Bloom Where You're Planted

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I've been out of town for a few days so I'm hoping this posts when it is supposed to :) It's my turn to post on the Craftin Desert Divas blog and I have a card to share with you using the new Blooming For You stamp set.

The papers are from Prima's Natures Garden stack. The edges were distressed with a DIA. The strip of butterflies down the side is Tim Holtz Tissue Tape.

The stamp is a Tim Holtz Spring Sprung. It was stamped with Wendy Vecchi Fern Green Archival Ink and then stamped again without reinking for s ghosting effect. The butterflies are a punch and they were covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die.

The frame is from The Paper Studio Spare Parts. Bloom Where You're Planted is from the Blooming for You stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder to match the frame.

You can purchase this stamp set, as well as all of the stamps at the Craftin Desert Divas Shop. And we would love to see your projects using any of the stamp sets in our Craftin Desert Divas Gallery.

I do have a Valentine's Day project to share with you today. I had hoped to have a couple more this week, but time got away from me. February is flying by as fast as January :)

I love these thick chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby. It looks a little crooked in the picture...I guess I didn't get the bottom of the lightbox straight :) The papers are from my Mind's Eye Love Me stack.

This adorable Cupid is a Die-Versions Sweet Petite die. Isn't he cute??!! You can find him HERE. He was covered in Recollections Blaze Embossing Powder. I just love the sparkle it gives.

The flowers are from Prima. The center button is a Spellbinders Home Sweet Home die, cut in Core'dinations Core Couture paper.

The hearts are Tim Holtz dies. Heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp was covered in Tim's Tissue Tape. They were then inked with TH's Barn Door and Fired Brick Distress Inks, and then Black Soot on the edges.

It's All Perspective

Happy Thursday and last day of February!! The weekend is almost here!! Another week that has flown by :)

The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show is the stamp set you love, but don't use. I absolutely love this image of David from the Tim Holtz Artful Artifacts stamp set. It was the reason I bought the set, but I've never used it. So I chose it for my project today. Actually, I used all four stamps from the set :)

The base of the card is watercolor paper. Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Old Paper, Walnut, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Antique Linen were dabbed onto a craft sheet, sprayed with water and the paper was inked with the stains. Once it dried, David was stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. A TH Distress Marker in Vintage Photo was used for the hair, Forest Moss for the eye, and Victorian Velvet for the lips. A water brush was used on all the Distress Markers for a lighter, watercolor look. Another David was stamped on a separate sheet of paper and cut out to create a mask. It was placed over the image and the alphabet stamp from the Artful Artifacts set was stamped with Tea Die Distress Ink. The flourish along the top and pen nibs on the bottom were stamped with Walnut Distress Ink. TH Commute Tissue Tape was applied  and then the edges were all inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The watercolor paper was then adhered to black cardstock from The Paper Studio with adhesive and a TH Tiny Attacher.

It's all Perspective is from the TH Good Thoughts stamp set, stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. The metal flower is from TH's Idea-ology Foliage Flower Leaves.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Merry Christmas Tag

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I'm still out of town, but have this set to auto-post. I should be home tonight so I will be stopping by to visit in the next couple of days :) I wanted to enter the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp & Show. The theme is "Inspired by Tim's 12 Tags"...and you can use any of his past tags for inspiration. I chose his Day 6 tag from 2010. Here is my take:

I chose to recreate this tag because not only do I love it, but I actually have most of the materials to make it :) The tag was cut from Tim's Tag & Bookplate die on Canvas Corp heavyweight cardstock. The porcelain crackle stamp from TH's Joyful Song was stamped on the Tall Pines Texture Fade embossing folder in Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and then the tag was embossed. The tag was then sponged with Broken China and Weathered Wood Distress Ink. The edges were distressed with TH's Tonic Edge Distresser and inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The tree tops were inked with Forest Moss Distress Ink, and the trunks with Vintage Photo. The dots stamp from TH's Psychedelic Grunge stamp set was inked with TH's Antique Bronze Distress stain and applied randomly to the background.

The deer was cut from TH's Reindeer Flight die in Grungeboard, and then embossed with a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder. It was inked with Snow Cap Paint Dabber and once it was dry, sanded with TH's Sanding Grip. It was then sponged with Weathered Wood. The antlers were cut from TH's Branch Tree die and inked with Vintage Photo. The wreath is a pipe cleaner with a bell on the end from Joann's $1 bin. The wander charm at the top is from TH's Philosophy Tag.

TH's Tissue Tape was applied to the bottom. The Merry Christmas Tag is from TH's Odds and Ends stamp set, stamped on a TH Journaling Ticket. It was stamped in Fired Brick Distress Ink and then embossed with Recollections Blaze embossing powder. This powder is so awesome...it's red and gold mixed together for a beautiful embossed look!!

Here is Tim's tag I used for inspiration:

I am entering the tag in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp & Show - Inspired by Tim's 12 Tags
  2. DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday #4 - Anything Goes
  4. DJ's Sundries - Tag Challenge
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Getting Cricky Design Team Post - It's Valentines

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! It has been scorching hot here...in the 100's...we're having a heat wave!! :( No playing outside, so hopefully I'll get some crafting time in :) It's my turn to design at Getting Cricky and today, we are featuring the It's Valentines stamp set.

I threw in a bunch of Tim Holtz techniques for my tag today. The tag was white when I started, and I used a TH swirl stamp inked with an Adirnodack Paint Dabber in Snow Cap. A music notes background stamp from My Paper Studio in Mahogany Distress Ink was stamped next and once the ink dried, it was wiped from the white swirls. Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress ink were sponged on next, and then wiped off.

Only You is from It's Valentines. The frame is from TH, filled with Glossy Accents.

The filmstrip is from TH, as are the grungeboard wings, which I covered in TH music note tissue tape.  The grungeboard heart was inked with Barn Door Distress ink and then covered with Rock Candy Crackle Distress Paint and then inked with Mahogany Distress Ink once it cracked. The tag is a Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements tag, inked with Vintage Photo. Sweetheart is also from It's Valentines:

Here's a sneak peek at my other featured card. Head on over to Getting Cricky to see it and the incredible projects my talented design team sister Jessie  has created!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend :)
