DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #196 - Winter

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I seemed to have picked up a touch of food poisoning, so I may not be around to visit you for a couple of days :( It's time for a new Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART and the theme this week is Winter. You could always substitute a Thank You card. If you use the code l01210, Diana will give you 10% off your order at DL.ART.

Since I'm not feeling the greatest, I'm going to be very brief with the ingredients of this card. I used a Sue Wilson Tag to cut the scene from Maja Designs papers. Blue and White Twine from the DL.ART Shop was added. The trees are Tim Holtz Tree Line and the snowflakes are Precious Marieke Snowflake Border. A Tim Holtz embossing folder was used for the background.

Tucked under the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers is a bow made from Pure Love ribbon from The Valentine Bundle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be by to visit when I feel better. Have a great day :)

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - April

Happy Wednesday!! I have a quick post to share with you my April Tag to play along with the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 challenge (I'm four for four this year :)

You can see the instructions for the tag HERE. Boy, I struggled with this one. Usually I have at least part of the supplies, but I had practically zero for this one, so I had to improvise almost the entire tag. I used Tim's Texture Fade embossing folder for the background and his Sewing Room dress form for the feature die.

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags of  2016 Challenge. I'll be back later this morning with my Scrapy Land project!!

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #28 - Embossing

Happy Wednesday!! I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I'm still trying to get caught up from being gone for so long. It's time for another Scrapy Land Blog Challenge. For this challenge, we want to see your embossing projects (heat or dry), using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from :)

For these cards, I started with a Tim Holtz Distressed Brick embossing folder. I spritzed pink cardstock with water before I embossed it to bring out the texture then stitched it to the base. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

The flowers are clustered over a Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Doily die. Cheery Lynn Dandelion dies were tucked among the blooms.

The sentiment banner is a Taylored Expression Banner Stacklets 1 die. The sentiments were heat embossed with Lana Pink Embossing Powder from Sparkle & Sprinkle. The butterflies are Memory Box Pippi and Memory Box Isabella dies, covered in Doodlebug Sugar Coating. The button on the crinkle ribbon is a Poppystamps Stitched Button die.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1) Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday - Anything Goes
2) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
3) Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
4) Sparkle N Sprinkle October Challenge - Anything Goes w/glitter, ep, flocking

Love

Happy Friday!! I hope you have fun plans for the first weekend in May!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I'd love for you to stop by and say hi :)

The card I'm sharing with you today uses several Die-Versions dies, including the new Butterfly Border Punch die from the newest release. I started with heavyweight black and white cardstock and distressed the edges with a Zutter DIA.

The yellow paper is from Authentique. It was embossed with a TH Sizzex Regal Flourishes Texture Fade. The edges were distressed as well. The arrow is a Die-Versions This Way Wee Petite die. It was cut once in white and once in black and offset for a shadow effect. It was popped up with foam tape for dimension. "Love" is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 3 stamp set. The heart is a Die-Versions Heart Doodles Wee Petite die. It was covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating and popped up with foam tape. The buttons on the bow and the two at the bottom of the page are Die-Versions Buttons Wee Petites dies. The flowers are a mixture of Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and The Paper Studio. A Die-Versions Daisy Flair die was cut in vellum and tucked among the blooms.

The Butterfly Border Punch die has quickly become my favorite. I cut it with the yellow paper and then embossed the white paper. I then placed the yellow over the white and the embossed butterflies pop right through the cut-outs. I added crystal gems from Recollections. I added a couple of the punched out butterflies to the banners made from crinkle ribbon.

Miss You

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a project to share with you today using the new Miss You Sweet Phrases die from the March release, which is also a fundraising project for Operation Write Home.

I really enjoyed making the sunburst cards for the joint Die-Versions / Operation Write Home Blog hop, but I used patterned paper for those. In trying to come up with ways to make more cards for OWH while following their guidelines and not adding too many bulky layers (and you know how much I love layers!!), I thought the sunburst pattern would work well with embossing...adding texture without bulk.

I used several different embossing folders for both cards, all Tim Holtz Texture Fades.

