Brighter Days are Coming Your Way

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! How can October be half over already??

I have a couple of cards to share with you today that I created for a very special cause. My sweet friend Becca of The Damsel of Distressed Cards is hosting The Hop to Stop, a blog hop to raise awareness for victims of domestic violence.

Becca is an such an inspiration and I hope you'll stop by her blog to read her story and then join me in supporting her very important cause.

I used Lemoncraft Everyday Spring papers for this card. A Memory Box Distressed Windham Collage die was used in the top corner.

Tucked among the Wild Orchid Crafts Pretty Flori flowers are Memory Box Chloe Stems, Elizabeth Craft Curvy Leaves and Impression Obsession Foliage. The beautiful crinkle ribbon is Pure Love from the Valentine Bundle at DL.ART.

A Spellbinders Decorative Labels 1 die was used to hide the sentiment tag. The butterfly is a Fiskars punch. The lace and cheesecloth are from my stash.

The tag is a Sue Wilson Pierced Tag die. I thought the sentiment was perfect for this hop. It's from My Creative Time's Be Awesome set. I finished it off with some white acrylic paint using a Tim Holtz Splatter Brush.

Because I can never make just one card, I made another in pink :) The papers for this one are from Lemoncraft's Neverending Summer stack. The rest of the details are the same except for the beautiful ribbon...it's my favorite - Sweet Love from DL.ART's Valentine Bundle.

Another perfect sentiment for this hop...Never Give Up is from My Creative Time's You Matter set.

I am entering this in Becca's hop and the following challenges:

1) Hop to Stop - Anything Goes Using Purple
2) Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #185 - Anything Goes

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a new Thankful Thursday Challenge at DL.ART. The theme this week is Anything Goes. If you use the code l01210, you will receive 10% off your purchase at DL.ART.

For my cards, I used papers from Wild Rose Studio's Antique Library stack. All of the edges were inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. The white layer was stamped with a Justrite Stamps Crackle Background die. The corrugated cardboard is from DCWV.

The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Tea Stain from the Coffee House Bundle #3. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the leaves are Sue Wilson Mosiac Leaves dies.

The tags are Sue Wilson Pierced Tags dies, tied with DL.ART White Twine. The butterfly is a Fiskars punch and it was covered with Sparkle N Sprinkle Crystal Ice glitter.

The top tag pulls out to reveal the sentiment. This one is from My Creative Time.

And this one is from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2) Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to DL.ART to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Anything Goes project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Becca's Birthday Bash Link-Up

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I'm posting two days in a row - woohoo!! I had to find time in my craft room to participate in my sweet friend Becca of The Damsel of Distressed Cards Birthday Bash celebration!!

Becca has a mood board of her favorite things (see below). I tried to incorporate as many as I could into these cards (except clean and simple cards - ha!! What's that??!! :)

I started with Becca's favorite color pallet of purple and teal...though my teal is a little more blue. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concorde and Mermaid Lagoon (maybe I should have used Peacock Feathers for a more teal look...hindsight...) She loves polka-dots and I tried to incorporate several different sizes here. She also loves typography, so I used two of my very favorite My Creative Time sentiment stamps and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

She loves distressed, vintage cards full of texture. I added texture with Wendy Vecchi Crackled Texture Paste through a Crafter's Workshop Punchinella stencil and distressed the edges with a Zutter DIA. The edges were then inked with Walnut Distress Ink.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. Becca's Birthday Bash - Linky/Mood Board (see below)
2. DL.ART - July Linky
3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
4. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - I scream for... (Ink)

Happy birthday, Becca!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great week :)
