Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot!! This week, the challenge is to use sequins...how fun!! I just love using sequins on projects :)

For this card, the patterned paper is from The Paper Studio. The white paper is heavy weight cardstock from TPS, embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The holes were cut with My Craft Spot Tiny Doily Dies, which were also used to frame the holes.

All three sentiments are from MCS's Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set. The holes were filled with MCS Snow Flurries sequins, a touch of glitter and a bit of silver glass beads.

Snowflakes were cut from the MCS Small Alphabet set and covered with Sugar Coating. They were adhered randomly, along with more Snow Flurries sequins. The ribbon is MCS Scarlet Red Crinkle Ribbon.

Bride and Groom!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I'd love for you to stop by and say hi :)

I have two cards to share with you using the newest dies from the May Wedding Bells and Father's Day release. The first card features the beautiful Floral Bride and Groom Whispers Die.  It was cut in black cardstock, adorned with crystals and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The flowers are from Prima and the black ribbon is from my stash.

The new Sweet Spots Bride and Groom Die was added to the top. The bottom border was created with a Whispers Lacey Dots die. The gem strip is from The Paper Studio.

For the second card, I wanted to feature the gorgeous Whispers Wedding Dress Die again!! I just love this - it's so elegant and beautiful :) The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Many Greetings Stamp set.

The papers are from Prima. The edges were lightly distressed with a Zutter DIA. The dress was cut once in white cardstock, once in black and offset for a shadow effect. The white layer was then covered with glitter. Pink vellum was added behind and it was popped up with foam tape.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - June Linky
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  3. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - June Linky

Independence Day!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful first week of June!! Wow, how is that possible?? It's my turn to post on the Craftin Desert Divas blog and I'm sharing a project with you using the new Celebrate Freedom stamp set from the May release.

I haven't made a shaker card since November 2011 (HERE), but after seeing so many gorgeous ones lately, I decided to make one for my stars and stripes card :) The star was cut with a Spellbinders Star die. The papers are from Bo Bunny's Anthem stack. The star was filled with iridescent sequins and stars punched with vellum. I used a Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder and Distressed Stripes embossing folder to mimic a flag. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

I used the Independence Day stamp and turned it on it's side. The banner is a Taylored Experssions die. The sentiment was heat embossed with red and blue embossing powders. The stars along the top were punched with cork paper. The gems are Prima Say It In Crystals.

Look at all the fun sentiments and designs on this set!! Perfect for your patriotic cards and projects!! You can purchase the stamps at the Craftin Desert Divas Shop. And we would love to see your projects using any of the stamp sets in our Craftin Desert Divas Gallery.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - May Linky
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  3. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - May Linky
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a fabulous week :)

Miss You

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a project to share with you today using the new Miss You Sweet Phrases die from the March release, which is also a fundraising project for Operation Write Home.

I really enjoyed making the sunburst cards for the joint Die-Versions / Operation Write Home Blog hop, but I used patterned paper for those. In trying to come up with ways to make more cards for OWH while following their guidelines and not adding too many bulky layers (and you know how much I love layers!!), I thought the sunburst pattern would work well with embossing...adding texture without bulk.

I used several different embossing folders for both cards, all Tim Holtz Texture Fades.

For the Miss You Sweet Phrases tag, I embossed the paper first and then cut it with the die so the embossing is very subtle. I then used the die to just emboss the red paper so that it fit perfectly inside the tag.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - March Linky
  2. Every Day is an Occasion - March Linky
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - March Linky
  4. Funday Friday #40 - Anything Goes
Also, you still time to hop along with our blog hop with Operation Write Home...but hurry - you have until midnight (PT) tomorrow, Saturday, March 15th to leave your comments for a chance to win!! The hop starts HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Love

Happy Tuesday!! February is just flying by, isn't it??!! Since Valentine's Day is Friday, I have a couple of projects to share with you this week, including this card :)

I started of cutting the Die-Versions Heart Burst die through the three base layers of paper. The top layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug Heart Blocks embossing folder.

Then a piece of recycled clear plastic packaging was attached to the back. The paper on the inside is from My Mind's Eye.

The Die-Versions Heart Burst die was then attached to the plastic with Glossy Accents. The center heart was cut in sparkly silver paper and attached to the inside. The ring of gems is from Want 3 Scrap.