For the Miss You Sweet Phrases tag, I embossed the paper first and then cut it with the die so the embossing is very subtle. I then used the die to just emboss the red paper so that it fit perfectly inside the tag.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - March Linky
  2. Every Day is an Occasion - March Linky
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - March Linky
  4. Funday Friday #40 - Anything Goes
Also, you still time to hop along with our blog hop with Operation Write Home...but hurry - you have until midnight (PT) tomorrow, Saturday, March 15th to leave your comments for a chance to win!! The hop starts HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! How are your Christmas preparations coming along?? I'm still so far behind :( But I do have a card to share with you today :)

I have a few Christmas cards to post in the next week or so, starting with this one. Sorry the picture is a bit dark...I took it a few weeks ago and sent it already before realizing the settings weren't correct :/ The base and layers are Spellbinders Card Creator Dies A & B. The top layer was embossed with a Tim Holtz Sheet Music Texture Fade Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas set, stamped with TH Festive Berries Distress Ink on a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die.

The wings are a TH Layered Angel Wings die, embossed with the matching TH Wings Embossing Folder. Each layer was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The angel on the inside is from TH's Joyful Song stamp set. The sentiment is from the same My Craft Spot Joy Filled Christmas set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Stamp it Up 2013
  2. Craftin Desert Divas - Christmas
  3. DL.Art - Christmas
  4. DL.Art - December Linky
  5. Sunday Funday - December Linky
  6. Just B Creative Crazy - December Linky
  7. 2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter

I was looking out my window the other day and saw this guy scrounging around in the snow...in daylight!!

I hurried outside with my camera and scared the poor little guy up a tree!!

But I was able to get some close-up shots of him!!

He stopped to pose for me :)

Look at those daggers!! His claws are deadly...I'm glad he scurried up a tree instead of at me!!

Please be sure to stop by Craftin Desert Divas tomorrow for the winners of the Holly Jolly Blog Hop!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy holiday season my friends :)

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Day at the Beach

For the Prima Doll Blog Hop, click HERE

Happy Friday!! Another week that flew by in the blink of an eye!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend :)

It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces. The theme this week is one of my favorites - Day at the Beach. There is nowhere else I'd rather be than the beach :)

The inspiration for this easel card is a row of colorful cottages I passed once on Cape Cod. The beach huts are from Artistic Outpost's Boardwalk stamp set. They were colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a TH waterbrush in Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade.

The hut was then stamped on Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mask Sheets and then the huts were covered with the masks so the sand, water and clouds could be inked. The sand is Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, the water Salty Ocean and the sky around the clouds is Tumbled Glass. Water was then flicked on the paper for a distressed look.

The boardwalk was created with Kraft paper and a TH Wood Grain Embossing Folder. The embossing was inked with Gathered Twigs and it was cut into strips to resemble wood planks. The two stamps are from the same Artistic Outpost set. The tag on the left is a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die an the center tag is a Spellbinders Grommet Tag die. The edges of the tags were inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Artistic Outpost - August Referral Program
  2. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party
  5. Fun-Day Friday Challenge #12 - H20
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Little Scrap Pieces to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Day at the Beach project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Tag, You're It!!

Happy Friday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! I seriously can't believe it's August already. My gosh, I feel like I blink and a week goes by :)

The theme this week at Little Scrap Pieces is Tag, You're It!! We want to see your tags or projects that use a tag.

The tag was cut with a Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplate Die with Strathmore Watercolor Paper. It was embossed with the Tim Holtz French Script Texture Fade and I followed Tim's instructions and cut a slit in the top of the folder to pull the tag through. The tag was spritzed with water and then colored with TH Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stains. Once the ink dried, the tag was sanded to remove the color from the embossing. The edges were inked with TH Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. TH Tissue Paper was adhered to cardstock and then cut with a Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary die. It was inked with Wild Honey and Fired Brick Distress Ink. Another bird was cut with cardstock inked with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and was then offset and adhered with foam tape for dimension. All of the edges of the bird were inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. The branch is a Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements die cut in Kraft paper and inked with Gathered Twigs. The branch was outlined with charcoal. The ribbon is TH Crinkle Ribbon, inked with Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stains.

The sentiment is from Dylusions Quintessential Quotes stamp set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party
Thanks so much for stopping by :)
