Tim Holtz 12 Tags 0f 2016 - May

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! It's a chilly one here...windy with temps in the low 40's. The month's half over and I already have my tag done for Tim's 12 Tags challenge!!

I followed Tim's instructions HERE. I had a few substitutions but I tried to stick close to Tim's tag. I don't have his Tiny Tattered Florals so I used the Tattered Florals die. The face stamp is from his Nature's Walk set.

The stems stamp is from his Nature's Element stamp set. I used texture paste through Tim's Speckle stencil on the bottom of the tag.

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge. I have a few more bird pictures to share with you. It's been raining on and off for days, so I haven't been able to get outside to take pictures. These are more shot through the windows. So, without further ado, bird pics part 2:

This beautiful bird is a Red Headed Woodpecker. There are several different woodpeckers here but this one is the prettiest in my opinion.

This is an American Goldfinch. Such gorgeous yellow color!

My little Chickadee :)

This is a Brown Thrasher. It's hard to see his yellow eye in the photo so...

I blew up the photo. It's not sharp at all but you can see his eerie yellow eye.

And in this tree is an American Cat Bird...no wait, it's just a cat...my sweet baby Calypso :)

Here she is after taking a drink from the bird bath...maybe she thinks she's a bird??!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

  2. Wonderful detail on the TH Tag. I have to look thru my stamps to see what I can use to make my TH Tag. Especially like the bird photos. We do not have those birds here in Central TX. A wk ago I was surprised by seeing & photographed a juvenile Red Tailed Hawk in the park while I was walking Daisy. Daisy sat patiently while I admired & photographed the bird. Then the other day I saw an even younger Red Tailed Hawk on the back fence of next door neighbor as I was driving to walk & care for 2 neighbor's dogs. I need to post the photos on my blog. I photographed the 1st one with my small camera & 2nd with my phone camera. I cannot get the photo off my camera phone. Emailed it to my 2 different emails and it has not shown up in my email. I really need a new phone. Have an LG Droid and only had it 3 yrs and it is already out of date. Cannot put any new apps on it and it does not seem to work on some other things. Hey my car is older than the camera; 7 yrs, and it works perfectly. I know that is comparing apples to oranges but come on the phone should still work. I've not dropped it or done any damage to it and it just does not want to work with new apps and they tell me that as new technology comes along the support for former not so popular will not work with new things. Daughter upgraded her Samsung Galazxy and she loves it. She was able to exchange her former Samsung Galaxy for new with only a one time $40 activation fee at Best Buy & a new 2 yr contract on our Verizon plan. We are looking for a new deal like this or one that adds a 3rd line and hubby can get a smartphone. He currently has a non smartphone (it does allow text but not apps) that his company pays for. Well, I've rambled enough and need to get ready to go take care of & walk the 2 dogs I'm caring for at 7am CT. Daisy says hi to your cat. Have a BEE-utiful day!

  25. Some gorgeous details on this tag, and the face lends such an air of mystery as well. Love all the dimensional embellies, the wonderful color and embossing. It was neat the way that you did the sections of color - so much interest, and with the metal tags, the lush ribbon tie..just so pretty. Enjoyed your birds so much, and that is one beautiful woodpecker. He looked bluer than the ones here...ours show a blacker body, but the red head showed magnificently. We have some of these same birds! Such fun to watch, and what a great photographer you are as well. Hope the chill goes away. It's in the 80's here. Have a great week. TFS & Hugs

I do have to say that the star is your amazing picture of the very rare and sly AmerIvan Cat Bird! These creatures are elusive and aloof and hard to take a picture of. Well done dearie! Now about those bird photos, wowwwww!! I've never seen a red-headed woodpecker or a thrasher before, and as you know, I have only just seen my first american goldfinch the other day. 46. Lisa, so sorry to be late to see this beautiful take on Tim's tag, but it is better to be late than never! You've really done a great job with the elements suggested on Tim's tag; I love your choice of stamps (I almost used that face!) and stencils and your colors blend so beautifully together! You are a real natural with these mixed media techniques, which goes to show your versatility as an artist! I am picking this as one of my "winners"! (I always do that to see how close I come to Tim's list.) Well done!

I am loving your bird photos; each bird is lovely in it's own way, and that brown trasher has stunning eyes! I've not seen any goldfinches yet this year, and it seems we are not seeing many different species at all. I sure do wish I had your photography skills, though! Thank you for sharing yours with us! Big hugs!