Love is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 3 stamp set. The burlap ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and I can't remember where I got the red ribbon with white stitching. The heart button is a Spellbinders Potpourri die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Christmas Wishes

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week so far!! I was getting a little nervous seeing all of the Christmas in July cards, not having started mine yet. I had to (gasp) buy cards last year since I didn't get them all done, so I thought I'd start early this year :)

It was a little hard to focus on a Christmas card when the temps are in the mid 90's with the heat index in the 100's. But all I had to do was walk into Hobby Lobby and see all of their Christmas displays and it put me in the mood :)

For this card, I used my new Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One dies. The red paper is from my stash, and the white is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The top layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug Bit of Paisley embossing folder and popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The ornament cut-out and center ornament are Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament Dies. All three stamps - the bottom sentiment, ornament stamp and sentiment - are from JustRite Stamps Deck the Halls stamp set. They were stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in Vermillion on the ornament, and Jet Black on the bottom. The jingle bells are from my stash. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my dear friend (and new grandma) Karen of Little Scrap Pieces :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. JustRite Friday Challenge #103 - Christmas in July
  2. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - July Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday #11 - Linky Party
  4. An Inky Situation #1 - Anything Goes

Happy Friday!! I hope all of my friends and followers in the USA had a safe and happy 4th of July celebration yesterday!! And I hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend :)

Friday means a Fun Friday challenge at Little Scrap Pieces. The challenge this week is Stars and Stripes.

This was a quick and easy card to make. The base was cut with a Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics A die in heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. A Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder was inked with Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink and then the paper was run through the Cuttlebug for a letterpress effect.

The star was created the same way. The star is a Spellbinders Star die and the Cuttlebug Star embossing folder was inked with TH Faded Jeans. It was attached with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set, stamped in Versafine Onyx ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp - Patriotic
  2. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday #112 - Patriotic

Tales of a Mermaid

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a great week so far!! I have a mermaid card to share with you today :)

The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle, followed by a Grand Rectangle. The awesome Core'dinations paper is from my dear, sweet friend Diana of DL.Art. It was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder...no idea the name but it came in the Plum Blossoms set. It was sanded to bring out the texture.

The frame is a Spellbinders Floral Ovals die on more Core'dinations paper from Diana. It has texture and when you sand it, it turns blue!! I love this paper!! Thanks so much, Diana :) Crystals were added around the Floral Oval and the swirl at the top is from Recollections. The ribbon is from May Arts. The tag is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die. "Tales of a mermaid" is from K Andrew Designs Pirate Tales and Fish Scales stamp set. You can purchase this set or any K Andrew Designs stamp set for 60% off right now by clicking HERE.

The mermaid is a stamp I purchased years ago from Sideshow Stamps. She was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large die. The part of her tail that didn't fit on the oval was hand cut and then threaded through the front of the die so it didn't get cut off. She was embossed with Ranger Rainbow Embossing powder. I tried to get a picture of the embossing but it is so much prettier in person...she really sparkles. She was colored with Distress Markers in Broken China and Wild Honey. Blue gems were added to her tail and a crystal for her belly button :) The edges of the oval were inked with Broken China Distress Ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Crafty Friends Challenge #9 - All Things Glitz and Glam
  2. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Linky Party
  3. Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Use Blue
  4. Sunday Funday #2 - Linky Party
  5. Speedy TV Mark's Finest Papers - Mermaids

Encouragement Cards and Chriss's Birthday Blog Hop WINNER!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! The weather is perfect here...sunny and 72 :) I have a winner to announce for the Fiskars stamp set from Chriss's Birthday Blog Hop, but first, I have some cards to share with you. A very dear friend asked if I could make some cards to give to cancer patients in her area and I'm so happy that I could do this for her.

Because I was making quite a few cards in a short period of time, they aren't super-embellished. Instead, I tried to chose papers that wouldn't need much embellishment. The paper on the left is from Prima Marketing's Printery Collection. The frame is a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square, followed by a Classic Square Large. The quote is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. The branch is a Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements die inked with Tea Dye distress ink, and the bird is a Bird Sanctuary die. On the right, the paper is Pink Paislee London Market. The frame is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight, followed by a Labels Eight. The sentiment is also from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. The flower is a Spellbinders Rose Creation die and the gem swirl is from Recollections.

The paper for both of these cards is from Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee. I can't remember where the embellishments on the left are from. The sentiment is also from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. "Faith" is a Spellbinders Girlie Grunge Label. The pennant on the right is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die, inked with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Fanciful Flight die, inked with Victorian Velvet, adorned with crystal gems and popped up with foam tape for dimension.

For these two cards, I used embossing to add detail. The folder on the left is a Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers embossing folder, and on the right a Cuttlebug African Batik folder, sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink to bring out the pattern. The frame on the left is a Spellbinders Floral Oval die, followed by a Classic Ovals Large, embossed with Swiss Dots. The flower is a Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms die. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. The label on the left is a Spellbinders Labels Five, followed by a Labels Eighteen in Prima Printery paper. The top label is a Spellbinders Grommet Tags Die, attached with black brads. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set.

Scripture Sayings

Positive Thoughts
