Thanks card

Happy Thursday!! Wow, this week has flown by...almost the weekend already!! The weather has been so nice here this week...it's about 80 today with a light breeze. I love having the windows open. I wish it would last through the weekend, but tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 50.

I have a card to share with you that I made for a friend who recently sent me a gift :) The paper is so pretty...it's from Prima Marketing's Nature's Garden stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Rectangle, followed by two sizes of Labels 17. All of the edges were inked with Old Paper Distress Ink. The ribbon is from May Arts, and the crystals are from Recollections. The center purple layer is a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, with a Fancy Tags One on top. "Thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set. All K Andrew Designs stamp sets are on sale now for 60%...hurry and purchase yours before they are all gone.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Fanciful Flight die. It is covered in Martha Stewart Crystal Fine glitter and popped up with foam tape so it looks like it is flying off the page.

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. Crafty Friends Challenge #9 - All Things Glitz and Glam
  2. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Linky Party
  3. Sunday Funday #2 - Linky Party
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll have more Halloween projects to share with you this weekend :)

All of the papers for this card are from We R Memory Keepers Anthologie stack, except for the black paper, which is from my stash. All of the edges were inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square die, and the black layer was cut with a Spellbinders Grand Square.

The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies, and they are resting on Spellbinders Labels One dies. The hemp twine is from Michaels and the button from my stash. The gems are from Recollections.

The dies are Spellbinders Tags and Flags dies, inked with Walnut Distress Ink and stamped with sentiments from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set:

Paper Playtime SIWS Challenge #82 - Polka Dots!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend :) It's time for a Say It With Sentiments Challenge at Paper Playtime. The theme for Challenge #82 is Polka Dots...we want to see your Polka Dot projects along with a sentiment. The prize for this challenge is the "Chalkboard Special Kit" from Close To My Heart Consultants Lucy Kelleher (CTMH USA) and Darla Haverstock (CTMH Canada).

Lucy - CTMH USA
Website: http://lucyk.ctmh.com/
Blog: http://love2createitall.com/

Darla - CTMH Canada
Website: http://darlah.ctmh.com/
Blog: http://www.stampinunderdoctorsorders.blogspot.com/

I made this card for a dear friend :) The solid cardstock is from Close To My Heart. The yellow and white polka dot paper is from My Mind's Eye Sunshine Forever stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Rectangle embossed with the Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels 25, the edges inked with Cantaloupe Memento ink. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels 5 embossed with Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

The center label is a Spellbinders Labels 4, stamped with a music notes rubber stamp and inked with Cantaloupe Memento Ink. The yellow polka dot flower is from Close To My Heart, the edges glittered with fine white glitter. The reason I chose this color combo is because I had a beautiful aqua flower as well but I tried to wet it to shape it and ruined it :( So this aqua flower is a punch with crystals added. The twine is from CTMH, as are the butterflies. The butterflies were inked with Cantaloupe ink, stamped with Perfect Medium and glittered before the gems were applied. The tag is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die. "My Friend" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set.

I am linking this up at DL.ART Happy Birthday Linky Party - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Paper Playtime to see the incredible projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge, then link up you Polla Dot project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Getting Cricky Flashback Post

For my IBSIC Guest Designer post, scroll down

Hi everyone!! We are doing something fun the next few weeks at Getting Cricky!! Each DT member picked out favorite projects and we are flashing back to revisit them. I picked out three of my older projects to share :)

My first flashback project is a Love plaque I made for my parent's anniversary last year. I created this for a guest designer spot at Cutting Up With Class. Click HERE to see the original post with all the details.

You can't tell in the picture, but the white background paper from Fancy Pants has little bits on it that sparkle like diamonds :) I varied the sizes of the letters so there is a ton of dimension to the plaque.

"Wind beneath my wings" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase this set or to see Kristal's entire fabulous line of stamps!!

