Lazy Days Tent Card

Happy Saturday, everyone! There are only a few hours left to sign up for my Cricut cart giveaway! Click HERE to enter. The giveaway ends at midnight EST. I will announce the winner sometime tomorrow :)

I love learning new card techniques. Erika at Crafty Sprouts has an awesome video with a tutorial on how to make a tent card. After watching, I had to try one! I am also linking this card at Rebecca's blog The Crafting Misfit for her new Show and Tell feature!
I love this tree from Heritage. It just screamed that it needed a swing hanging from it's sturdy branches. I made a swing with twine and a toothpick. I positioned the hole in the card behind the swing so there is plenty of room for it to swing back and forth. I used the Tim Holtz woodgrain folder for the trunk of the tree. I sanded it and then added walnut distress ink to bring out the texture. I ran the leaves through a Sizzex embossing folder (not sure of the name of this one) and inked the edges with walnut distress ink. I adhered the leaves with foam tape to give some dimension.
Recipe:
  • K & Company - Que Sera Sera paper
  • Heritage Cart - tree at 3"
  • Walk in My Garden Cart - flowers at 1"
  • Spellbinders Nestability Die - circle cutout and frame
  • Tim Holtz Woodgrain Embossing Folder - tree trunk
  • Sizzix Embossing Folder - tree leaves
  • Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink - tree and edges
  • The Twinery - twine for the swing
  • K Andrew Splash-tastic Summer Stamp - Click HERE to purchase your own set
  • Foam Tape - adhered the leaves and sentiment
  • iRock - crystals on the flowers
Be sure to stop by Erika's blog Crafty Sprouts and check out her Tent Card Tutorial and Rebecca's blog The Crafting Misfit for her Show and Tell Feature! Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow to see if you've won the Picturesque cartridge :)
