Tonight on the Ustream, you saw previews for THREE brand new sets!! Weren't they wonderful???
For my first project, I'd like to share the "Coffee & Tea For You & Me" set...
I know this is a coffee and tea set of stamps, but it has other non-beverage sentiments that are equally fabulous! For this easel birthday card, I used paper from the DCWV Playtime stack. I cut out the window from Elegant Edges and then cut a frame to frame the opening. The bird is from Sophisticated, and I stamped her with Ranger Perfect Medium and then heat embossed her with Holographic Embossing Powder to give her a nice sparkly sheen. I attached her with foam tape. The banner is also from Sophisticated, also attached with foam tape. I welded the base of the banner together on my Gypsy. The flowers on the banner are from a punch in my stash and I added small pearl brads. To show you how versatile these mix and match stamps are, I used "have a" and then for "great", I simply taped over the word "day" that followed, and added "birthday". I inked the stamps and then removed the tape to get this awesome sentiment! I stamped it on a the same design paper and cut another frame to surround it. I then lined up the paper so it matched the base and attached it with foam tape. I cut a couple of flowers from the paper and adhered them with foam tape to give dimension. I added pearl brads to hold the easel in place and added gems with my iRock.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
For my second project, I'd like to share the "Winged Things" set...
I decided to make a colorful wall hanging for this project. I used paper from My Mind's Eye (orange); Core Couture (red); K & Company (base of butterfly); and DCWV Performance Stack (the deep red, almost black). I cut the flower from Forever Young at 7" in cardboard first to give it some strength.
The butterfly is from Picturesque and I cut it at 2 1/2". I added pearls and only adhered it to the paper in the center so the wings look like they are in flight.
I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die to cut the tags, and the clips are curtain hangers that I had in my stash. This set has so many awesome sayings, I had a hard time choosing which to use! I decided upon "If there were no change, there would be no butterflies". I also used the pretty butterfly stamp from this set. I added crystals with my iRock and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink.
For my third project, I'd like to share the "Sympathetic Sayings" set...
For me, one of the hardest cards to make is a sympathy card. It is hard to know just what to say to someone when they have experienced a loss. This stamp set takes care of that with some absolutely beautiful sentiments.
I used paper from the DCWV Natural Stack for this one. I embossed the white paper with a Cuttlebug embossing folder (I don't actually know the name of this one, but I love it...it came in a set). I cut the paper into three strips and adhered it to a slightly darker pearl paper. I then adhered that to a light gold color. I used a Cuttlebug die to cut the tag and adhered it with Hobby Lobby Ribbon, and used the sentiment "Time heals all things". I added some pearl bling to the bottom of the card.
Okay, I know this was a long post, but if you are still with me...
