DL.ART Thankful Thursday #215 - Ribbon and Sparkle

Hello everyone and happy Friday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend :) Yesterday was the start of a new Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART and the theme is Ribbons and Sparkle. My project is a a day late but I've created a couple of breast cancer support cards in honor of breast cancer awareness month (October). If you use the code l01210, Diana will give you a 10% discount on your DL.ART purchase.

I purchased the Courage Stamp and Die Set by Essentials by Ellen a few months ago and this is the first time I've used it. For the sparkle, I used sparkly paper from Core'dinations.

I stamped the leaves and flowers from the Courage Stamp set and then layered the awareness ribbon on top, cutting it twice and adding foam tape between layers for dimension.

This gorgeous ribbon is Pink Champagne from The Vintage Vineyard Bundle and the Twine is also from Diana's shop.

This gorgeous ribbon is Cabernet, also from The Vintage Vineyard Bundle.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1) Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
2) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for this challenge. Then link up your Ribbon and Sparkle. I can't wait to see what you create :)

Craftin Desert Diva's Linky Party #11 - Birthday Challenge

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I am trying to catch up from being gone for several days. I just got home and have not had a chance to visit anyone so I will be doing that in the next few days :)

I am guest posting at Craftin' Desert Divas for the second week of the Birthday Challenge with an Animal :)  You have one more week to create a birthday project.

Every linky party will have a sponsor and a winner, plus a top 3. The winner will be announced on a semi-weekly basis. The more times you link up, the more chances you have to win. If you make the Top 3 you will also be invited to be a guest designer on an upcoming linky party!!

All of the papers for this are from my stash. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle, followed by a Spellbinders Grand Rectangle. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

The adorable hippo is from Create a Critter, cut in Core'dinations Core Couture cardstock. The hippo was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment tags are Spellbinders Nested Pennants dies. The sentiments are from K Andrew Designs stamp sets.

Craft It Up & Link It Up #9 - On The Farm

Happy Monday and happy July!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I am guest designing today at Craftin' Desert Divas for the second week of the Craft It Up & Link It Up On the Farm Linky Party :)

You have one more week to create a project with anything to do with a farm. Tractor, animals, barn, farmers and whatever else you may come up with.

Every linky party will have a sponsor and a winner, plus a top 3. The winner will be announced on a semi-weekly basis. The more times you link up, the more chances you have to win. If you make the Top 3 you will also be invited to be a guest designer on an upcoming linky party!!

The sponsors for this linky party are...

Candy Speaks Stamp Set

and

Covered Buttons Combo Set

For my project, I dusted off my Cricut and Gypsy to create this farm-themed card. I couldn't wait to use the adorable Teddy Bear Parade cartridge I won from Linda at Crafting With Nana!! Thanks again, Linda!! I love it...so many cute bears!! I chose the farmer bear for this card :)

The base of the card is from Country Life. I used my Gypsy to weld two shadows together for the base. All of the papers are from my stash. The barn and silo were cut with Core'dinations Black Magic paper. The barn was embossed with a Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder and the silo with a Tim Holtz Brick folder. They were then sanded to bring out the red core of the paper. The grass was embossed with a Cuttlebug Branches folder. The chickens, also from Country Life, were popped up with foam tape for dimension, as was the farmer bear.

The stamp is I think from Michael's $1.00 bin, stamped in Versafine Onyx ink.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Craftin' Desert Divas and link up your On the Farm project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

For my Summer Celebration, I created a patriotic wreath for the 4th of July. I started with the two largest Spellbinders Grand Circles and traced them on heavyweight cardboard and cut it out for my wreath base. The stars are all the sizes of Spellbinders Stars die set, cut in Core'dinations Core Couture cardstock.

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Summertime!!

Happy Sunday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! It's time for another super-fun Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky!! And starting this month, we are rolling out a new format. The challenges will now be monthly...you will have a whole month to link up your project!!

The challenge theme for June is Summertime!! So fun!! For my Summertime project, I created a beach bag and matching card :)

I know the colors are a little bold, but I love this paper from K&Company Happy Trails paper stack. Some of the pages are glossy and embossed, like the wave paper on the front of the beach bag. It's really beautiful!! I didn't get the chance to write out the instructions on how to make the beach bag, but it is similar to THIS bag, I just added a top flap that snaps closed. The bag is made with Spellbinders Creative Book Pages dies (thanks again, Shirl!!). The trees are from Life's A Beach, the flip flops are Spellbinders Surf's Up dies inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. The flower is a Spellbinders Rose Creation die using Core Couture paper from Core'dinations, and the gem swirls are from Recollections. The tag is a Nested Pendant die, inked with Spiced Marmalade. "Enjoy the Summer" is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set.

The base of the card is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped square with a Grand square on top. The next three layers are Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents, inked with Spiced Marmalade and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The flower is a Rose Creation in Core Couture paper. "Sending You Sunny Thoughts" is also from Splashtastic Summer:

Kristal also has several awesome new sets available now and she has TWINE!! 100 yards for $5.00 in several beautiful colors!! What a bargain!! Check it out here:

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Getting Cricky to see the amazing projects my talented Design Team sisters have created, and then link up you Summertime project!! You have a whole month...no excuses!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Paper Playtime Challenge #70 - For The Guys

FOR MY BLOGAVERSARY GIVEAWAY, CLICK HERE!!

