Happy 4th of July!!

Happy, happy birthday USA and happy, happy 4th of July to all of my American friends!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with family, food, fireworks and fun!! Stay safe!! I will be attending a small family bbq so I won't be around much this weekend. I'll check in with you when I can :)

One of my crafty goals each year is to enter Tim Holtz's Tags challenges as often as I can, and though I try each month, I don't always make it. I was able to sneak in some time in the craft room to complete a tag for the July Challenge - I was excited that I had most of the products to work with :) I pretty much followed Tim's Instructions HERE. I didn't have the new Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, so I used Pumice Stone instead. And my Black Soot Distress Marker didn't want to work with the spritzer, so I used Walnut. The 4 is from Tim's Inside Out die, cut with silver foil. I also stitched with white thread instead of black because I was too lazy to change the thread on my machine ;)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 - July
2. My Sheri Crafts - Happy 4th of July
3. DL.ART - July Linky
4. DL.ART - Thankful Thursday - Red, White & Blue
5. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it It Off Saturday
6. Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday #95 - Anything Goes
7. 3 Girl Jam July Challenge - Anything Goes w/Ribbon

God Bless America!! Thanks so much for stopping by :)

  22. My sweetest friend, your tag is fabulous! I love the images, the foil-cut 4, and the sweet star on top! Your inking is so pretty, as is your stitching. I had to giggle... the next time I sew I will be risking it running out in the middle, but it's just so much work to change the thread. ;) I know how much you love Tim's goodies and challenges, so I'm ecstatic you were able to squeeze this in! You showcase his products to perfection. :o) Lovely work, my dearest Lisa! I hope you're enjoying the family BBQ! Have a happy and safe 4th! :o)

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen

  24. Wow Lisa, your tag is amazing!! I love all the detail this baby has in it. The stitching is wonderful, the colors perfect and so soft looking, the star, the foiled 4-it all looks amazing! Glad to hear that you are spending time with your family celebrating. We had rain all day long, miserable. It cleared off in time for some fireworks, but since everything was soaked and it was very cool out, I didn't even bother with going out to watch any. lol Oh well, maybe next year. Hugs, Brenda

  36. Your tag turned out wonderfully :)
I did all 12 of Tim's monthly tags one year…the next year only made it for 4 months, but I enjoyed doing every one of them.
I hope you enjoyed your fun filled weekend.

  37. Lisa, this tag is pretty awesome. And those stamped images are so perfect for America's birthday.

  38. Love your tag! I always enjoy reading how bloggers substitute for what the inspiration piece used, and usually I like it better the way a blogger has created a new look. Your tag looks quite modern with the stamps used, but the elements you've added created such a lovely vintage look..perfectly right for the birthday age we were celebrating. And that dyed ribbon is just FAB-U-lous! Well done on a super commemoration of this years' 4th of July. Hope the BBQ was lots of fun. TFS & Have a great week! Hugs

So glad you had a great 4th of July! We ended up going to the lake and watching the fireworks on the pontoon! So fun and really such a perfect night!!! We also took a drive up north for the day and took in a little shopping, a lumberjack show and lunch on the river in this small tourist town~it was fun to get away for the day:)
We are still waiting for our new snuggle bug to arrive! I am guessing if she doesn't have it this week, they will induce?! She is definitely taking her time! Little Lacy started cereal today for the 1st time...omg, she gobbled it like it was her last meal~so funny!
    Have a great evening!

  48. Lisa, this is a magical and awe inspiring work of art! So much beauty to your tag, from the meaning of our freedom and the flag and star - very symbolic and beautifully done! I love the softness this also has, almost like a beautiful newsprint feel, rolling out the blue prints to create a gorgeous tag indeed! I hope your 4th was WONDERFUL! ♥
