Scrapy Land Challenge #43 - Anything Goes

This is my second post of the day...for the DL.ART June Linky post, click HERE.

Happy Wednesday!! The first Wednesday of the month means a new challenge at Scrapy Land!! The theme for challenge #43 is Anything Goes plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from!! You could win a $15 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land.

My cards today are ones I promised a few weeks ago :) My regular followers might remember the box I created for Jo's Scrap Shack's Blog Hop. The theme for the hop was Anything But a Card, but I thought I'd make some cards to go with the box, so here they are :)

Just to refresh your memories, here is the box.

And the matching card. Again I used papers from Lemoncraft's Neverending Summer stack. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Texture paste was applied through a stencil (and just like the box, I am completely blanking on which one I used).

A Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily was used behind a Memory Box Stitched Nested Squares die.

Behind the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers are Memory Box Chloe Stems, Cherry Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish dies and Sue Wilson Mosiac Leaves. The banner is a LaLa Land Stitched Elements die. The butterflies are Memory Box Isabella and Impression Obsession Butterfly dies.

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #32 - Holidays

Happy Wednesday!! My goodness, the days just flying by as Christmas rapidly approaches. I'm so not ready!! But I am ready for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land and the theme for this challenge is appropriate: Holidays plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries (there are over 40 to choose from).

For this shabby chic Christmas card, I used papers from one of last year's The Paper Studio Christmas packs. I added a layer of tulle between the bottom two layers. A Spellbinders Curved Borders 1 Die was used on the white cardstock that was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder. A La-La Land Heart Banner was tucked beneath a Memory Box Stitched Circle die. The Heart Banner was embossed with Shabby White Embossing enamel. The sentiment banner is a La-La Land Stitched Element die. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot (no longer in business), heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

The button is a Poppy Stamps Stitched Button die. The bell was covered with gesso and then DecoArt Snow Writer, which I also used around the card. Big thanks to Pamellia of My Little Craft Things for introducing the Snow Writer to me :) Tucked under the flowers are Memory Box Shrewsbury Stems.

The flowers were created with a Spellbinders Poinsettia die. To get the wrinkled look, I wet the paper and when it was damp, but not so wet that it would tear, I wrapped the petals around the handle of a paintbrush. Then I took a pair of flat-edged pliers and squeezed the edges together. It was time-consuming, but I love the look :)

Celebrate!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a great weekend. It's a nice one here...temps in the mid-80's with low humidity. We even had an afternoon thunderstorm :)

I have a couple of cards to share with you today using gorgeous baby's breath sent to me by my sweet friend Samra!! I am in love with the baby's breath...it adds such a dreamy quality to the cards!! Thank you again, Samra :)

For these cards I started with a Tim Holtz Distressed Brick embossing folder. This bricks on this one were inked with TH Victorian Velvet Distress ink. The clock is a Kaisercraft Clock die. The banner is a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 die. It was stamped with a Darkroom Doors Script die and then heat embossed with Sparkle n Sprinkle White Embossing Powder. It was then inked with TH Spun Sugar Distress Ink. The sentiment tag is a LaLa Land Stitched Elements die. Celebrate is from Inspired by Stamping. The largest butterfly is a Memory Box Isabella die. The smaller butterflies are from Impression Obsession Butterfly Set.

This one is pretty much the same, except I switched up the inking...the bricks of this one were inked with TH Spun Sugar and the rest of the elements were inked with TH Victorian Velvet. Memory Box Chloe Stems were tucked among the Wild Orchid Crafts blooms. The gorgeous ribbon is Pink Champagne from DL.ART's Vintage Vinyard Bundle. Stampendous Frantage was sprinkled around and heat embossed from beneath the card.

Sweet Friend!!

Happy Friday!! Wow, another week down...where do the days go? I have a couple of cards to share with you using some gorgeous new crinkle ribbon made by my sweet friend Diana of DL.ART!! Most of you know I have a slight obsession with crinkle ribbon, so I was so excited when Diana started making it!! If you haven't checked out her new line of ribbon, you're missing out!! You can see all of the amazing colors HERE. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and the quality is excellent!! You will love using this ribbon :)

For these cards, I'm using ribbon from Diana's Tropical Summer bundle. I started with Tim Holtz Distress Specialty Stamping Paper. I heat embossed the stamp from Tim's Papillion stamp set with White Embossing Powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. The Eiffel Tower is a LaLa Land die, covered with TH Distress Glitter. I cut black craft foam and offset it to give the tower a shadow and some dimension (thanks again for the craft foam tip, Anne!!).

For this card, I used TH Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA and then inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

This gorgeous ribbon is called Aruba Blue. Isn't the color fabulous??!! The sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps, and it was stamped on a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklet 1 die. I used the TH embossing folder that matches the background stamp on the inside of the card.

For this card, I used Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade. Cherry Lynn Right and Left Flourish dies were used beneath the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. Another Just Rite sentiment was stamped on a LaLa Land Stitched Elements tag. This stunning ribbon is called Caribbean Coral.

My Sheri Crafts Guest Designer

Happy Saturday and happy spring!! Yay - spring is finally here!! I'm so excited to be a guest designer at My Sheri Crafts today!! The theme for the challenge #13 is Easter Wishes, featuring either a cross, bunnies or eggs.

For my card, I chose to use a cross. The papers are from Heartfelt Creations. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Memory Box Botanical Stems and Chloe Stems were tucked among the blooms. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

A Spellbinders Opulent Oval was used for the base with a La La Land Stitched Elements Oval on top. I hand-cut the cross from heavyweight watercolor paper. It was covered with Wendy Vecchi Black Embossing Paste. Once the paste dried, the cross was covered with Wendy Vecchi Crackle Texture Paste. After the cracks appeared, it was covered with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac. It was then popped up with foam tape. The banner is from My Craft Spot. The letters for He is Risen were cut from a Die-Versions A Little Mint die set. I added a layer of double-sided tape when I cut the banner and after the letters were added, it was covered with sugar coating for a nice sparkle.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) DL.Art - March Linky
2) Scrappin4Fun Challenges - Spring or Easter

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)
