Scrapy Land Challenge #49 - Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land and the first Wednesday of the month means it's Anything Goes plus a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries...there are over 40 to choose from!!

Remember how I said you'd be seeing more projects with the Sue Wilson Pierced Tags die I'm addicted to?? Well, here's another :)

For this card, I used papers from Lemoncraft's House of Roses stack. On the bottom layer, I used a Prima Wood Texture Stencil and texture paste.

The clock is a Prima Vintage Clock die. It's tucked beneath a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 die. Tucked under the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers are Memory Box Chloe Stems and Impression Obsession Open Scroll Vines.

The Sue Wilson Pierced Tags dies were tied off with white twine from DL.ART. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is also from DL.ART. On the bottom corner, I used a Cheery Lynn Designs Hinge die adorned with pearls.

On the inside, I included an Impression Obsession Medium Butterflies die. The borders were cut with a Spellbinders Curved Borders 1 die.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - September

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a great day :) I finished my tag for Tim's 12 tags early this month!! Yay!! I will actually be going on vacation from the 22nd until around the 8th of October, so I've been trying to get all of my commitments done before I go :)

The tag this month was a huge challenge for me. I usually try to stick very close to Tim's tag, but I didn't have most of the supplies including Yupo paper (??). So, this is very different from Tim's tag, but I did follow all of his instructions and all of the supplies are Tim's, starting with the tag which was cut with his Tag and Bookplate die. I used his Distress Patina technique on the tag (and I was a little sad to cover it up!!)

Instead of Yupo paper, I used Specialty Stamping paper. I used Alcohol Ink in Cranberry and Meadow. The stamp is from Tim's Old Fashioned Christmas set. For the Alcohol Ink Resist Technique, I used a TH Splatter stencil to represent snow :) Merry Christmas is from Tim's Framelits Retro Christmas set and the snow flakes are from his Framelits Holiday Joy set. The tag was stamped from his Simple Sayings set, with a 25 Remnant Rub. To finish the tag, I used a Tag and Bookplate die on the edge, TH Film Strip, the letters for Joy from Alpha Parts Newsprint, a wish Typed Token and finally, Santa Claus is Coming to Town Small Talk stickers.

You can find all of the instructions for Tim's Tag HERE.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016
2) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
3) Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day!! Big hugs :)

Anything But Cute Challenge #17 - Friendship

Happy Monday and happy Labor Day to all my friends in the USA!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's time for a new monthly challenge at Anything But Cute!!

The sweet and talented Branka of Vintage Homemade is our fabulous hostess this month and she's chosen the theme "Friendship". Here's what she had to say about the theme:

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people. We want you to show us a mixed media creation that's inspired by friendship. You can create anything, from tags to art journal pages but make sure it's a mixed media piece. Let's celebrate friendship together!

For my project, I created a friendship canvas for one of my oldest friends, incorporating several of her favorite things. I started with an 8 x 10 canvas and flipped it over. I covered the canvas with gesso and then applied drywall tape to the edges.

Next, I applied crumpled white tissue paper to the center for texture.

I added texture paste through a Tim Holtz Brick stencil to the background.

For added texture, I applied crackle paste to a piece of heavyweight cardstock and applied it to the canvas. I also added the crackle paste to the sides using the brick stencil. I applied paste through a Crafter's Workshop Art Is stencil as well (not pictured).

Now to fill in the background. I used a Cuttlebug die to cut the flowering vines in cardboard.

I cut other pieces in cardboard and covered them with gesso.

I added some some chipboard pieces, buttons and lace, as well as the friends forever wood pieces. I coated the entire canvas with gesso. This is where things went a little sideways. I wanted to use my Finnabair Mica Powders to color the canvas, but my experiment was a huge disaster. I'm too embarrassed to show you what it looked like, so I covered the entire canvas with black gesso and started again :)

This time, I used several different colors of Viva Decor Inka-Gold. After I had the canvas the colors I wanted, I used white gesso and a dry brush to highlight different parts of the canvas.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
2) Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
3) Emerald Creek Dares - Anything Goes
4) A Vintage Journey - Create Within a Frame
5) Creative Artiste - Anything Goes Mixed Media

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Anything But Cute to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your mixed media Friendship project!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

DL.ART September Linky Challenge

Happy September!! Wow, this year is flying by so fast!! It's time for a new monthly linky challenge at DL.ART and as always, the monthly theme is Anything Goes. If you use the code l01210, Diana will give you 10% off at DL.ART :)

In honor of how fast this year is speeding by, I decided to start on Christmas cards. For my cards, I've used (NBUS) Maja Designs Vintage Winter papers. I love this paper stack!!

I stitched the bottom layer to the card base and distressed all of the edges with a Zutter DIA.

This gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Christmas Red from The Traditional Christmas Bundle. Layered under the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers are Impression Obsession Pine Branches and Impression Obsession Pine Sprigs. The tag was cut from the papers and tied with Red Twine from Diana's shop.

This beautiful ribbon is Royal Blue from The Blues Bundle. The Blue Twine on the tag is also from the DL.ART store. Dec. 25 is from My creative time and it was popped up with foam for dimension. The snowflakes are from Impression Obsession's Small Snowflake set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) djkardkreations NBUS #7 - Anything Goes using new (Maja Designs paper)
