Today is the day that Heather Lynn's love for everything owls is showcased through the creative talent of her friends at each blog hop stop!! If you love owls as much as Heather does, you won't want to miss a single project. Each person in the hop has dedicated their time to creating any project they wanted as long as it included owls :) There are some wonderful prizes up for grabs along the way, too!!

*** GRAND PRIZE ***

Heather Lynn, the Hostess with the Mostest, is offering up this fabulous grand prize to one lucky follower. In order to be eligible to win, you must:
  1. Be a follower of each blog on the hop
  2. Leave a comment at each blog on the hop
  3. Once you have finished, please return to Heather Lynn's blog and leave a comment stating you have done both

For my project today, I created an owl themed gift set...a card, necklace and gift bag.

The base of the card is a Spellbinders Label One. The next layer is a Label Thirteen, embossed with the Tim Holtz Wood Grain embossing folder. The owl on the branch is from Hoot N Holler, cut at 3". The tag is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die, stamped with "Love Yoo" from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set. This set is absolutely perfect for all of your owl projects, and more!!

Click HERE to purchase your own set!!

The base of the necklace is from Michaels. I stamped the owl from Owly Hoo in black onyx Versamark ink and embossed it with copper embossing powder. I added crystals to the corners and filled it in with Glossy Accents.

For the gift bag, I used Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangles for the base and a Grand Rectangle as the next layer. The Owl is also from Hoot N Holler. I wanted it to look like the owl was in the tree, so the handle is covered with Spellbinders leaves.

The owl is the flap of the bag, secured with velcro.

The Grand Rectangle is also embossed with the Wood Grain embossing folder. The banner is a Spellbinders tag. "You're a hoot" is from Owly Hoo.

I have blog candy!!

Getting Cricky Promotional Week - Day 3!

FOR MY BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY, CLICK HERE!

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!! Welcome to Day 3 of Getting Cricky Promotional Week!! I am having so much fun using only one K Andrew Design stamp set for all of my projects this week!! Today I have not one, but two projects to share :)

Both of my projects today feature owls since there are so many awesome owly sentiments on the Owly Hoo stamp set! This cutie is from the Hoot n Holler Cricut cart! I cut him at 3" and attached him with foam tape. The circle behind him is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die. All of the paper is from My Mind's Eye (my current favorite paper!). I inked the edges with Tea Die Distress Ink and added glossy accents to the Charming and Adorable sentiment for dimension. You are hoot-errific is of course from Owly Hoo!
My second project is a 3-dimensional owl cut from Noah's ABC Animals! This is such a fun cart...you can cut a whole zoo full of 3-D animals!! He looks pink in the picture, but he is actually red. I added bling along the top and googly eyes.
Whoo Loves You is another fun mix and match sentiment from Owly Hoo!:

Getting Cricky Promotional Week - Day 1 and Giveaway!!

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! Welcome to Getting Cricky Promotional Week!! Several members of the Getting Cricky Design Team will be featuring a new project every day this week leading up to our monthly blog hop on Friday, January 20. The catch (there's always a catch, isn't there?!)...actually, there are two!! The theme of our Blog Hop is "U R SO SWEET" to celebrate Valentines Day and the release of Kristal's fabulous new Valentine stamps (click HERE to see the stamps or to order your own sets!! They ship on January 22nd!!) So all of our projects will feature a Valentines Day/love theme!! The second catch, and this is the biggie - we will each be using one stamp set all week for our projects, demonstrating just how versatile each of Kristal's stamp sets are to use!!

For my stamp set, I chose Owly Hoo!! I will be showcasing this set all week and I have to warn you...since I received the Hoot N Holler Cricut cartridge for Christmas, most (but not all!) of my projects will feature a wise old owl :)
For this card, I cut the cute owl from Hoot N Holler and assembled the layers with foam tape for dimension. You can't tell in the picture, but she has black gem eyes and a crystal belly button!! I attached her with a homemade wobble so she shimmies :) The background paper is from the DCWV Citrus stack. The bottom border is a Fiskars punch. I embossed the strip of paper behind the sentiment with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The tag is a Spellbinders die. "Owl-ways on my mind" is of course from the Owly Hoo stamp set:
There are so many fun words on here...tons of mix and match possibilities!! To purchase your own set, or to see the entire line of K Andrew Design Stamps, including the new Valentine stamps, click HERE!