Happy Monday, everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend!! It was so beautiful and warm here...I can't believe it is the middle of March!! It's the third Monday in March, so that means it's time for a Paper Playtime Say It With Sentiments Challenge!! The theme this week is "For The Guys," and our sponsor is Crop Stop!

In honor of March Madness, which is HUGE in Indiana, I made a basketball card. I actually made this card BEFORE my beloved Alma Mater earned their way into the Sweet 16 (yay!!) I made it to give my Dad since he glues himself to the TV during the tourney :)

For this easel card, I used paper from Core'dinations and The Paper Studio. The background basketball and words were cut from the All Sports cart. Actually, it only cut the four panels of the basketball, the two on top and two on bottom. I added the rest of the orange to make it look like a full basketball.

I used the All Sports cart to cut the bball player at 4". He is wearing red and white in honor of my team, and I added a googly eye so he could keep his eye on the basket :)

I attached the basketball player with a handmade wobble so he is bobbing and weaving his way to the bucket. And speaking of the bucket...

I will admit that I am a craft horder...I keep anything that I think I might use in a project. I have a cabinet (or five!!)  full of unusual items :) This is cut from a bag that held oranges. I thought it looked just like a net.

I embossed the orange paper with the Distressed Lines Embossing folder to make it look like a hardwood floor. The basketballs are from All Sports. "Have a ball" is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer set, as is...

Buckets of Fun:

I am entering this card in my sweet friend Karen's Little Scrap Pieces Happy Challenge. This card, and what it represents (my team...five time national champs making it back to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 10 years!!), definitely makes me happy!!

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Paper Playtime and play along with our Say It With Sentiments Challenge, For The Guys!! I can't wait to see what you create!! Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

The Little Mermaid, Blog Award Thanks and WINNER!!

Happy Sunday, everyone!!  I hope you had a great weekend!! My Getting Cricky design team sister Jessie of Sugarlips Sassy Surprises is headed to Disney World soon and wanted to make an autograph book for her daughter. Fellow design team member Shawn of Crafty Chics decided to turn it into a challenge, the Disney Autograph Book Challenge!! Shawn is asking everyone to create one autograph page (8 1/2" x 5") with a Disney character on it, link it up at Crafty Chics and then mail it to Jessie (visit Shawn's blog for all the details).

Hum, I wonder what Disney character I chose?? Ariel, The Little Mermaid :) (shocking, right??!!) I used Core'dinations Core Couture and cut the Little Mermaid from Disney Dreams Come True.

I had a hard time getting good pics of the pages because the paper is so sparkly. The background paper is from K & Company Happy Trails stack. I love this paper...there are some raised spots for dimension but you can't really tell in the picture. I love the look of the waves :)

Ariel inside the shell was also cut with Core Couture from DDCT.

Ariel was cut from DDCT at 4" using Core Couture paper. I embossed her tail with the Cuttlebug Japanese Scales embossing folder. I had a very hard time not popping her up with foam tape, or adding bling, but I didn't want to make the page too bulky. "Tales of a Mermaid" is from K Andrew Designs Pirate Tales & Fish Scales stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set or to see her entire fabulous line!!

Now it's your turn to help out Jessie and create a Disney autograph page for her daughter!! Then head on over to Crafty Chics and link up your page!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Decorate To Celebrate Challenge #20 - St. Patty's Day Party!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! The theme this week is St. Patrick's Day - we are asking you to create any project that can be used as a party decoration for a St. Patty's Day party. Let's celebrate everything wonderful about St. Patty's Day with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!

I love St. Patty's Day! I have ancestors from both sides of the family from Ireland, and my grade school/junior high school's nickname was the Irish and our colors were green and white :) For my St. Patrick's Day party, I created a centerpiece, party hat and sign!! I used paper from Core'dinations and DCWV Dots, Stripes and Plaids stack.

This just cracks me up :) "Who's Your Paddy" (HA!!) is from Spring Holiday Cards, and I added "Erin Go Bragh" (Ireland forever) to the bottom using Opposites Attract. The shamrocks are also from Spring Holiday Cards.

Lucky one and the shamrock stamp are from K Andrew Designs Hooty Owl Accessories:

I used Life's A Party to cut the party hat. The shamrock topper is from Spring Holiday Cards, and the letters are from Opposites Attract. The lipstick print is from K Andrew Designs It's Valentine's stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase either of the above sets or to see the entire fabulous line of stamps!!

You can't have a St. Patty's Day party without a Blarney Stone for all the guests to kiss when they arrive :) I used my Gypsy to create the sign, using Opposites Attract. I borrowed the "Blarney Stone" from my dad...he likes to collect a beautiful rock from places my parents travel and I think this one is from the Chesapeake Bay area :)

I am linking this up at Krafty Girls Challenge #2 - Feeling Lucky

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate and link up your St. Patrick's Day Party Decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)