I am linking this up at Jaihart - Sundays are Lovely #11

Head on over to Getting Cricky to see two more flashback projects from my talented design team sisters!! Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Dream Card and WINNERS!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! It's almost the weekend!! Do you have any fun plans?? I hope to get some yard/garden work done, flowers planted... Also, I have to apologize. I follow quite a few blogs through email and I'm getting some, but not all of the notifications when a new post is up. My auto-post is finally working again and now this happens :( Blogger has been so frustrating lately. On that note, if you don't have the option of following your blog by email, its such a great feature to have...you can add it as a gadget on your sidebar and then your followers will know when you post...assuming it works!!

Before I announce winners for two giveaways, I have a card to enter into the Little Scrap Pieces - Use a Bow challenge :)

All of the paper is My Mind's Eye. The base of the card is a Spellbinders Grand Label 23. The second layer is a Label 20, embossed with the Cuttlebug Forest Branches embossing folder, inked with Walnut Distress ink, as are all of the edges. The next layer is a Label 2. I created a double-bow, thanks to my dear friend, Sherrie of Sherrie Scraps With Passion!! Sherrie posted an awesome tutorial (view it HERE) on how she makes her bows, which I have loved forever!!

The top elements, the box, bird, branch, crown and banner are from Spellbinders Shapeabilities Mix'd Media Elements. I inked the bird and banner with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, the branch and edges with Walnut.

Dream is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set. I taped over the "s". Click HERE to purchase your own set!!

I have WINNERS to announce!! First up is the winner of the Fiskars "It's Your Day" stamps from the My-O's 32 Blog Hop!! And the winner is....(I forgot to grab a picture of random.org before I chose my second winner below...sorry!!).......................................................

Decorate to Celebrate Challenge #23 - All For the Teachers!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For this challenge, it's all about Teachers!!

For Challenge #23, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a CLASSROOM!! Let's celebrate EVERYTHING WONDERFUL ABOUT OUR TEACHERS with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :) For my project, I decorated a bottle of hand sanitizer (every teacher needs this on her desk, right??!!) and created an apple gift bag to hold it :)

For the apple bag, I cut two apples at 6" from Doodlecharms, hiding the cutouts on my Gypsy. All of the paper is from Heidi Grace Tweet Memories stack. The leaf is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls folder. #1 Teacher is cut from Base Camp. I made a box to go between the two apples to hold the bottle of sanitizer.

For the bottle, I wrapped it with Heidi Grace paper, and a decorative border from Spellbinders Lacy Doily Accents. The red tag is a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Ribbon tag. I used a Spellbinders Beaded Circle die, and inked it with Colorbox warm red fluid chalk. The circle is a Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circle Small die."Thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set:

Right now, Kristal is having a 20% off store-wide sale!! Enter the code "letshavefun" to take advantage of this special offer!!

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see what my amazing Desing Team sisters have created!! Then link up your For The Teachers decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

FCCB Challenge #99 - Fancy Trims

For My Paper Playtime Design Team Project, Click HERE

It's Monday...so that means it's time for another super-fun challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog!! This challenge is bittersweet for me...it will be my last project as a design team member. I want to sincerely thank Robin for letting me be part of her amazing team!! I have truly enjoyed designing with such amazing, talented crafters!! I will definitely be back for challenges :)

Today's challenge is Fancy Trims and we have a fabulous sponsor: Really Reasonable Ribbon!!

Really Reasonable Ribbon is the ribbon source that meets your craft ribbon needs. They offer full spools at wholesale ribbon prices to all of their customers. Shorter scrapbooking ribbon options are available, and longer cut pieces of ribbon are perfect for wedding invitations, rubberstamping, cardmaking, bowmaking and other crafting needs. All are available at discounted prices.

I used four different styles of ribbon/lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon for my project today (from the top down):

Leaves, White
Sheer Looped Ivory Trim
Amelia White Crochet Lace
Noelle White Crochet Lace

The base of card is from Elegant Edges and I used my Gypsy to weld it into a card. The paper is from Pink Paislee and I stitched it to the base of the card. All of the edges are inked with Forest Moss Distress Ink. The doily shape in the background is from Paper Lace. I cut it on white paper and then inked it with Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks.

The leaf ribbon was white, so I inked it with the same two inks. The banners were cut from Sophisticated and attached with foam tape for dimension.

