Getting Cricky Design Team Post - It's Valentines

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! It has been scorching hot here...in the 100's...we're having a heat wave!! :( No playing outside, so hopefully I'll get some crafting time in :) It's my turn to design at Getting Cricky and today, we are featuring the It's Valentines stamp set.

I threw in a bunch of Tim Holtz techniques for my tag today. The tag was white when I started, and I used a TH swirl stamp inked with an Adirnodack Paint Dabber in Snow Cap. A music notes background stamp from My Paper Studio in Mahogany Distress Ink was stamped next and once the ink dried, it was wiped from the white swirls. Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress ink were sponged on next, and then wiped off.

Only You is from It's Valentines. The frame is from TH, filled with Glossy Accents.

The filmstrip is from TH, as are the grungeboard wings, which I covered in TH music note tissue tape.  The grungeboard heart was inked with Barn Door Distress ink and then covered with Rock Candy Crackle Distress Paint and then inked with Mahogany Distress Ink once it cracked. The tag is a Spellbinders Mix'd Media Elements tag, inked with Vintage Photo. Sweetheart is also from It's Valentines:

For my project tonight, I'm featuring the All About Animals stamp set:

I just love the fun sayings on this set!!

For my project, I created a 3D lamb and lion and a card to go with them!!

The adorable lamb is cut from Noah's ABC's at 4" from Core'dinations cardstock. I added cotton for her fur.

The lion is from the same cart, also at 4" and I used tickle yearn for his mane.

For the card, I used Core'dinations paper and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder. I wanted the labels for the sentiments to match the embossing, so I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities circle and lacy circle dies. I inked them with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. "Miss Ewe" and "No Lion" are from All About Animals. I finished it off with a  Recollections rhinestone design, ribbon from Hobby Lobby and a button from my stash.

FCCB Challenge #99 - Fancy Trims

It's Monday...so that means it's time for another super-fun challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!! This challenge is bittersweet for me...it will be my last project as a design team member. I want to sincerely thank Robin for letting me be part of her amazing team!! I have truly enjoyed designing with such amazing, talented crafters!! I will definitely be back for challenges :)

I used four different styles of ribbon/lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon for my project today (from the top down):

The base of card is from Elegant Edges and I used my Gypsy to weld it into a card. The paper is from Pink Paislee and I stitched it to the base of the card. All of the edges are inked with Forest Moss Distress Ink. The doily shape in the background is from Paper Lace. I cut it on white paper and then inked it with Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks.

The leaf ribbon was white, so I inked it with the same two inks. The banners were cut from Sophisticated and attached with foam tape for dimension.

I used Shabby Shutters to stamp "Wind beneath my wings" from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set.

I like to buy white lace so that I can ink it to match my project. I lightly inked the bottom two with Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters.

The bird is also from Sophisticated and I attached him with foam tape. I used an image stamp from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set and added a green rhinestone for his eye. "Love you" is also from K Andrew Designs Winged Things:

Live The Life You Want!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great day!! Are you getting ready to watch the big game?? It is being played about an hour away from me, so it has pretty much been Super Bowl hype around here for two weeks :) I don't really care who wins...though I would like Eli Manning to win since his brother Peyton is my all-time favorite player :)

Before the game starts, I spent a little time in my craft room today and I have a card to enter into a few challenges.

For this card I used my current favorite paper, My Mind's Eye from the Lost and Found stack. I inked all of the edges with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I used an EK Success punch for the pink background paper and the edge of the music paper. The music paper was white, and I inked it with Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Ink. For the tag with the Eiffel Tower, I stitched the edges with my Sew Crafty machine. I just ordered a new mini-sewing machine and I can't wait to use it and get rid of the little cheap thing. It is barely a step up from stitching by hand! I cut the scalloped rectangles from Designer's Calendar. The postage stamp and post card stamps are from TPC Studio. Decorate To Celebrate Challenge #17 - Valentine's Day Party

Hi everyone, and happy Wednesday!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! The theme this week is VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY!! Let's celebrate EVERYTHING WONDERFUL ABOUT VALENTINE'S DAY with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!

