DL.ART August Linky Challenge

Happy August!! Wow, where are the days going?? A new month means a new month-long linky party at DL.ART. As always, the monthly challenges are Anything Goes. If you use the code l01210, you'll get 10% off your purchase at DL.ART.

I was dreaming of an ocean vacation when I created these cards :) The papers are from an old K&Company Happy Trails stack. I used a Tim Holtz Bubbles stencil and Texture paste to add a bit of dimension to the background.

The next layer is a piece of corrugated cardboard from DCWV's Corrugated Neutrals stack over some cheesecloth to represent netting.

The tree is from LaLa Land. I cut the fronds twice for dimension. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. This gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Peach from the 2016 Spring Bundle.

This beautiful crinkle ribbon is Green Hue from Mermaid's Tale Third Edition. The My Creative Stitched Leaves dies and Memory Box Chloe Stems were cut in white burlap. In order for the burlap to not fray, I covered the back with clear packaging tape. The waves are a Make a Splash die from My Creative Time. The banner is a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklet 1 die. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

The Adirondack Chair is from Die-Versions. I wanted it to have a weathered, by-the-sea look, so I cut it in grungeboard and then covered it in beige acrylic paint. Using the Andy Skinner method, after it dried, I coated it with DecoArt Weathered Wood and then DecoArt Crackle Paste. Once it had cracked and dried, I rubbed DecoArt Media Antiquing Cream in Raw Umber to highlight the cracks.

I'm linking this up with the following challenges:

1) Frilly & Funky - By the Sea
2) Little Scrap Pieces - Show if Off Saturday
3) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
4) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -Anything Goes

Now it's your turn. Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Anything Goes projects. I can't wait to see what you create :)

Oooh, I've been anticipating this all weekend Lisa my friend, and, as usual, you don't disappoint! Those little beach chairs are so adorable with their crackle finish (just like they would if they were out in the sunshine a lot) and the gauze conjures up visions of discarded fishing nets! I LOVE both colour schemes, they are fresh and light! Thank you for painting a 3D work of art again! Have a wonderful week my friend! Hazel xx

Oooooo, these are so beautiful Lisa! I love the colors and all of the layers. The distress crackle chairs look spot on since that is exactly what the salt air does to things in Florida.

Hi Lisa, I saw these cards on DL.Art, had to come over and get a closer look. I did not know that you could buy corrugated cardboard. I always just save some from packaging. I will have to look into that. I love the dimensional look of this card. I especially love the chair! It makes me feel like summer!

Hugs,
Chriss

Beautiful cards and so dreamy! It makes me wish I could pull up one of those chairs on the beach and sip on a cold one, lol! Especially after a day of 85 degrees and high humidity!
I just love your layers, papers and the amazing chair die! The crackling effect looks amazing! As always, you nailed it! Where do you come up with these amazing designs and where do you find the time??! I would love to find a little more time to craft, but these little ones have stolen my heart and I just can't get enough of them, hehe! I am hoping this fall I can get Arya a little more into crafts and have a couple craft days with her and maybe that would help?
Hope you have a wonderful day~it is raining right now~thunderstorms in the forecast for today and then clearing out with temps in the high 80's~
Hugs,
Sherrie K