I used Shabby Shutters to stamp "Wind beneath my wings" from K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set.

I like to buy white lace so that I can ink it to match my project. I lightly inked the bottom two with Forest Moss and Shabby Shutters.

The bird is also from Sophisticated and I attached him with foam tape. I used an image stamp from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set and added a green rhinestone for his eye. "Love you" is also from K Andrew Designs Winged Things:

Click HERE to purchase this set or to see the entire line of K Andrew Designs stamps.

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Use Green
  2. Divas By Design Challenge #22 - Wings and Things
  3. Sentimental Sundays Challenge #90 - Let's Get Sentimental
  4. Cardz TV Challenge #102 - A Stitch in Time
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to FCCB and link up your Fancy Trim project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Getting Cricky Promo Week - Day 5

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday!! Today is the last day of Getting Cricky Promo Week leading up to our Cabin Fever Blog Hop tomorrow night at 9:00 pm EST. My feature cart of the week is Wall Decor and More. One of the benefits of only using one cart all week is finding cuts that I didn't realize were on there!!

I knew about the Eiffel Tower, but I didn't realize the ticket or the film strip were on this cart. The background shapes are Spellbinders Grand Calibur Nestabilities Labels 4. I embossed the black label with the Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder.

I cheated a little and used another cart (shhh, don't tell!!) I wanted 3D flowers for this project so I used Flower Shoppe to cut these three beauties!!

I love film strips!! I have wanted to purchase the Tim Holtz die but haven't gotten around to it. Now I'm glad I didn't :) "Dream" and "Faith" are from the K Andrew Designs Winged Things stamp set. "Hope" is from Splashtastic Summer:

And "You are the weaver of your own dreams" is from Positive Thoughts:

Click HERE to purchase your own set of these stamps or to see the entire fabulous line of K Andrew Designs stamp sets!!

and
Getting Cricky Promotional Week Day 1!!!

Cards for Emily is a 2 day hop so be sure to go back to Day 1 to hop through yesterday's posts for some more inspiration! :)

This is also the first day of Getting Cricky Promotional Week!! Several members of the Getting Cricky Design Team will be featuring a new project every day this week leading up to our monthly blog hop on Friday, February 17. Last month, we each chose one stamp set and used it all week for our projects. This month, we are mixing it up!! We each chose one cartridge or SVG file that we haven't used in more than three months and are using it all week with any stamp set!! The cart I will be featuring all week is Wall Decor and More!!

For the Cards for Emily Blog Hop, if you came from Brenda at http://friendscraftinwithfriends.blogspot.com/ then you are at the right place! If you just happened across my blog and are interested in participating then start back at the beginning at Michelle's blog at Scrappin' For Kenzie!

Emily is a sweet little 6 year old girl that has battled Leukemia since before Christmas 2011. She has had to endure more pain in a few short months than most adults in their entire life. She has gone from Leukemia to Rotavirus, to pancreatitis, to kidney stones, then to shingles, not to mention over 300 pokes in her tiny little body! From chemo to blood draws to feeding tube. Her bone marrow is finally at 0.00% so she is now in remission and back at home! She is still going through 7 different chemotherapy treatments but is finally doing better! To read her full story and updates please visit the original Cards for Emily info post HERE

For this hop all we ask is that you hop through the list, then when you are done, link up your card for Emily back at Michelle's blog at Scrappin' For Kenzie. The link up tool is in the left hand side bar under "Cards for Emily". You will see her picture right above it.

REMEMBER: There is no requirement to leave comments or even hop through all of the blogs if you don't have time. There will be no personal candy at any of the stops along the way. That way you can get maximum inspiration to make your own card and have enough time to link it up and send it away!

There WILL be however a giveaway to one lucky winner that links up their card by February 29th 2012. You can link up as many cards/projects that you would like. The more you link up and send the more greater your chance is of winning a.....

$20 gift certificate to

Their etsy store has over 100 stamps to choose from!

The tags are Spellbinders Nestabilites Labels 4. "Brave is Beautiful" is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. Click HERE to purchase this set or to see the entire fabulous line of stamps!!
