You are sun-sational!!

Happy Saturday, everyone!! I was hoping to get out today and enjoy the outdoors but thunderstorms are rolling through the area...and it seems they have settled in for the day. Looks like I'll have to head down to my craft room instead ;) I have been having so much fun using Spellbinders for projects, my poor Cricut was getting lonely :( So I decided to use him for this project.

I made this thank you for my parents for the family vacation last week...they paid for everything for all of us :)

The paper is from K & Company Happy Trails stack...love it!! I cut the lighthouse from the same stack, inked the edges with Shabby Shutters Distress ink, and popped it up with foam tape for dimension. The lounging couple are from the Fun in the Sun cartridge, and while that totally could be my Mom wearing a hat and reading a book, I don't think my Dad will truly appreciate the bald man with a little padding around the middle ;) But they are so cute and I love the fun summery images on this cart :) I wanted the sand to stand out a bit, so it's embossed with Swiss Dots and inked with Walnut Distress Ink. The lounging couple are popped up with foam tape as well. I added a green crystal to the top of the lighthouse.

So I obviously couldn't go without using a Spellbinders!! I used a Nestabilities Label 10, and inked the edges with Shabby Shutters. The twine is from The Twinery, and the button from my stash. "Thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set, and "you are sun-sational" is from Splashtastic Summer:

Like all things Lighthouse including this card. Wonderful to cut the Lighthouse out & make it pop as focal pt of card. Perhaps my PG-13 Sassy Birthday Nurse could come visit the baldy man on the card. Heehee.

My sweet friend, this is fabulous! (Naturally!) The paper is gorgeous! I adore blues/greens, so this paper keeps making me stare at it. The lighthouse is exquisite... amazing idea to use it as a focal element for your card. :o) And of course the Cricut scene is lovely, as well. The embossing and dimension are perfect and I love the sentiment hanging from twine. :o) (I LOST one of my Spellbinders. I am crushed!) Marvelous card for your sweet parents.. they will cherish it and whenever they look at it, they'll think back on the memories you all created. :o) So special. :o)

Hugs and blessings! http://kaleidoscopicsparkles.blogspot.com