For my project, I created a Valentine mobile of 3-D hearts and a birdcage. I had the hardest time taking a picture of this!

All of the paper is from My Mind's Eye. I used Fired Brick and Walnut Distress Inks to ink the edges. I used 6 lb. fishing wire to attach the hearts and birdcage to the top hanger.

The hearts are from Gypsy Wanderings and I added slits so I could fit two together for a 3-D look. "You are loved" is from K Andrew Designs Amazing You stamp set.

The birdcage is a Tim Holtz Die and I cut it first with grungeboard to make it sturdy. I threaded lace through the top, and the lace was white, so I inked it with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I added a strip of crystals and flowers from Flower Shoppe. The pearls and the clear tag are Tim Holtz products. "Sweet" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set. I punched circles and stamped the numbers, and then covered them with Glossy Accents. I am so mad at myself...I "broke" the number 2 as I was assembling the card :( I didn't have time to make another 2 and have the Glossy Accents dry, so I had to go with it. Ah well, sometimes crafting isn't perfect :) The cheerleader is from the All Sports Cricut cart. I cut her at 3 1/2" and attached the layers with foam tape for dimension. I used scissors to shred the edges of her pom poms. "You are" is from Owly Hoo, and the tag is a Tim Holtz die. "Really" is from the Billionaire Lite cart and "Great" is from Base Camp. I used my Gypsy to attache the shadows together.

Happy Friday the 13th everyone!! I hope you are having a safe day ;) This week just flew by! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! 

I have a card to enter into a few challenges today! I cut the shape and its shadow from Elegant Edges. I stamped the Tim Holtz tree onto white cardstock with Distress Embossing Ink. I heat embossed it with Enamel Distress Embossing powder. I then used Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress inks to cover the paper in the pretty blue. The butterflies are from Picturesque and I ran them through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I attached two together with foam tape for dimension and added pearls for their bodies. The circle is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and I ran it through the Snowflake embossing folder and inked the edges in Tumbled Glass. The scalloped circle is also a Spellbinders die, and I inked it with both Broken China and Tumbled Glass and added crystals around the edges. The stickpin is handmade from beads I have in my stash from my jewelry crafting phase ;) "Thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set:

Dream Tag and BLOG CANDY!!

I cut the tag from Picturesque at 6" and embossed it with the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I distressed the edges and lightly inked them with walnut distress ink. The bottom edge is a Fiskars punch. The ice skater is from Winter Woodland and I added some ribbon and Ivory tulle for her skirt. FCCB #91 - Trimming It With A Tag

Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend!! The challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is: "Trimming It With A Tag"...use a tag somewhere on your project. I was so excited for this challenge since I avidly followed the 12 Tags of Christmas by Tim Holtz! I am always so inspired when I see the incredible techniques he uses, and I want to recreate them but don't have the materials he has at my disposal ;) For my project, I used techniques from his 2010 12 Tags of Christmas.

I cut a tag at 6" from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More from Core'dinatons canvas paper. I ran the tag through the Tim Holtz Sizzez Tall Pines embossing folder and I using the technique of stamping swirls directly on the folder before I embossed (I LOVE this technique!!). I then used distress ink in Broken China and Weathered Wood for the background. For the trees, I used Forest Moss and Vintage Photo distress inks. I distressed the edges and then inked with Walnut distress Ink. I cut the deer from the Christmas Solutions cart and inked the edges with Walnut ink. I cut floral leaves from the Tim Holtz Regal Crest Bigz Dies to wrap around the neck and then tied it off with a red bow. I used Tim Holtz music tape to create the banner along the bottom. "Believe" are chipboard letters I had in my stash. I inked them first with Fired Brick distress ink and then when the ink dried, I stamped with a Tim Holtz letters stamp in black Archival Ink. The ribbon is from Michaels and I added a crystal Tim Holtz ornament.

The tag is a Spellbinders Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles Die and I cut it from a Tim Holtz journal tag. I inked the edges with Fired Brick Distress ink and used stamps from K Andrew Designs' Winter Wishes Set:
