In Everything Give Thanks

For my Christmas Spellbinders Giveaway, Click HERE

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend!! I got quite a bit of my Christmas shopping done, but I still have some to go. Don't you just love wrapping presents listening to Christmas music with all the festive lights on :)

Most of you know that my style is pretty much the opposite of CAS. I love layers and bling. But the current challenge at Crafty Friends is CAS. My sweet and incredibly talented friend Beate of Fresh and Fun guided me to a new challenge blog where I could find inspiration for CAS cards, CAS(E) this Sketch. So I used the current sketch as a guide for my card.

The layers of the card were cut with Spellbinders Matting Basics A and B. The base layer was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The next layer was inked with Sprout Memento Ink. The flower images are from Tim Holtz Nature's Elements stamp set. They were stamped with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then embossed with Fired Brick Embossing Powder. It was then inked with Sprout Memento ink and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The lace ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Crafty Friends Challenge #12 - CAS
  2. CAS(E) this Sketch #8 (see sketch below)
  3. DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge - Red and Green
  4. Sunday Funday #4 - Anything Goes
  5. Creative Inspirations Paint Inspired By: CAS

I have to give a shout-out to my Alma Mater...2012 Soccer National Champs!! Have a great day :)

Getting Cricky Design Team Post

Happy Friday!! I hope you have fun plans for the first weekend in December!! How can it be December already?? My gosh, this year has flown by!! It's my design team day at Getting Cricky and I have a card to share with you  :)

The base of the card is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The green paper is from The Paper Studio. The next layer was embossed with a Tim Holtz Texture Fade embossing folder and adorned with Recollection Gems. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies, cut in paper from my stash and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The ribbon is from May Arts. The tag is a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set:

I just checked, and there are still a few of these sets left. Head on over to Getting Cricky and pick up any stamp set at 60% off while supplies last!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Crafty Friends #11 - Photo Challenge (see below)
  2. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday #3 - Linky Party

ALSO, I wanted to let everyone know that I had to change the way I followed blogs. I was subscribed by email to so many blogs, I was getting like 200 emails a day in my inbox and it was totally overwhelming me. So I created a hidden page on my blog to list the feeds of all the blogs I follow (my dashboard is never reliable). Now I can go there and see who has a new post up, and it's so much quicker than waiting for an email update. So in case you get a notice, I am still following everyone's blogs, just not by email. I lost a couple of followers who I guess thought I quit following them, but I haven't. This way just makes it so much easier to keep up to date with your posts and to keep my inbox from overflowing.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! And please stop back soon...it's time for a giveaway!! Have a great weekend :)

Bless Your Lil Old Heart, and BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY!!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a fabulous week :) In celebration of passing 900 followers, I have Blog Candy!! But first, I have a project to enter into a few challenges :)

I made this mini-purse and card for the sweet lady who feeds my three outdoor cats when I travel!! The card fits inside the purse and I am going to include a gift card as well :)

I love making these Spellbinders purses...they are such great gifts!! For instructions on how to make the purses, check out my tutorial HERE. For this purse, I used smaller dies than the tutorial. The paper is from First Edition Spring Fling paper stack. The base is the largest Spellbinders Lacy Square, followed by a Classic Square Large and a smaller Lacy Square on top. For the top flap, I used one Nestabilities Label Four and two Grand Nestabilities Label Four.

The flower is a Spellbinders Rose Creation with a crystal center and the decorative crystal design is from Recollections.

The pink ribbon for the handle is from my stash, and I used Velcro dots to close the purse.

I wanted the card to mimic the purse, so the base is the same, only smaller dies of Lacy Squares, followed by Classic Squares Large, and then Lacy Squares. The tag is a Floral Doily Accent with a Standard Circle Small on top. The organza ribbon and flower button are from Hobby Lobby, the hemp fiber from Michaels. "Bless Your Lil Old Heart" is from one of the newest K Andrew Designs stamps sets, Southern Sayings:

I am not even Southern, and I love these!! Click HERE to purchase your own set!!

Sweet Card!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! I'm still not getting all of my Feedburner email subscriptions. Is anyone else having this problem?? I am getting a few notifications when blogs I follow have a new post but not nearly all of them. I'm not sure what to do about it...I've tried looking online but can't find a solution. So frustrating :(

I have a card to enter into the Crafty Friends Challenge #3 this week. The challenge is an Inspiration Challenge (see photo below).

For my card, I used papers from My Mind's Eye Rosy stack...I thought the papers were an almost perfect match for the inspirational photo and colors :)

The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Rectangle die. I like how the green striped paper mimicks the stripes in the tablecloth of the inspirational photo. I cut it with a Grand Rectangle die and sewed it to the base.

The white shape is a Spellbinders Parisian Motifs die. The circle is a Nestabilities Small circle. I used them to represent the plates in the picture. The orange layer is a Lacy Doily Accent die. I used a Nestabilites Label 4 to cut the tag...don't those flowers look like the inspirational photo??!! I inked all the edges with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. "Sweet" is from the K Andrew Designs Coffee & Tea Time stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set, or to see her entire fabulous line of stamps!!

The individual gems are from The Paper Studio, the swirls from Recollections. The ribbon is from Joann and the button and natural fiber from my stash.

Here's the Crafty Friends Challenge #3 inspirational photo:

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I will be super-busy the next few days and will stop by to visit when I can!! Have a great rest of the week :)

From One Fashionista To Another and Blog Candy WINNER!!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!! Thank you so much for the well wishes on my injury...all of the prayers and positive thoughts have definitely helped!! The shoulder is feeling better each day. I've kept it iced and immobilized and I haven't had to pop pain pills in two days, which I'm very happy about...I hate having to take them.

I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges today. I had some of the pieces pre-cut, so that helped because I am not very good crafting one-handed :) The paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Madison Avenue stack.

I distressed the edges of the background paper before stitching it to the pink paper. Spellbinders used are Nestabilities Labels 11, Nestabilities Classic Squares Large and Fleur de Lis squares (I just love this die!!). Everything is popped up with foam tape for dimension. Both strips of lace are from The Paper Studio and the crickle ribbon is from Karen of Little Scrap Pieces :)

I used Walnut Distress ink on the edges.

From one fashionista to another is from K Andrew Designs Fashionable Friends stamp set:

BLOG CANDY WINNER!!

And now to announce the winner of my blogaversary giveaway!! I wish I could give something to everyone!! You all are my inspiration and my motivation and I am so thankful to have such amazing blog friends!! I you all :)

I thought about using Random.org to choose the winner, but I wanted to make sure everyone had the correct number of entries and some people posted my giveaway or blogged about it and didn't leave an extra comment. So I kept track of everyone and printed out all the names. Using my good arm (and some help from friends!!), I/we cut out all the names, tossed them in a box and I had my Mom pick out a name...I wanted to take a picture of my Mom picking out the winning entry, but she wouldn't let me :P And the winner of the box of goodies is.................................................................................

 .................................................................................

 .................................................................................

Yay!! Congratulations, Susan!! I hope you enjoy the goodies!! I will get them in the mail to you in the next couple of days!!

I want to thank everyone again for following me!! I love having giveaways, and I will have at least two more this month, so stay tuned... :)
