My Craft Spot Challenge #159 - Thanksgiving/Fall

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend :) Are you getting ready for Black Friday shopping?? I know I am :) It's time for another fun challenge at My Craft Spot. The theme this week is Thanksgiving/Fall. Play along for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to shop at MCS.

So today, I'm sharing my very first project using my new Cricut Explore!! Woohoo!! It was so much easier to use than I feared and it cut perfectly. I was happy to discover that I retained quite a bit from using my Gypsy, so I could pick up what I needed in Design Space. I still have so much to learn, but for my first project, I'm happy :) I've rediscovered my love for Cricut :) My first project was to cut the Curvy Box file from My Craft Spot. You can find the file HERE, and it's currently on sale!!

The papers for this box are from Basic Grey. The label is a MCS Ornate Labels die. The sentiment is from the Fall Leaves stamp set. It was heat embossed in snow white embossing powder. MCS Vanilla Bean Crinkle Ribbon was used and MCS Ivory Twine was threaded through the button.

The papers for this box are from K&Company. Another MCS Ornate Labels was used for the sentiment from the Fall Leaves stamp set. MCS Vanilla Bean Crinkle Ribbon was used and MCS Ivory Twine was threaded through the button for this one, too.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Linky Party - Anything Goes
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it off Saturday
  3. Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes
  4. Jo's Scrap Shack Fun-Day Friday - Thanksgiving
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to My Craft Spot to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Thanksgiving/Fall projects...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Hamilton Celebrates!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! Wow, what is up with Mother Nature?? The (awesome) 60's yesterday and now the forecast calls for snow today...with a low of 8!! My gosh, she is fickle :)

Most of you know I don't usually do digi's. I just don't have the patience to learn to color. But when my sweet friend Naomi of Creative Bug on the Loose started a challenge to launch her new Creative Bug Digital Snapshots store, I had to participate :)

She has several adorable digis to choose from, and she will send one to you to use in the challenge. I had a hard time choosing, but finally decided on "Hamilton Celebrates".

For my card, I used paper from Basic Grey's Shine On paper stack. The base and first layer are Spellbinders Grand Labels One dies. The edges were sanded to bring out the embossing. The next two layers are Spellbinders Decorative Labels One and Labels One. The grass is a My Creative Time Stitched Grass die.

Here is adorable Hamilton!! He was colored with a Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Marker and a TH Waterbrush. The clouds were inked with Broken China Distress Ink. The balloons were colored with Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers and Barn Door Distress Markers and a waterbrush. A TH Dot Face stencil was placed over the balloons and they were inked with the same colors of Distress Inks. The balloons were then cut out and popped up for dimension.

Four dies from My Craft Spot's Tiny Doily dies were used for the sentiment. The sentiment and balloon are from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring set.

A Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure tag was used for this sentiment from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 1 set. A Die-Versions Buttons die was used for the button. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my dear friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Creative Bug on the Loose New Beginnings Challenge
  2. My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #128 - Cute Critters
  3. Craftin Desert Divas - Birthday
  4. DL.Art - March Linky

Decorate to Celebrate #48 - Tea Time

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous start to April!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. For Challenge #48, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a Tea Party!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about little tea sets, sugar cubes and tea cups with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more  :)

Growing up, my sister and I were never girly girls. We played with Barbies and stuffed animals, but we would have rather been outside playing kickball or softball and getting dirty. We never had tea parties. So I was struggling a bit with this challenge, until I found THIS tutorial on how to make a paper tea cup.

The papers are from Basic Grey's Out of Print stack and heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The plate was made from a Spellbinders Beaded Circles Die and a Spellbinders Standard Circles Large die, adorned with crystals.

The invite was created with a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square and Spellbinders Classic Squares Small die, the edges inked with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink. The teapot is from K Andrew Designs Coffee & Tea Time stamp set. It was colored in with TH Broken China Distress ink and a TH Waterbrush. "You're Invited" is from the K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Tea Party project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Attitude Is Everything

Click HERE to enter my 2nd Blogaversary Giveaway!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn to post at Getting Cricky and I have a tag to share with you today :)

I have my sweet and talented friend Diane of Nellie's Nest to thank for this tag...she got me hooked on Julie Nutting's Prima Doll stamps!! I was obsessed with finding them and they are practically impossible to find anywhere. But I finally tracked down two of them, including the one I used for this tag.

The tag is  from a Julie Nutting Prima Tag Pad. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Les Papillions die, popped up with foam tape for dimension. The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam.

The doll was stamped onto manilla paper stamped with the script stamp from the TH Mini Ornates set in Antique Linen Distress Ink. It's hard to tell in the pics, but her cheeks were colored with pink chalk. The rest of the papers are from Basic Grey's Out of Print stack. The background note paper is a Spellbinders Office Supplies die. The flowers were fussy cut from the Basic Grey paper.

The side tag is a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die, the edges inked with Vintage Photo. "Smile", and...

"Attitude is Everything" are from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. Unfortunately, this set is sold out, but there are still a few sets available for 60% off. Click HERE to visit the online store. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Quotable
  2. DL.Art - March Linky Party
  3. Sunday Funday #7 - March Linky Party
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
