapes for the larger hearts, cut with Core'dinations Core Couture. The ribbon is from Michaels, with a crystal gem attached to the center.

The gems are from Recollections, the organza ribbon from Michaels and the button and fiber from my stash.

I  used a Shapeabilities Fancy Tag and a Scalloped Rectangle for the sentiment. "When you wish upon a star" is from K Andrew Designs Of Mice and Lil' Men stamp set, inked with Wild Honey. You're Incredible!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I am still at my conference, hoping this auto post works. It did on Friday, so keeping my fingers crossed :) I have a thank you card to share with you today :)

All of the paper is from Prima Madeline Collection. I used a Grand Nestabilities Scalloped Square for the base and a Grand Nestabilities for the bottom layer.

I am in love with the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die!! I used it for the frame, and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The inside box is a Nestabilities Square die, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and I have no idea what the name of it is...it came in a set. I lightly sanded it to bring out the texture. The gems are from recollections...and I just love being able to coordinate the curve in the gems with the scalloped edges of the base.

"You're Incredible!" is from K Andrew Designs Of Mice and Lil Men stamp set.

The inside label is a Spellbinders Label 5, with "Thanks" from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I'm heading home tomorrow and will be by to visit you soon :)

Dreams Do Come True and Blog Award Thanks!!

Happy Saturday and last day of March, everyone!! I had this post all ready to go yesterday and when I opened the draft this morning, it was completely empty!! The title was fine but no post whatsoever...grrr, how frustrating. I don't have any idea what happened...if it is linked to the new Blogger upgrade, which I'm not fond of yet. I was going to schedule all of my posts for next week when I'm gone, but now I'm afraid to...I don't want to do all that work only to have them disappear again :( Has this happened to anyone else??

I  have a card to enter into Diana's 3 x 3 Thankful Thursday challenge. (Okay, my card possibly measures 3.25 x 3.25 with the scalloped edges...I hope it still counts!!). I want to sincerely thank Beate for instructions on how to make a shaped card using Spellbinders!! I love this method...so much easier than what I was doing!! I used my favorite Pink Paislee paper from the Butterfly Collection. The base is the largest Spellbinders Lacy Square. I cut a Classic Square and sewed it to the Lacy Square.

Using the colors from Diana's card as inspiration, I used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink to bring out the green in the paper, Tumbled Glass to bring out the blue and Wild Honey for the yellow. The shape in the middle is from Spellbinders Parisian Accents and I cut a Standard Circle in the same size to stamp "Dreams do come true" from K Andrew Designs newest stamp set, Of Mice & Lil Men. I know I say this about all of her stamps but this one is my favorite!! Click HERE to purchase your own set :) I popped it up with foam tape for dimension, and the butterfly as well. Both the butterfly on the front and...

the one on the inside are the smallest of Spellbinders Nested Butterflies.

What a Wonderful World ATC!!

Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend!! Three of my friends are hosting challenges that I wanted to enter, so I kept all three criteria in mind while making my project today :)

I made an ATC to enter into Diana's challenge, I used yellow for Karen, and just elements, no die cuts for Chris...that was soooo hard for me!! AND, I just realized I missed the deadline by a few hours :( Sorry, Chris...I really wanted to participate!! I started with black cardstock measuring 2.5 x 3.5 and then added two layers of beautiful paper from DCWV's Colorful Life stack. This paper has tons of sparkle but you can't tell in the pictures. I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink.

I hand-cut elements from different sheets of the paper stack to use, including the butterfly, the sparkly white dot, the music note paper and the circle with sweet life. I know ATC's are supposed to be relatively flat, but I couldn't resist adding one teeny tiny piece of foam tape to pop up a sweet life over the butterfly.

"What a Wonderful World" is from K Andrew Designs newest stamp set, Of Mice & Lil Men!! I absolutely LOVE this set!! So many fun sentiments that are perfect not only for Disney cards, but so much more!! I stamped the sentiment, then cut around the individual words and matted them on black cardstock. "Wonderful" was stamped over raised sparkly rays and I love the dimension it added, but again, hard to see in the picture. Here is the awesome stamp set I used:

Click HERE to pre-order your own set, but hurry!! She only has a limited number available for shipping on April 1st!!

I am entering the ATC in the following challenges
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - use yellow
  2. DL.Art - ATC card
I have some people to thank for blog awards, and I will do that later this week. Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
