Becca's Birthday Bash Link-Up

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I'm posting two days in a row - woohoo!! I had to find time in my craft room to participate in my sweet friend Becca of The Damsel of Distressed Cards Birthday Bash celebration!!

Becca has a mood board of her favorite things (see below). I tried to incorporate as many as I could into these cards (except clean and simple cards - ha!! What's that??!! :)

I started with Becca's favorite color pallet of purple and teal...though my teal is a little more blue. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concorde and Mermaid Lagoon (maybe I should have used Peacock Feathers for a more teal look...hindsight...) She loves polka-dots and I tried to incorporate several different sizes here. She also loves typography, so I used two of my very favorite My Creative Time sentiment stamps and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

She loves distressed, vintage cards full of texture. I added texture with Wendy Vecchi Crackled Texture Paste through a Crafter's Workshop Punchinella stencil and distressed the edges with a Zutter DIA. The edges were then inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. Becca's Birthday Bash - Linky/Mood Board (see below)
2. DL.ART - July Linky
3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
4. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - I scream for... (Ink)

Happy birthday, Becca!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great week :)

Thanks!!

Happy Friday!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a project to share with you using some of my favorite Die-Versions dies.

The papers from this card are from Prima's Lady Bird stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. A Whispers Brick Background die was used for the background. This is one of my favorite DV dies. The doily beneath the flowers is a Whispers Ring of Hearts die, which is my another favorite die. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The butterfly is a Wee Petites Buggy die. It was covered with sugar coating and popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The border beneath the ribbon is a Whispers Lacey Dots die. Thanks is a Compliments Everyday die, cut twice for a shadow effect. I added an 's' from the set to the end of 'thank'. The button on the bow is a Wee Petite Button die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - October Linky
2. Little Scrap Pieces -  Show It Off Saturday

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great weekend :)

Tiny Little Thing

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I have been working away in my craft room, trying to get projects done before I go on vacation later this month. I'll be gone for two weeks, so not only to I have to complete the projects but schedule the posts too. Plus pack!! So much to do :)

There are a couple of challenges I wanted to enter, so I have a baby card to share with you today :)

The papers for this card are from the 12x12 My Mind's Eye Lost and Found stack. I love the patterns, but the paper is thinner than the smaller packs, so it's not as easy to work with. I just used it for the base and anything I didn't have to die cut.

Spellbinders Exquisite Circles were used for the medallion. The paper is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. It was inked with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink, as were all of the edges of the papers. Each layer of the circles were popped up with foam tape for dimension and pearls were added from my stash. The sentiment is from Hampton Arts and stamped in TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin' Desert Diva's #14 - Babies
  2. Funday Friday #16 - Sketch Time (see below)
  3. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - September Anything Goes
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because September Linky Party
  5. Cut It Up Challenge - Labor Day

Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Some Thanks and a GIVEAWAY!!

Happy Friday bloggie friends!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! How about a giveaway?? But first, I have a tag to share with you and some people to thank :)

I want to sincerely thank Tara and April of Crafty Desert Divas...I won their huge summer giveaway of a whole ton of awesome goodies!! They are so generous...there was so much in the package, I was in awe!! I can't wait to play with it all!! I used some of the gems and the pin frog they sent on today's project. Thank you again, Tara and April...I appreciate it so much :)

Isn't this the most gorgeous mermaid ever?? I went to my mailbox today and found her inside, thanks to my very dear and sweet friend Pam of Craftycards4u2!! What an unexpected, happy surprise!! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE her!! Thank you so much, Pam!! You are so thoughtful and kind, and I am so thankful for your friendship :)

For the tag, I used Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the background. The waves were stenciled on with Broken China and the edges were inked with Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans. The mermaid was stamped with Black Soot and then embossed with holographic embossing powder.

I tried to get a picture of the incredible multi-color shimmer of the holographic powder, but it just wouldn't show up. She really sparkles in person. I used watercolor pencils to color her. "For with God, nothing is impossible" is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set. Click HERE to purchase this set or to see her entire fabulous line of stamps.

Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

Getting Cricky Design Team Post - Beautiful Thoughts!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! We are still melting in the heat here. It was 104 yesterday and supposed to hit 105 today :(

It's my turn to design for Getting Cricky and today, we are featuring the Beautiful Thoughts stamp set, one of Kristal's newest sets and one of my favorites :)

The papers are from My Mind's Eye Union Square stack. The book was made with a Spellbinders Label 7 die, then stamped with a Heartfelt Creations book frame stamp on kraft stock. Two pieces of white cardstock were cut with Label 7 and then stamped with the book frame stamp, the edges trimmed to give the book dimension. The words are a stamp from my stash in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, with Old Paper Distress Ink sponged over the paper and the edges inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Merci!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!! I'm on family camping trip to celebrate Father's Day, so I apologize for not being able to visit. I will be around to see all of your awesome projects as soon as I get home :)

I have a quick card to share with you today, made with one of K Andrew Designs newest stamp sets, French Thanks. The paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Union Square stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square, with a Grand Square on top, inked with Vintage Photo Distressed Ink. The black frame is a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square.

I am so excited about the burlap...I was in Joann Fabrics a few weeks ago looking for a remnant of fabric to use as a backdrop for photos. I came across a roll, just under a yard, of burlap for $3.75 PLUS 50% off!! So I got this nice large roll for under $2.00!! I'll be checking the Joann remnant bin every time I shop now, even though I won't need any burlap for quite a while :)

The red background is a Spellbinders Label 18, with a Label 4 on top, inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The sentiments from French Thanks were stamped in Aged Mohagany Distress Ink. The second Merci is from an older K Andrew Designs stamp set, Merci. The Eiffel Tower was stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink, and heat embossed with Holographic Embossing Powder from Ranger...I wanted it to look like the lights were sparkling on the Tower :)

Here's a side view, where you can see some of the holographic shimmer.

The lace is from Hobby Lobby, and I inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink .

French Thanks
(amities means best wishes, and bises means kisses, Merci beaucoup - thank you very much)

The French Thanks is a Customer Exclusive set!! If you purchase over $25, you will receive the Namaste set (one of my favs!!) free:
