Mixed Media Christmas Ornaments

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! They're just flying by, aren't they? Christmas will truly be here before we know it. I should be working on Christmas cards but instead, I have a couple of mixed media ornaments to share with you today :)

I picked up the chipboard ornaments for this project from Hobby Lobby.

I covered this one with Golden Crackle Paste in a thick layer. Once it dried and cracked, I covered it with red acrylic paint, waited a few minutes and then wiped the paint off so that it just filled the cracks. The snowflake on the bottom is a Memory Box Alipine Snowflake die and it was covered with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I cut the Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight die in grungeboard and painted him with brown acrylic paint. Once he dried, I covered him with Deco Art Crackle Glaze. Once the cracks appeared, I used Viva Inka Metallic Gold to highlight the cracks. The Tim Holtz Pine Trees were covered with Stampendous Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel.

The poinsettia was cut from a Spellbinders Poinsettia die. Every other layer was embossed with Shabby White Embossing Enamel. The berries in the center are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This ornament was first covered with black gesso and then red acrylic paint. Deco Art Crackle Glaze was applied all over and once it dried, white acrylic paint was used to bring out the cracks.

The pine branches are Impression Obsession Pine Branch dies. They were covered with Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel and with Liquitex Glass Beads. Texture Paste was applied through a Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil. Joy is a Memory Box die and it was covered with the Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I'm entering these in the following challenges:

2) LSP Show it Off Saturday - Anything Goes
3) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
4) Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #168 - Thanksgiving

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a Thankful Thursday challenge at DL.ART. The theme for this challenge is "Thanksgiving." Use the code l01201 to receive 10% off your order at the DL.ART Shop.

For my card, I created a Thanksgiving ribbon turkey. I saw these on Pinterest, so I can't take any credit. I had to improvise and use a Die-Versions Build an Owl die for my turkey body :) I used several different ribbons from the DL.ART shop: Caribbean Coral from the Tropical Summer Bundle, Green Leaf from Fall Bundle, RAO Red from The Newspaper Bundle and Burnt Leaf from the Fall Bundle.

Grateful and the grass are My Creative Time dies. The background doily is a X-Cut die. The papers are old DCWV.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Thanksgiving project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Disco Fever

Happy Monday!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a card to share with you using one of the dies from the new Retro Release. This is such a fun release, and if you use the code lisa15, you'll get 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order :)

I love the Whispers Retro Dancers. They totally reminded me of the old Saturday Night Fever movie posters, so I just had to dress the guy in the middle like Tony Manero (John Travolta) :) I used several different glitters from Sparkle N Sprinkle for all of the shimmer, and foam tape for dimension. The dancers are getting their groove on under the Whispers Retro Disco Ball. The Disco letters are also from the Retro Disco Ball die.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. LSP Show It Off Saturday - A/G
2. Sparkle N Sprinkle November Challenge - A/G

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
