Hamilton Celebrates!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! Wow, what is up with Mother Nature?? The (awesome) 60's yesterday and now the forecast calls for snow today...with a low of 8!! My gosh, she is fickle :)

Most of you know I don't usually do digi's. I just don't have the patience to learn to color. But when my sweet friend Naomi of Creative Bug on the Loose started a challenge to launch her new Creative Bug Digital Snapshots store, I had to participate :)

She has several adorable digis to choose from, and she will send one to you to use in the challenge. I had a hard time choosing, but finally decided on "Hamilton Celebrates".

For my card, I used paper from Basic Grey's Shine On paper stack. The base and first layer are Spellbinders Grand Labels One dies. The edges were sanded to bring out the embossing. The next two layers are Spellbinders Decorative Labels One and Labels One. The grass is a My Creative Time Stitched Grass die.

Here is adorable Hamilton!! He was colored with a Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Marker and a TH Waterbrush. The clouds were inked with Broken China Distress Ink. The balloons were colored with Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers and Barn Door Distress Markers and a waterbrush. A TH Dot Face stencil was placed over the balloons and they were inked with the same colors of Distress Inks. The balloons were then cut out and popped up for dimension.

Four dies from My Craft Spot's Tiny Doily dies were used for the sentiment. The sentiment and balloon are from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring set.

A Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure tag was used for this sentiment from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 1 set. A Die-Versions Buttons die was used for the button. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my dear friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Creative Bug on the Loose New Beginnings Challenge
  2. My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #128 - Cute Critters
  3. Craftin Desert Divas - Birthday
  4. DL.Art - March Linky
  5. Every Day is an Occasion - March Linky
  6. Just B Creative Crazy - March Linky
  7. Word Art Wednesday #121 - Anything Goes
  8. Funday Friday #40 - Anything Goes
  9. House of Cards March Challenge #1 - Cute or Shabby - Add a Button
Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Adorable little piglet!!!! How cute he is...I too am just getting into digitals....I think the big tip I learned is, to put the papers used for Copics in your printer to print on so the ink doesn't bleed onto your coloring (ask me how I learned that...lol)...I think you did a "fab" job of coloring him...super cute and adorable card my friend!!! And we have that snowing~blowing day too...oh well, I will stay warm and cozy in my room and create (as long as the power stays on..lol!!!!!!

Hamilton is so cute, Lisa! I haven't attempted digis either, yet I do love to color so I should give it a try. Love the layers and textures, as always am envious of how you group all the die shapes together to make your cards look so lovely. I need more in depth study on grouping die shapes to make the layers. Maybe you should teach an online class, friend. I would be the first to sign up.
Even down here in Texas, the weather is playing tricks on us, too. Yesterday high was near 80, cold front blew in, dropped to 50. Tonight, mid 30's. Repeat out loud, Spring will soon be here!

Hamilton is beyond adorable. I don't handle digi's well, because I have print smearing many times. Nice to have cute ones, though, and much easier to store. Love what you did with H. and all these details really spiffed this card up so greatly. The dots on the balloons is just an example of attention to detail taking a simple balloon into overdrive, then popping up for added emphasis. Loved the sanding on the embossed edges as well. Done with your usual flair, Lisa. Delightful card. Upstate SC has some cooler temps tonight and some gusty, howling wind. Heard the northern areas are expecting some more white to dump. Hang in there, maybe this is the last of it! TFS & Hugs

Ummm...that is pretty incredible for someone who doesn't think she has learned to colour because those balloons look like they were done by a pro Lisa! Your inked sky is pretty phenomenal as well. The card itself is absolutely beautiful. Pretty darn impressive!

I'm so glad that you decided to support Naomi and come over and play in our New Beginnings Celebration Challenge over at Creative Bug on the Loose. Be sure to pop by tomorrow to see if you are one of our lucky winners.
